Apologies to Jazee for the anti-slinky influence 😁x
Yes, Valli, there is much joy in remembering. Do you keep that lovely mug for the first day of the month? Glad your mouth is healing x
Thanks eltee x
Shopping done, bags brought in (3/4 by DH), coffee made and I can sit down for 5 minutes while I drink it. Then unpack, eat a quick lunch, and get back to the baking and cake decorating. Today's aims are 2x lemon drizzle traybake, 1x GF oranges-and-lemons loaf (lemon drizzle with some hm marmalade stirred in and on top), and butter icing on 2 oreos cakes and yesterday's coffee traybake. The German plum cake turned out very well and only needs a sprinkle of icing sugar to finish it off.

Jazee I looked at that quickly and for some reason thought you had shined your eyebrows, which would have been interesting. Love the mug Valli. And Iona it's hard to imagine going through something like that. I hope that reorganising the photos isn't too difficult.
Paid stuff done for the week. It's grey cold and rainy and a bit of an Eyeore mood has settled over me. In fact I have been like it all week.
So, I have about 3 hours before DH comes home. I need to make a plan or I will fester in a cloud of self pity. If I get the kitchen cleaned, clean washing put away and a general tidy up done by 2.30pm then I will have 30 minutes on home admin and an hour to curl up with my book. Going out anywhere is not appealing, it's horrible outside.
Right, music on and off this sofa. I will report back.

(((Hugs))) YL.
I'm glad you're able to sort the photographs without dissolving Ionafan and have happy memories of your DS despite him being taken far, far too soon. (((Hugs)))
Belovéd and I have been very kindly invited up country for a weekend which is lovely, obviously, but after a frantic morning of running around sorting out things for the weekend we're both at the stage of thinking we'd quite like to stay home, really. Does that sound ungrateful? Either way, see you all on the other side.
Cool mug, Valli.

Morning. Hope you're all ok today and hopefully still in bed at this time.
I'm up super early as instructed by Poppet. DH has gone to paid stuff and will do the monthly big shop on his way home. The temperature today is expected to reach the heady high of ten degrees so I may try to get out in the garden after dog walk.
Have a great day everyone.

Morning all,
I hope the photos give you happy memories, Iona, for a life too short x Your cakes have me drooling, especially the German plum cake.
I forgot to post yesterday. From memory, I cleaned the spare room / craft room, got despondent about the clutter, then DD wanted to use it for her sewing work in progress, which conveniently ousted me. A couple of small things have left the house / made it to the cs bag which is a very small step in the right direction. DD and I had a trip to big town to stock her up with toiletries. We popped in to Mr L, and, as luck would have it, there was one bird feeder in the middle aisle. Mine had collapsed and been binned a couple of days ago, and the birds had been looking for it. The same birds that were nowhere to be seen for the bird count last week. They now have a sparkly new feeder so I trust they are grateful.
Today I don’t really have a plan as yet. It is bright and dry so I may take a wander round the garden or into the gh.
Have a good day all x

Painkillers taken.
More, different painkillers taken. This is ridiculous.
It's breezy and bright so I have washing on the line, although the ground doesn't look dry but the roofs do. DW (bottom rack) emptied. Mugs laid down so the scoopy bit on the bottom can drain. Fancy glasses (friends came round) washed; I got the good glasses out. DD back from travels but I never heard them get back…I'm capable of very deep sleep, me 😎. She has bought me a porcelain christmas tree bauble decorated with a snowman cos I have a thing for them. I have put it in the cabinet until I put the tree up.
Must take meter readings.

Me again. I have achieved a fair bit having got up early. Dog walk, dailies, cleaned windows in bedroom, dusted bedroom with duster on a stick, polished mirrors in bedroom. Sorted out all paperwork pertaining to pensions which is a huge frog at the moment. I will look through that later or maybe tomorrow. I spent a bit of time in the greenhouse and garden. The greenhouse is now tidy and three areas in the garden have been weeded.
Came in and had lovely soak in bath.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
Hallooooo!
My sleep clock is skewhiff. Falling asleep in the chair at 8.30 pm and wide awake at 5 am. Heyho.
Saturdailies have been completed and ticked off the list. I've also phoned the hairdresser's to rearrange my appointment - as she will not be available for my original appointment.
I completed Strands with no hints, completed Wordle in four, but only managed two lines on Connections.
It feels like a read-a-book afternoon to me.

Afternoon all. One washload done and dried indoors. Just normal tidying round and wiping down after meals etc. A little sweeping up in the garden (messy birds!). We had a walk this morning before it rained but it's quite chilly. Hope everyone's OK x
