That Lloyds message is their standard one when their system have not yet set up the COP for new Buidling Society collection type accounts. Wait a bit (I usually wait till the next day after account opening) and it will return the usual "account details confirmed" message.

personal choice i guess on giving it a go, if early in to a RS, may be worth the effort, if later, i would still suggest not. thanks

I think it’s standard for a new payee even if COP confirmed. Ecology COP updates immediately for all of the main institutions. I Bank with Barclays and had something very similar after COP was confirmed with 3 questions to answer. It’s to make people stop and think in case it’s an APP scam to a so called ‘safe account’…….a crime which is absolutely rife, causing misery to so many people and costing the Banks millions as rules are now such that Banks are liable unless they can prove the customer in the wrong, which I guess if you’ve answered these questions would be the case!

Lloyds CoP
It's not, if it's confirmed it doesn't give this particular warning. Note it states, "We can't check these account details." If you continue to the payment screen it also has a, 'can't be checked' warning against the payee details.
I've just tried it again and CoP's still not working for me next day.

Interesting. I’m stating the obvious here but that’s a Lloyds issue and would suggest nothing to do with Ecology.

Yep and, as I said, it allows you to make the payment anyway. It's only like going back to the days before CoP.

That makes sense.
I always seem to pass the ID checks electronically so was surprised when I recently applied for a Dudley RS as a new customer that they wanted me to post them a certified passport copy etc. I didn't proceed.
I applied for the new Ecology RS last night and got the account opened immediately.
So I guess you just don't know what will happen.0 -
In case anyone else wonders about Monmouthshire timelines, my RS had its maturity interest credited between 9am and 10am on the day of maturity

I would say this is a Lloyds problem, not an Ecology one. Lloyds are fiddling a lot with their systems right now. My CoP on Santander worked fine yesterday, a minute or two after I had completed my Ecology application, so Ecology have made their data available to the CoP database.

Ecology BS - no COP
I had the same with Bank of Scotland, so it seems to be an LBG 'thing'? I went ahead, and the money arrived instantly, and I have the intention of doing a new payee for the September deposit, in the hope that things have been 'sorted' by then…?
Having said that, I still can’t get a COP match from Bank of Scotland for Dudley BS, despite my first account with them being opened in June...
