I also received a letter, and I too was none the wiser what the policy was for. Glad I googled and joined this forum because reading Naturelover7's comment I can now rest easy. Checked my files and yes the insurance was for Double Glazing Guarantee in 2016, via Consumer Protection Association.2

I also received this letter, no idea what it was for. But thanks for this thread will follow.0

Received letter from pwc this morning ref Elite Insurance Administration
I have managed to trace back to a policy of insurance given when purchasing Double glazing in 2013
The Insurer was:
Elite Insurance company Ltd
Issac Newton Way
Grantham
Linconshire
NG31 9RT2 -
Received the same letter. After reading responses above I investigated old house improvements. Bingo! It relates to a 10 year guarantee for a conservatory we had built 9 years ago. Suppose it would be best to register my interest in case. Weight off my mind knowing it's not a scam or anything.1

Today I also received two letters re Elite Insurance from PVC. One addressed to both myself and my husband and a second addressed to just my husband. Reading through the comments to try and gain more information as I’ve no idea what they relate to either.0

On the letter from PWC it has a policy reference number, how do I use that to track what policy was for?0

Having just gone through renovation paperwork now I have found out that one of the policies relates to French doors which we had fitted on 17/3/17.
Many thanks for the helpful comments which alerted me to the fact that it was window/double glazing related!0 -
Thankyou to all contributors for the helpful comments. By a process of elimination I have determined that this was almost certainly an insurance underwriting, for double glazing installation back in 2011. I think that after 14 years and no reason for claims I can rest easy0

We also bought double glazing some 12 years ago, so I'm going with: that's what it's about. And I'm guessing that the insurance was probably for no more than 10 years. So, as I have no ongoing claims for the windows & it's undoubtedly too late for a new claim, I'm going to disregard the letter; it's very unlikely to actually be relevant to me, just a way for PWC to justify their undoubtedly large fees!0

So glad I’ve seen your posts. I thought it was a scam at first, but after reading these posts I can confirm that ours too was for double glazing installed 8 and 10 years ago. Interestingly we had a conservatory installed in 2019 and the insurer for that is another company also based in Gibraltar! I’ve kept the letter but due the age of the windows I don’t think I’ll register to only receive a steam of legal documents I don’t understand for windows soon to be out of guarantee1
