I asked for interest to be paid into current account and reg saver to be closed. They closed current account and didn't touch the reg saver at all. By the time the complaint was through the reg saver matured on it's own and despite them accepting liability and to action it, they never did. Good luck.

I've used the closure form many times to close savings accounts, mainly those opened alongside the many M Plus current accounts I opened when the M-Plus current account was a decent rate up to £1000. I realise this is anecdotal but I've never had a problem other than it usually took a couple of days to action. I don't even understand how it can go wrong, you fill out the account numbers of both the account to close and the account to transfer any trailing interest to. I am more than happy to continue to use the online form to close any further accounts should I need to.

I can only surmise Virgin were swamped last year with closure requests for their former 10% regular saver, from those who couldn't wait until the trailing interest got paid a couple of months later.
