Our swimming towels are washed and drying on the heated airer
Cleaned and organised one of the bathroom cabinets
scrubbed 1 wall of tiles in the bathroom - decided that was enough for today 🙃
s&s bathroom and cleaned the bathroom floor
i also made a very nice cake which used up some werth ers soft caramels which were very sticky and an elderly resident of the fruit bowl (an apple). I made an all in one cake mix with a sprinkle of cinammon and I put a layer of thinly sliced apple and toffees in the middle. Lo and behold a toffee apple cake. Really pleased with it and our visitor enjoyed a slice with their coffee this morning. I've made it before using the unloved toffee pennies from the QS tub.

My DH would fight you for those toffee pennies Blackcats :-D I can take them or leave them.6

I like how everyone has their particular likes and dislikes in a tin of sweets. I'm not sure that our teeth and toffee pennies would be a good match 🙀7

Sorry to hear you've had to say goodbye to a tooth, Valli :'( I hope the pain is well under control now (and that the mouse took advantage of the open patio door!)
Well done to eltee2, Jazee, Fayolle, HB and Pollybear for a productive day. How annoying to have missed the bus by a couple of minutes, HB.
Early this morning DH had a clinic appointment, so I got on with the usual dailies, did WMx1 and hung most of it on the radiators in the bathroom, and sorted the forthcoming events on the church website. At 11.45 I suggested to DH that we went up to the Forest so that Rosie could have a nice quiet walk. We were there by 12.15; by 1.00 I had walked Rosie in light drizzle; we enjoyed delicious toasties for lunch in the lovely dog-friendly cafe - and Rosie had her usual dog sausage, which she was very excited about
We were home again by 2.30, but it was just the boost that I needed. Since then I've tackled some banking admin that arrived in the post while we were out, and that is enough computer work for me today. While we watch Traitors and LLF this evening I'm hoping to finish knitting the button band on the baby cardigan that is part of my strategy to use up my wool stash, and maybe do the rest of the sewing up too.

Didnt get on last night as by the time I finished work, got tea sorted and watched Traitors I only had time to sort the bathroom where I had previously had to empty the cupboards for the builder to move and do a bit or work. Cupboards refilled and bathroom cleaned before bed.
Today has been another day at the paid job and having been out of the house for 10 hours I was raging to come in and see that DH had not even managed to wash up the stuff in the sink from breakfast and his and DD's lunches. I made a point by starting it before DH had made me a cuppa. I also decided that I wasnt sorting anything for tea, every day he is at home and does minimal to help with keeping the house up to scratch.
I had toast for tea and am now watching tonights episode then I will head up and sort some stuff in the bedroom. I do have a lot of clothes that need putting away.
Valli, hope you are feeling better. I've had numerous probs with my teeth and I know that you can take 2 paracetamol and 2 ibuprofen together for severe pain. I have used that combination for dental abscess pain and to manage my migraines too.
I also need to start on another cake topper that my line manager wants me to make for our colleague who will be starting mat leave soon, I can start that while I am watching the TV.Mortgage, paid off!7 -
Morning all, It's a rather stormy and wet day here.
My list for today
Do paid stuff
Attend uni lecture
Do the required work on uni assignment
Start planning a motivational board
Update Mr T order for delivery tomorrow
Take DD to her tutor
Take DD to the stables so she can check on and feed her pony
I think that is everything that I need to tackle today. I hope everyone has a lovely Friday

Tooth news - thanks for the well wishes - still uncomfortable. Might actually be the jaw that's hurting, having borne the full force of the dentist burrowing around. I've taken parrots, I can take ibuprofen when I eat but my tablet regime means that won't be just yet.
Mouse was hiding behind the new unit, DD spotted it's tail hanging down so lots of prodding with long duster/radiator brush with the door open until it dropped down and ran out. Patted self on back for buying a unit we can get under to remove Poppy's lost and forgotten mice. They could hide under the old one - and it was apparent they had when we removed it ...
My friend and I are planning a trip to Birmingham as I want to see the Pre-Raphaelite art there. I'm fairly sure we have Flyladies in the locale - any tips on anything else worth a visit/look?
DW, WM and TD have all done their duty. Ironing was up to date too.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Morning all. Two loads of washing done including the rest of the bedding. Most of it dry and the rest is on the airer by the dehumidifier. Been out twice, once for the newspaper (in the rain and wind) and then later for a little walk where it rained very briefly. The sun is out at present but it's cooler than yesterday and I'm not sure it looks very settled. Not much else going on. Hope everyone's OK x6

Weather here pretty vile and due to get much worse later, so we'll be getting a taxi to the cinema (Hamnet) when the storm's full force will be venting.Dog food weighed out and boxed for the next 10 days, computer tech has visited and my main computer has had open heart surgery and is now on life support but functioning. He'll be back in a few days to insert an appropriate sized transformer as this one is too large. As long as thing works, I can work so I'm fine with that. The morning will be spent tidying and doing a bit of Flying to get the place into some kind of semblance of order. When I get busy and/or tired I Dump and Run, and if I nip this week's D&R Collections now, we'll go into the weekend with the house in better shape, which means I can ask Belovéd to do the small jobs he's better at doing than me, and not spend his Flying time vacuuming. What I have discovered that's been really helpful through the mix of last year's declutter January and tidying/sorting is that if I leave space in cupboards and drawers I can put things away without having to cram everything in. It sounds trivial but up to very recently I've been working on the idea that if I could cram stuff in, that was good enough. What it led to was not being able to cram more stuff in to put it away, which meant that my D&R Collections spread like a high spring tide in every room. Which leads to:This Year's Flying Ambition: There will be space in every drawer including the filing cabinet, every box, every tray, every cupboard, every shelf and every other storage space, so that I can always put things away.I'm working on a few other sort of new year resolutions and thus far have stuck with them:- use MSE/Martin to reduce the mobile phone bill from £14+/month to £1.35/month for 6 months, thereafter £4.90/month;- no more boxes of tissues, use handkerchiefs;- no idling in supermarkets (including the local Co-0p) so that I spend more money than I need to because something might be useful;- eat the food stores down. The mobile phone transfer happened over new year, there is space in a couple of the freezer drawers and the Cupboard of Doom in my office, and the handkerchief thing is going okay. That's progress, and money saved.Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.6
