for those affected by Darlington, i've had an email from them this morning….
We are writing to let you know about an error we have identified on your Regular Saver account, and to explain what this means for you. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
What has happened
On 31 December 2025, interest was credited to your account incorrectly and included an additional 12 months’ interest. We corrected this overpayment. However, during our review we found that the correction reflected one day's less interest than expected. This has now been resolved.
How we have corrected the error, and what it means for you
- We have updated your account so that the balance now accurately reflects the correct interest amount. These adjustments are shown as ‘Int Overpay Adj’ (Interest Overpay Adjustment), either online or in your passbook.
- If you complete a tax return you need to adjust your gross savings interest received by the total of the two above adjustments. Please see a worked example below to find out how to calculate this figure.
- Interest going forward will apply in line with the terms and conditions of your account.
- This correction only relates to the interest on your Regular Saver account. If you have any other type of account with us, it has not been affected.
Our apology
We apologise for this error. As a member-owned building society, it is important to us that every member’s account is treated fairly and accurately. We have reviewed our processes and taken steps to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

Darlington BS
Based upon the explanation they provide, they must have made another mistake on my account as both
Int Overpay Adj are negative for me.
Can anyone guess why that would be unless it's an error?

Its hit and miss at the moment.
I have 5 reg savers and 2 xmass.
A reg 3 and reg 4 end on the 28/02/26.
I hope to get offered 2 more issue 4's in two weeks.
Then just hope I do not get a message to say NO.
Also it looks like a 7th payment is not being accepted.
As balance for other accounts has been updated, 2 reg savers with £1200 has not.
Shall await a refund.

Suggest you ask them directly, but its possible based on your deposit dates that the original adjustment was lower than it should have been. I would expect staff on the phone don't have the ability to manually check interest payments so you're probably best to send a message / email / letter.
Alternatively post a list of all your cleared transactions so someone can do the maths on the 'true' amount of interest that should have been paid.

I am in the same situation this morning.
2 of our Principality 6 month savers matured today and I put in maturity instructions late on Sunday. So far today both maturity residues have arrived into the current account as expected. There is also one £150 returned payment. I've logged onto my Principality and there is no secure message and no sign of the matured account but I am assuming that its mine that has been rejected.
I will check OHs later - I wonder if he has actually managed to get a new Christmas saver!
Mansfield have sent me a huge application pack, only applied on Friday. But not one for OH as I asked so I have to message them again (a few extra sheets and it would have saved them time and postage) .
On the plus side it looks like our local postal service is running nicely

Usual drill:
Chorley BS Regular Saver (31.12.2026) and Chorley BS Regional 2 Year Flexible Saver (31.12.2027) are NLA. Replaced by Chorley BS Regular Saver (31.01.2027) and Chorley BS Regional 2 Year Flexible Saver (31.01.2028) respectively at the same rate.
P1 of this thread and the archived thread shall be updated later today.

Just seen that Virgin have launched their Regular Saver Issue 5 - 6.5%, £250 pcm with maturity in Feb 2027. Anyone with an existing exclusive RS (like me) cannot open another one.

7th payment worked for me today.

Think I may have got the answer to my problem with Skipton not accepting my money; apparently the account I have the monthly limit is not the £250 I thought, but £200. £250 is the Member rate.
So far I've sent 3 lots of £250, on Thursday, Friday and Today. So far I've had 2 payments come back, one on Thursday, and one today, Monday. Fingers crossed the other one comes back. Sadly it means I didn't manage to get a payment into January.
I've just sent another £200 which isn't yet showing in the account. Will check again later.
Also waiting on closure amount from Furness, which I foolishly closed on Saturday. Note to self, do nothing with them at the weekends, hopefully the money turns up tomorrow.
