I guess Lloyds are taking the same approach as Skipton - members get the benefit of a better interest rate, but we don't want them to double up on accounts. Which is fair enough, as the RS is being offered as a loss leader so they want to limit the amount you can deposit each month.

I thought the same the other day but now having looked at it more the account is under fixed term, 1-year, and to the right option for the regular saver.

Lloyds - OK so they have a change in their T & Cs, which they have asked their website programmers to implement, and if you have one RS you cannot apply for the other RS. I have both and cannot see either account available to apply for if I am logged on.
It is perhaps only one more small step for the website programmer to be asked to implement the existing T&C, and not let you apply for an account that you opened in the previous 12 months, and to prevent "renewing".

Possibly a change introduced at the same time as the Lloyds one at a time one, if the option does not appear tomorrow.
I ‘upgraded’ in March ahead of an April maturity, amid the wider uncertainty as it was fixed rate. It worked then so the change, if there has indeed been one, must have happened in the last three months or so.0 -
I don’t have a Lloyds account either but I guess we may end up with one as I figure they would change the branding to Lloyds rather than ditching all the Halifax customers. It’s very different to Tesco and M&S who actually wished to exit the current account market, while there could be argued to be duplication in LBG now that any group branch can be utilised.

Very glad now that I refreshed both of our Lloyds savers last month so they mature now late May 2027
But now worried about Halifax - in view of the discussion earlier this month I was thinking I might refresh Halifax regular savers at the end of June so at least I would keep the fixed rate for a further year. I was going to downgrade and then open a fresh new regular saver - is this even now possible?
I dont want to downgrade only to find out that I cant open a new regular saver until the end of April 2027 when the original one was due to mature.

I have the club lloyds RS and do not have the normal 5.25 one, it was always just below my threshold. I can confirm I do not have an option to apply for it as a new account nor as a refresh for my existing easy access account, looks like they have already closed it as an option.
