Thanks to the OP for the Bucks reg saver info.

Please can I confirm that it is £250 and not £350 per month- I had the £350 figure in my head

About 1 this morning I could not sleep so I started browsing on my phone and catching up with the thread. Having missed out on others I thought rather than delay I would start my application there and then. Eventually had to get up to complete it as I needed my NI number so some scrabbling in the files and then all done.

Got the email with the user ID number and started to register this afternoon before I realised that I'd added 44 to the start of my mobile number and hence I was not getting the OTP so I emailed them. Within an hour they had corrected it and rang me to tell me it had been done. I also asked the assistant when we might have account numbers so we can fund and he said it would probably be Monday-ish.

OHs application was done this afternoon with no issues

We have been thwarted with so many of the recent additions…. - Teachers we were away, Tipton not in the right postcode, Skipton already have regular savers, Furness for OH but waiting for his photo ID to arrive but probably will be July now ….the only one I've managed was Dudley so at last we have a second saver maturing in June 2027 to fill the maturing savers gap

    Bucks …

Another "no problem" application this afternoon for a new customer. Desktop PC running Win10, MS Edge, easy filling in of all details and chose typed signature … 10 mins max, all done. Two emails within seconds of completion and able to log in …. naturally not showing the account yet but one email does say there will be a follow up email with paying in details to follow … so probably very similar to Teachers BS, where the account shows automatically after they receive your initial payment. Happy days!

They sent me a text with the url for the account and went through at the second attempt. Emails followed, so all set up by 4pm. Signature was just typed. Phew!

  • just checked at 17:05 and regular savers for Buckingham are “currently unavailable”.

So after successfully opening the Bucks account (still waiting for it to appear though), decided to have a bit of a Skipton clear out.

Had a RS paying 5.25% with max £2400 balance due to mature in 30 days. Opened their new EA (4.25%) to keep membership rights and closed the RS. Balance and interest accrued immediately credited to new EA.

Opened Member RS paying 5.75% and transferred £250 from EA. All easy and was impressed with Skipton here.

It's £250, the recent Furness Summer RS was £350 which may be where that figure has come from.

Just activated my online account, I omitted the 0 from my numbers. Unsure what would happen if one included it after the +44 that is prefilled.

How do you make an initial payment? I have not received any deposit information yet. Didn't really expect it yet, as they stated they'd take a couple of days to get back

Thanks for this - I've been pondering what to do about my own Skipton regular but looking at my google charts I realised that OH also has a Skipton regular saver only earning 5.25% and not due to mature until January. I will follow your lead and open an EA for him although his ISA ias also with Skipton. Then close the ongoing reg saver and open the new version. This method also has the added benefit that the Skipton proceeds will go to feed the general savings pot for the July SOs which are still a bit short.

My own Skipton does not mature until November and I've been thinking about this for a few weeks. November 2026 has Furness maturing plus a Cahoot and also my Nationwide bond so funds are not lacking. If I closed the ongoing Skipton and opened a new Skipton maturing June 2027 that would fill that gap of no accounts maturing next summer.

I was told that once the application has been made, they check it manually to make sure they are happy with it then send the details and instructions for funding by email.

They are open tomorrow morning so you may get it then, if not it'll be next week presumably.
