oh fantastic! I don’t have anything with Virgin Money (only just over 1 month into regular saving) so do I first just open a M Plus Account and then only sign up for the regular saver after it has been set up? Thanks! I’m assuming there is no sign up bonus to first time Virgin Money accounts or any referral rewards? Thanks!

I still have July to fund before my current RS matures.

Am I right in thinking you can only apply for this account if you don't have last years offering?

Yes, you have to open eligible current account first. I don't think there are any sign up bonuses.

I was checking today that they have my nominated bank account details before my RS matures next month. I thought I submitted these details along with a bank statement as evidence but could be confusing it with another BS. I've now input my nominated bank account details on their website and they are posting out a mandate for me to sign, hopefully Royal Mail won't hold it up for too long.

My Teachers BS deposit also appeared today, sent and credited on the 5th which was also taken as date of opening (contrary to many institutions where this is the date of application.) It would have updated sometime in the afternoon as it was not showing when I checked this morning. I also received the email saying the letter would be in the post (and another addressed to a Mrs Scott, but thankfully it was generic and didn’t give any more of her information.)

Account showing with initial letter, 6 digits and first three characters of surname. Assume this will be confirmed as the final reference but as the minimum opening balance was the monthly maximum, the letter will be here before the account is funded again.

You can only hold one Virgin Money Regular Saver Exclusive at anyone time, regardless of issue or end date. The system knows what you do / don't already hold.

Good to see another new RS on the block for June, even with criteria & number restrictions 🤗. We need some more 6%+ RS 😅. Let's hope July is a fruitful RS month.

I currently have Iss 3 maturing in July. Logged in to see if I could close the account now and open the new Iss 6, but there was no option to do this. On line chat said I would need to call. Seems like I will have to wait until maturity.

Virgin Money RS closure

From memory, VM have an online form to close a current account that you can use for a savings account. I also remember it took a good week or so to close mine last year, but then everyone seemed to be closing theirs at the same time (same maturity dates). I can't remember if emptying the balance before requesting closure speeds things up.

In February when I closed my VM RS, there was a form online to complete and it took around 3-5 days before the old RS account was closed and I could apply for the new issue. However, this morning when I've logged on, there's no online closure form; that I can find, and the chat bot says call the team. If you select NO at the end 'Did I manage to help you today', the chat will connect you to a live team member / agent up to 10pm. The same option is available in the APP. As I'm not closing my VM RS, I didn't go any further.
