HB, hope this works…https://thegoodlifefrance.com/sarlat-potatoes-pommes-de-terres-sarladaises/

This made me hunt for my old French cookery book from the Périgord. It proved elusive so I thought it must have gone in one of my cookery book culls, but I have just found it. Never fear, another cookery book that survived 🙄
Flying has occurred. DR and utility cleaned. Cooker hood filters scrubbed and reassembled. Hall floor mopped (yes, really🤣). Various other odd jobs ticked off. Definitely a case of action promoting motivation.7 -
Afternoon all. One washload done and dried indoors except for DH's jeans which aren't quite there yet. Been out for a walk and coffee with DD1. It was damp and foggy this morning, then it cleared up and now it's raining. At least it's not especially cold or icy.Not much else going on. Hope everyone's OK x8

Been to outswim cancer. Not washed swim stuff yet as DD is going swimming after work so two biords and all that.
Am much envious of those who have pegged out washing - here it is far too damp; so much so that I have sponged my table cloth (not allowed in TD) and will fold it shortly.

Done rather well, ended up emptying a bigger-than-small-box box from front room CoD and a really small box, plus overspill, from the kitchen cupboard.
After relocation /flingage/ amalgamation, ended up with less stuff all fitting nicely into 2 smaller boxes now back in the kitchen cupboard:
• 2 hair grip grabby things - relocated to hair-stuff box in the bedroom
• 4× mini-packs of tissues - relocated to the tissue storage area (half a shelf in OH's cupboard)
• Some OOD medical bits & bobs, now in a bag by the front door ready to take to pharmacy for disposal
• In date medical bits & bobs amalgamated and back in the kitchen cupboard
• A couple of receipts so old the writing has faded - fling!!
• 3 elastic bands, all dried out and unuseable - fling!!
• Plasters which have escaped from wrapping and all grubby - fling!!

Thanks Fayolle. I'll give both of those a try at some stage. We've got a lot of duck fat left over which I've frozen in 100ml storage boxes so we can use it as and when.Well done on the tackling the CoD Eltee. I've found that breaking anything down into the tiniest of steps makes the impossible and overwhelming possible which is how I'm able to tackle all the horrible jobs. Trying to do all of it in one hit would defeat me before I started.Crate removed from bedroom and shunted into my office because I can't remember how to collapse it so that it can go back up to the attic. The corner of the bedroom, from the beginning of the window, round to Belovéd's beside table has been dealt with and it took all day. I didin't dust the top of the curtain rail or the lampshade but I did do the window and wash down all the paintwork so it all looks a lot better. And I have space in my office where the bedside table had to be kept while the crate was in use, so I can FINALLY get into the now-sorted CoD without having to move things. Lots of things have been rehomed and flung, at last. Now that Wren is allowed to sleep on the bed the crate really isn't being used but we need to keep it long term.Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.5

We had a delivery of a new mattress this morning and a washing machine this afternoon so today has been a bit of a mix and match approach.
the old mattress is wrapped in the plastic that the new mattress came in and is ready for collection tomorrow.
i put some pretty pastel bedlinen on the bed which gives the impression of Spring being very close.
cleaned the bedroom blind and dusted window ledge and drawers.
re-organised a drawer that was very higgledy piggeldy. It's the tights and socks drawer so it was a tangled mess. Looks beautiful now so I'm hoping the tights have been tamed and keep themselves to themselves in the drawer 😉
the cupboard under the sink was emptied ready to plumb in the new washing machine so it's now clean and organised.
pleased with progress today. Time for a cuppa now.8 -
Evening all. I've only skim read so hopefully you're all good. Thanks for the list.
Today was grandchildren day so I only did dailies, dog walk, hoovering and changed bedding. Hoping to achieve more tomorrow. We went to a great activity centre today and I had a go on a climbing wall. Absolutely loved it.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
Evening ladies,
Thanks Natty and Valli for the lists and apologies for falling over last week and disappearing. Combination of trying to get the Peppa Pig cake topper bits n pieces made on my ageing and failing laptop, and migraines all week, which took a lot of time and stress. The extent of which was purchasing a new laptop on Saturday, of course done MSE style £600 with £100 off on the website, 10% off with bluelight discount, and then getting DD to purchase a discounted gift card netted a further 6%, so happily typing away on my new much faster laptop.
Today's tasks were mostly centred at DS house, school runs for DGS, occupying DGD on her second birthday (party was yesterday and cake looked lovely) with cooking - HM chicken nuggets for lunch and choc chip cookies for after. Lots of kitchen chores completed over there, and once home exercises done, dinner cooked and washed up with a S/S of the kitchen.
DS has given me an oak corner cabinet which we managed to lift into the car quite easily but I struggled to get it out with DH and an attempt to even start getting it up the stairs was abandoned as it wasn't going well. Then DH admits he has made himself a Dr's appointment as he thinks he has a hernia. So the lovely Oak unit will live in the hallway until I can get someone to take it up the stairs into the new room where it will hold DD's teddy bears!
DH did 2 loads of my washing and dried and folded it for me today which is a first in a long time since he shrunk on of my expensive wool jumpers in the TD! I will take it all up in a bit and have an early night before the paid stuff tomorrow.
Mortgage, paid off!7 -
- went to DanceFit
- went to Alexander session
- went to zumba
- waterways chaplain came to collect pressure cooker for a boater who cooks for a group to use. It's certainly been a good last few days for decluttering; long may it continue.
- lady from village came to see if she could repair our lounge/diner curtains; while old, the fabric is still great but the headers and eyelets need replacing. She's going to send me a quote but at least didn't take one look and run away.
- knitted a bit more of a glove.
- written a session plan for tomorrow's student.
- wudupa apart from one pan and the grillpan which are soaking.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
It's tough getting rid of the past but it does free up space for the future.8
