Does anyone know if we can close a old virgin regular saver and open the new one ..

I don't know for sure but I think thatmay be possible.

Check the terms of your current RS. I think early closure should be possible.

I waited until maturity for my last Virgin RS Exclusive as that was the 10%+ one.

From my notes, I see I first withdrew all the funds and then requested closure. I think the request was by chat or SM, unless you can find somewhere specific to request closure. It takes up to a week for them to close the account.

You definitely can with EXCL Issue 3 … I guess EXCL Issue 4 will be very similar.

Of course the risk is while you’re waiting for your existing RS account to close, they withdraw Issue 5… i do remember it took a little while to close last time and that was just at maturity…

I remember now after the 10% virgin regular saver finished we had to click more top right then close account which looked was more aimed at closing current accounts but worked for reg savers

mine at the time closed very quick.

But can remember for alot of other people's savers took for ever to close

I've just logged onto the Nott BS app (formerly Beehive) and notice that it now includes my passbook RS.

Theres limited functionality but its pretty good that it shows the current interest rate and transactions (today's are already there).

I had email notification a little while ago that this was due to happen but no notification that it it HAD happened.

My existing Virgin RS matures in May. By then the takeover by Nationwide should have happened, so they may not offer any more regular savers under the Virgin brand. It would be good to close/refresh my existing account so that I can have both Virgin & Nationwide until next February. Would be good to hear if anyone else has success with refreshing.

That's right, I remember that now.

It said close current account (or something similar) as the RS Exclusive is on the current account platform.
But you just put the RS account number in, not a current account number.
The account was then closed ... eventually.

I did empty it first, though. I can't recall if that was necessary. (edit: it was!)

Just for info, all 4 previous RS exc issues were on sale for about 4 weeks, all went off-sale in the month they were launched.

Do they allow you to open more than one RS? Seeing as this is a new issue?
