That's interesting about the NI number. I didn't know that third parties could check other information about you via your number.
Would that not have some data protection issues?
But I don't know how these things are linked up in the background!

I believe it's linked up in the background. How I've no idea, but personally, no direct third party searches have been made on my linked nominated bank account. It's the same for Blue Light / NHS only savings accounts via credit unions and online discounts etc it gets connected some how, although payments are often taken directly from wages each month, there is an option to make a manual/SO payment each month too. TBH, ethically, I wouldn't even think about trying to apply for something / an enhanced interest rate on a savings product for a specific field I'd never worked in.

I've been paid £27.08 interest for Club Lloyds Monthly which is nice considering I reduced it down to £1, just setup another & fully funded. 😊
CO OP Regular Saver has appeared in app so fully funded that too.😊

It would be rather odd if they considered the account maturity a withdrawal for the purposes of applying the penalty. It is not under the control of the customer.

Safely received this morning

Oh amazing! That’s great to know, thank you😊 - I might apply for that as soon as the 6.5% one is opened up (in the hope that it’s a hint easier to apply for if I’m already logged into their portal once I’ve become a customer of theirs)

Thanks. I've applied and will see whether I get accepted. I'll report back here in case anyone else is in the same boat.
Ideally I'd have liked to open it in late June / July to fill a gap, but can't guarantee it'll still be available in a month's time so don't want to risk missing out. I'm not too familiar with Teachers Building Society so don't know if they have a habit of pulling accounts quickly.

Applied but got no email confirmation. Anyone else?0 -

I haven't received one either so it's probably normal. In internet banking I can see the application is pending so I'm not concerned,

I received one, but OH hasn't. I'm only guessing, but possibly something to do with electronic ID, but no idea why as it should've been possible for both of us.
