Ha, Round, you are not alone! S’pose we can stay friends…😉. Just don’t look in my once tidy craft room boxes. Or the drawers, or the shelf unit. For some reason, I can suddenly only type double spaced. Not sure what that is about.
DD came home safely yesterday, no thanks to a bullying Aud! driver. I hope he is proud of his ridiculous driving and behaviour.
Feeling smug as I have just cleaned the ensuite, and then read the list. Tick. Not so happy that I now have plenty of time to do some admin, although last night I decided to try to learn to crochet, so that’s a good distraction-in-waiting.
I hope you have all emerged safely from the latest storm. HB, you OK?

I truly feel for you Valli. It sounds awful. I hope they can sort it out very quickly indeed. Lots of rest and as much pain relief as you can cram into yourself.
Ah yes, Round. The shelves in the cupboard under the front steps are like that, here. I've even bought more hooks recently to dangle stuff off the shelves they're so overloaded. One item at a time until you get to the boxes, the top box gets lifted out of the cupboard, and that's then emptied one item at a time. It's hard. Really hard tackling the collection you've carefully curated over the years but One Item At A Time does work as you know, and you've got us all cheering you on.
Thank you for the instructions Ionafan. I'd have panicked otherwise.
I'll be spending most of the day in the kitchen. Two flan cases will blind bake while I'm reheating some homemade lasagne tonight, but I also have to make Pea, Cucumber and Mint soup, and chocolate pots. Also, prep for taking this meal up country, not forgetting cheese biscuits etc. I was planning on making oatcakes, and then remembered I've got cheese biscuits in the food stash. Win:win.
While I'm cooking I think I'll do a bit of kitchen flying.

set alarm for 7:50 so i could ring GP. Got an appointment (but it would have been 111 if I hadn't) Wrote down what has happened so she could read it while I cried (again) and showed her list of meds taken
. She has prescribed codeine and naproxen and omeprazole to protect stomach. have now eaten (stomach-lining porrigde) and taken tablets.
I'm at the end of my tether, sleep very interrupted

I decluttered a hairbrush today. My hair is normally very short (no. 7 all over in winter, even shorter in summer) so I rarely use a brush, but it needed a bit of taming today. As I brushed, the rubber "bed" holding the bristles in the wooden handle disintegrated, so the brush has been binned. My hair may not be very tidy, but it will have to do! I'm not buying another one - I do have an all-plastic brush in the bathroom drawer.
Glad to hear the surgery was helpful and the doc sympathetic, Valli. Brrrrrrrr! to the ice pack! xx

We're fine thanks Fayolle. We lost a big blue pot in the last big storm but other than that we're good here.
More *healing vibes* heading your way Valli.
Belovéd has collected the fixed car so we can go away for the weekend. The alternator had seized, hence the smoke coming from under the engine. £££ but the car's not been much of a bother over the years so all things considered it's not that bad.
Lots of stuff in the kitchen done but not as much as I should have done.

Afternoon all. One washload done and all dry. I dusted, polished and vacuumed all through the house. Went out for a walk and we saw three of my dog "friends" so that made me happy. Did some tidying in the garden, a little cutting back, some sweeping and scrubbing up bird poo.
Glad you could see a doctor Valli, hope it helps.

So I'm still out of action having been really poorly this week. However, I want to get back on with things so it's not too overwhelming when I start again.
Other than the day to day basics, what other easy task(s) would you be able to do which might lift your spirits. I'm feeling pretty frustrated if I'm honest.

Round you are definitely amongst friends, who doesn't have a cupboard like that? The trick is not to try and do it all at once. And Valli I hope things are improving with the tooth xx
Twinkle is there a small area, a shelf, cupboard or drawer that you could sort? I am thinking something that's not too taxing but where you can start and finish it in one go and make a big impression. That might give you a sense of achievement but otherwise go easy on yourself if you haven't been well xx
I managed the dentist yesterday and taking the car into the garage today without having a meltdown. Get me. Tired tonight, had a weird dream about being taken into hospital last night which was a bit disturbing. No idea where that came from.
Have been keeping on top of Flying, need to see if the WM has finished and load the airer. Early night I think.
