Big hugs, Round xx Thank you for the much needed coffee as well.
Yesterday was more productive than I had intended (I set the bar low!), but today is following a slow start. Wm x 1 has run, yesterday’s dry washing folded and onto the ironing pile, a forgotten corner of the LR relieved of horribly thick cobwebs as I moved the grandmother clock which has stood there since my dad died…12 years ago! Those were some cobwebs. I need to make 2 more cards today to go with the 2 made yesterday afternoon. This is all using bits and bobs from my mum’s stash…she died 11 years ago! I am, in reality, diverting myself from being lured in to buy more wool which is in a sale.

Morning all, It's another stormy day, therefore not much will get done outdoors.
My list for today
Make a start on uni prep for next week
Load the DW and switch it on
Make a start on a motivational board
Take DD to the stables so she can feed and check on her pony
HHI
Sort bags, clothes and lunches for tomorrow
I think that is everything that I need to tackle today. I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday/weekend.6 -
afternoon all
pain much less and therefore more manageable

Glad to hear you're on the mend Valli.More (((hugs))) for Round.Second batch of yoghurt is in the slow cooker, first lot is draining and cooling in the fridge, both made with out of date longlife milk (7.11.25). Ooops. All the Seville Orange Marmalade I made with Demerara sugar has been chucked. It's too sweet for Belovéd and the idiot who said to mix up the sugars and try something different - you get Nil Points. It wasn't a Flylady, or on MSE, it came from a reputable recipe book. Not the first SO marmalade recipe I've tried that hasn't yielded a successful result. It's last year's batch so I'm not that bothered and it frees up a bit of space and some jars, so it's A Good Thing it's been binned. We've got plenty of h/m jam and marmalade to keep us going.Second bird feeder put back together so I can refill it when one of the others needs to come in for an empty and wash. I think this one is now so rusty around the bottom that I probably won't bother to wash it out again. Another (future) *fling* but I'm not getting rid of it while it's clean! The cat knocked over a glass of red wine last night so that needed dealing with, which resulted in a lot of towels and microfibre cloths being used. There's a brief window of opportunity to get a load washed and hung outside, so I've scratched the plans for a white or dark load and done towels, cleaning clothes and tea towels, which are now dangling. It's a beautiful day with blue skies and Simpson's clouds floating by. Lovely. I'm making the most of it as it's going to rain again tomorrow and the next day and the next ....D/W has been run and unloaded, haggis removed from the freezer and all the veggies to go with it. The haggis has been hanging around since Burn's Night 2025 so that frees up a chunk of space in the meat drawer. I'm getting there.Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.6

Afternoon all. So sorry to read about Joey, Round. I'm glad you got to spend time together even though it wasn't long enough xxOne washload done and mostly dried, just two bathtowels finishing off. Roast dinner prepared, cooked, eaten and cleared up. The house stinks of cauliflower now. I do love cauliflower but it don't half stink! I've got a wax melt on the go so I hope things will improve.Glad your mouth is on the mend Valli xAnd that's about it. Hope everyone's OK x6

Sorry to hear about Joey, Round, it always very sad losing a furry or feathered family member.
Yesterday didn't go quite as planned as DD dragged me into town so it was lovely to spend some time with her, and DDIL and DGS 'bumped' into us. I'm such a softy as DGS wanted the trainers like his friends, the black ones with the white tick! Mummy hadn't found nay others he liked and had his heart set on these ones so Grammy paid. He's 5 and whilst he has no idea of the branding, he is being influenced by his peers. DGD also needed an umbrella (kicks stink out of the rain cover now at 2!) so I ended up paying for that too as cant buy something for one without the other (even tho' there was a huge difference in price
)
A food shop was done and a fridge sort, disposed of a few things that were past their best before dinner. DW loaded and then a little more sorting in my room and some more money shuffling. Now looking into different savings accounts to maximise interest on new and existing funds.
Today awoke to dog who I knew with her one sad look was about to chuck so swiftly moved the throw underneath her. That was the first wash so used it as an opportunity to strip my bed and get that in. Need to switch that over as I'm sure load 2 will be done by now.
Also sorted some boxed up bedding and pillows to see what I have for the new room. The quilt is a king size and wont do for the single bed and the pillows are pretty grim (I'm sure they didn't look that bad when packed away) so they will probably have to be disposed of in place of new.
Have reconciled all accounts today so up to date, just need to nip to the bank in the week in a lunch break to get this months cash out.
Need to order my curtain pole and may see if I can get DGD into the car tomorrow to go to Dunelm to look at bedding.
Roast Chicken dinner tonight so will need to meal plan the leftovers in at some point using what I have in the cupboards rather than buying something new.
Time for a cuppa now I think

Woman down. Lurgy hit. Awful head cold and sinusitis.
DH has however, sold a kids chair mine haven't used for years - one of those ikea Poang ones. So that's additional space cleared.
Mostly outside of that, it's just been trying to keep my head above water and survive if I'm being 100% honest. This week has been a struggle. However, because I've been flying/TOMing the house actually isn't in that bad of a state. The worst hit bit is the laundry if I'm honest.
I did use my time constructively though. I designed an Annual Leave spreadsheet to help me keep track of my leave and forecast for when I want to take it for the year ahead. I've moved DS1's passport application forward - just need to post the docs tomorrow now (birth certificates). I've also started work on the scary brown envelop for DS1 as well. I bloomin hate that. I'm hoping this time it will come back the same and stay with him until he's 16 so I don't have to do it again.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.84 December 25
