Sending hugs to all 🐢.
Sorry ive been AWOL again. Been snowed under with sewing, stayed late at work Tues for training, & again on Wednesday to help at the disco.
Now nearly at the end of half term. Got DH to hammer in 6 fence posts, then i moved 2 piles of branches, logs & made a dead hedge in the wildlife area of the garden. Pleased with my efforts, especially as there was snow on the ground! Been for a walk most days.
Went to a neighbouring Island yesterday, to visit FIL. Pleased DS2 came with us.
Finished a 1000 piece Jigsaw, tonight I finished my book. Now only 10 rows away from finishing the poncho.
Grateful for time off, my car being fixed, a friend appearing at just the right moment & giving me a lift, dry weather for being outside, & finally an inspiring podcast which told me about a channel on utoob which shows you exercises for releasing tension, stress, trauma, etc

can you share the utoob details please? I appear to have developed the habit of wearing my shoulders as earrings.

Certainly! It was The Human Garage. My shoulders are in exactly the same position, I'm woken up in the night with tingling down both arms & have been sleeping with a hit water bottle under my neck since last summer. I've had 2 physio appointments, which have helped slightly, but the exercises on this channel have helped it so much more! Let me know how you get on 😊
Thanks @beanielou . I hope you're in less pain now, & you & your mum are doing ok.
NSD, might be double figures now.
Didn't go for a walk this morning, as very heavy rain. Got out papers I'd saved from when the DSs were younger, & filed them in their memory boxes/ring binders. Was doing some for late DS1, when a song came on that he'd played guitar on at his primary school leaver's assembly. Couldn't have planned it if I'd tried!
It had dried up in the afternoon, but I wasn't sure what time a customer was coming to collect things, so did more sorting out. Have a few things for the CS too. Started a new 1000 piece Jigsaw, then shortened 5 kaftans after tea.
Back to work tomorrow, but feel like I've achieved things whilst I've been off & ticked some things off my list too.
Grateful for laughs with DH, memories, some decluttering done

Shoulder shrugging - raise your shoulders towards your ears and then drop them, repeat.
Shoulder circles - bit weird but try to move your shoulders round in circles (if you are still fairly fit, you can do your whole arm as though you were skipping without a rope)
I always finish a shower by directing the hot jet at my neck and shoulders to massage out the kinks

Grateful for ready meals - decided I would eat the one on top of the pile, whatever it was. Then had chicken tikka samosas and whilst they were warming I poured plain yoghurt into a bowl, added mint sauce and cut up a heap of carrots and 2 chunks of cucumber (lush). Grateful for films. I have found a stash called 'Classic British Telly'. Yesterday was a film 4 production with Glenda Jackson, John Thaw and Cicely Tyson (and a very baby faced Craig Charles). Today I've watched 2. The first starred Ian McShane (pre Lovejoy). The second was a bit strange (set in the 1950s and people were a bit weird - awkward family dynamics)

Welcome to the Fire Horse Year. Velocity. Wild hearted risk. Sacred rebellion. You are not here to be contained. You are here to blaze a trail.
Fire Horse doesn't sit in the stable. It burns it down. This is the year you stop asking permission to be powerful.
Snake year was the shed. Skin on the floor. Old identities. Dead stories. Quiet betrayals. You already outgrew that version of you.
Snake taught you how to release. Fire Horse teaches you how to run. No more circling the same wound. Forward is the only spell now.
Detween Snake and Fire Horse is a threshold. You either clutch the old skin or climb on the back of change and let it carry you forward.
Ask yourself: What still keeps me stabled? Whose comfort am I protecting? What burns if I choose my truth over their approval?

Welcome to the Fire Horse Year. Velocity. Wild hearted risk. Sacred rebellion. You are not here to be contained. You are here to blaze a trail.I will live by that. I was also born in a year of the horse. Time to start the little rebellion against containment and being held back……
Gym and NSD today. Will have parmentier de canard for supper this fine evening (leftover duck and potato pie) as I got a big YS duck for Sunday roast.
Had a lovely birthday weekend, beach walk, dinner out, loads of crochet and relaxing.

Worked my way through a bag of paper - mostly decanted into the new address book. There are 3 other tasks coming off that - 1 appointment to make, 1 phone call once I've put it together with some other stuff and bank reconciliation. One large overstuffed bag of paper to go out. It has worn me out. Will spend some time reading my book and go to sleep.
Grateful for doing a difficult task (some of the entries are all over the place due to my hands but they are all legible), 'watched' a couple of decent films (on in the background but stopped to watch when necessary), ate well from food in the house.
