I did wonder were everyone had gone to … hopefully May will bring something some new savers …
On the plus side I finally made a decision and refreshed my Halifax regular savers so April 2027 there will be savers maturing at the start and the middle to feed the May 1st 2027 regular savers so crisis averted :)
And then Principality - OH had a triple access mature so he just closed that one.
Then we both had 6 month savers mature on the 24th so I sent maturity instructions to convert into regular savers issue 37 - both successful. They are there as a stop gap - add funds as and when and close if need be.
We also had 2 more 6 month savers mature today and I did the same - put in maturity instructions to convert to issue 37 - again sent the instructions late evening the night before - but this time the proceeds were returned and then this afternoon the other £250 - oh well you win some and then you loose some :)
“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”1 -
Issue 37 is all of 4.75%. This is way too low for my liking at this stage, even for a "just in case" account

Agree there. There's very slim pickings with Principality at the moment. I've just been closing down accounts as they mature, still got 3 different RS's on the go though.

Does a 13th payment for the Newcastle Regular Saver 1 work?
0 -
The account has a maximum balance of £2.4k stated in their Ts&Cs so their terms do forbid it unless the 13th payment still leaves you with less than or equal to £2.4k in the account.

Thanks to those who have expressed their good wishes for me, in theory the most "admin-heavy" part of the process should be done as I've sent the proof of funds across to my mortgage broker and shall send them to my conveyancer tonight (over 150 statements).
With regards to regular savers, all hell'll probably break loose tomorrow with it being the first of the month, the only saving grace is that because of the bank holiday I've got a 4 day weekend for free to recover if it does go bonkers thanks to compressed working hours and Monday as a standard non-working day.
A quick update before my main updates:
RS timeline spreadsheet:
It appears I didn't update the RS timeline spreadsheet last month so apologies for that, I haven't the time to do it this evening so shall do a bulk update to it over the long weekend shan't update the RS timeline spreadsheet tonight.
Thresholds for this thread:
I've now reviewed the thresholds for regular savers to be included on p1 of this thread and they shall be changing. Previously the thresholds were 4.15% and 3.95% where the account has favourable conditions, with effect of my next update (tonight) they shall be increasing to 4.25% and 4.1% respectively, this is largely being driven by increases to top easy access rates and an increase in favourable conditions in the EA accounts that offer the highest rates.
A new spreadsheet:
Earlier this month, @dcs34 very kindly transferred the listings of each of my monthly updates to a brand new spreadsheet, the Regular Saver Thread Monthly Updates spreadsheet. Going forwards whenever I do one of my monthly update, I'll add the update to the Regular Saver Thread Monthly Updates spreadsheet. The rationale behind this is as follows:
- Due to the new text editors, my listings take up a larger proportion of the character limit than they used to so I can no longer fit the full listings in some updates into one post, one way to mitigate this is to paste an image version of the listings into the update, with the full update (with links) on the spreadsheet.
- I'm conscious the post with links to all of the updates is increasing in length, this helps to safeguard against this post running out of room.
- searchability of all past listings becomes easier as you can just use ctrl+f across the workbook to find the desired RS summary.
- It acts as a safeguard in case one of the RS threads is accidentally deleted (it's not as if that's happened before) or becomes unusable due to technical issues.
A link to the spreadsheet shall appear both on p1 of this thread and the archived thread.
The usual monthly update shall be made in the next couple of hours.

Mine is now done and dusted. It will be a while before I'll be able to afford to contribute to any new RS. My focus is now on refilling a large hole in my flexible ISA.
I hope yours goes through smoothly.

Thank you for this, the spreadsheet is very useful as it can be copied and manipulated for my own needs too - considerably quicker than cutting/reformatting/pasting text.

Changes to thresholds:
Previously I was only including accounts where the interest rate is 4.15% or better, or 3.95% if the account has favourable conditions.
After reviewing the wider savings landscape over the last couple of months I have chosen to raise thresholds for regular savers to be included on the main Regular Savers List.
I am now including accounts where the interest rate is 4.25% or better, or 4.1% if the account has favourable conditions
Note for the purposes of the thresholds. for an account to be deemed as having favourable conditions it must:
- Allow at least 3 penalty free withdrawals per year at any time without notice and meet at least one of the following criteria:
- ○ Allow you to pay in £500 per month or more
- ○ Mature after at least 2 years
I have now removed the following regular savers as they are no longer eligible for inclusion under the new thresholds:
