NW internal SO's are processing over the weekend, they just don't clear/show until the next available working day i.e. Monday. Someone recently raised the valid point that; if this is the case, will the RS account accrue interest from the point of the SO being sent to / received in their RS, or on the Monday?

Follows last year's pattern

Please can I ask is this an abnormal number of regular savers going NLA as there seems to have been a flurry over the last few weeks - or is this totally normal for February and March as most building societies concentrate on the more lucrative revenue inducing business of getting people to fill ISAs
Or is it a prelude to more new regular savers appearing when we get into April …. ???

Many of those going NLA have been the ones described as "Festive" or "Seasonal" savers which seem to have been on sale longer than usual. I also think a number had been pulled with expectations, now reversed, of interest rate reductions.
I wouldn't expect much of an uptick in RS offerings in April - there will still be a push for new ISA money at the start of the new tax year. Just my views

With the ongoing World events and the uncertainty which way the BoE rates are going to go it might also be an influence to the rates and launch time of any new products.

I agree! Personally, I always find RS offerings to be slow in April & May, so I may look at renewing; if available, a couple of 5.5% fixed rate RS just to even out maturities over the year a little more.

Not sure what you're intention with this post was but still no change regarding my post.

For those attempting to close the Penrith BS Regular Saver 300 account early, I just thought I'd post my experience.
About a fortnight ago I sent them a letter asking them to close my regular saver 300 and send the funds to my limited access account. They refused, stating that the account isn't due to mature till later this year and that I can only withdraw down to £100.
They've now sent me a secure saying they've closed the account as I previously requested and are currently looking into the complaint I made regarding the issue.
