Morning all, It's a rather dark and damp start to the day here.
My list for today
Do paid stuff
Attend uni lectures
Spend an hour on volunteer admin
Catch up with phone calls that I need to make
Make a payment on cc
Dust the living room
Hoover the living room
Sort through pile that is at the side of the sofa
Check for tracking on my new mobile
Finish uni prep for tomorrow
Take DD to the stables so she can feed and check on her pony
I think that is everything that I need to tackle today. I hope everyone has a lovely Tuesday7 -
Morning all. Wordle in three, two lines on connections, strands with no hints.
So far today I have changed sofa throws - previous ones have just finished in machine - and from the list I've cleaned the windows and sills in the living room.
Next is washing up my breakfast dishes then some admin updates including a phone call I don't really want to do.
Have a great day everyone.

Afternoon all,
I went to small town to run a couple of errands first thing. Grrr, the new watch battery in DD’ s watch isn’t working, but then maybe it was never the battery in the first place. Wm x 2 done including the changed bedding. The washing is indoors, although it is blowing a gale outside, so with double pegging it may just stay on and dry out there. Bedroom dusted after changing the bed, then I moved onto the spare / craft room. So much dust! DD has decluttered a few books, so I even dusted the high shelves where technically I can’t see so the dust isn’t there 🙄.
I am going to spend another burst of energy on cleaning the fireplace, bit by bit. Then it is on to the bookcase of doom. This is current
y in the LR but as we might move it to the landing, it will need emptying at the very least. Another bit by bit mini project.6 -
Me again!
Admin done and phone call made which like all frogs was actually pretty straightforward. Then from the list I've cleaned the front door inside and out, cleaned under all furniture in living room and hall which then lead to more sweeping and vacuuming and have done dailies. Waited in for parcel then took Poppet for a short walk - her choice.
I'm just having a quick lunch and soon I'm off to my exercise class.Spend less now, work less later.6 -
We had that yesterday - the mist never lifted and it was most depressing. However, three of the Old Wives came round after lunch for tea/freshly baked scones/chat, which was great. Two I have known for 50+ years and the other for about 35, and all good friends, so we had a lot of laughs as well as catching up on family news.MinnieMousesMummy said:It's a rather dark and damp start to the day here.
Today's weather, in complete contrast to yesterday, has brought us lovely sunshine, though with a stiff breeze. Rosie and I have been out for a walk to the Covert for the first time this year, and on the way bumped into L who was walking a handful of Rosie's friends. Of course Rosie got an extra treat off L!
I have made my bed, cleaned the bathroom, S&S'd the kitchen, PUPA in the LR: I had cleaned all through downstairs yesterday, and even my study is acceptably tidy. I've also prepped my bag for Knit & Natter this afternoon, done some online jigsaws and watered all the houseplants. My old amaryllis - 6 or 7 of them - are beginning to show signs of life, so I hope to have a succession of lovely flowers. The new one that DD gave me for Christmas, which is covered in wax and "needs no watering", is already about a foot tall and has two buds
Once it has flowered I shall make sure it is released from its overcoat and well fed and watered.
From where I'm sitting, I can see that the hazel catkins on the tree by the back fence are getting longer, and the snowdrops in the front garden are going to be in flower next week, if they don't get snowed on. Spring is definitely on the way.
DH has just come home from SW so I must go and make lunch and then get out the milk and coffee and be on my way to K&N.
I hope your day is going as well as mine xxx6 -
Afternoon all. Usual dailies done but not enough washing for a load today. Went out for a gift card to go in with my DGD2's birthday present and that's wrapped and the card written too. Her birthday is next month but I can get rid of the parcel when we're over there on Saturday. For several years I've been moaning because I can never remember which of two particular drawers a jumper is in, then it occurred to me I could empty both drawers, put all the jumpers in one drawer and the rest of the stuff in the other. Shame it took me so long to do something so obvious. They should call me Winnie, I'm a bear of very little brain!Hope everyone's OK x7

Afternoon,
Didn't get much done yesterday as I had my GS but DD2 came over to help so she was also able to help me (or should I say I helped her) change my old mattress for a new one that her friend and husband gave me. So I obviously stripped the bed and washed the bedding, pillows, mattress topper and protector. All of which I could TD.
Today I've put the washing away, put the DW on and put another load on to wash.
My Dad turned up while I was eating my breakfast with a empty cardboard for me, he's been saving them for me and a small electric heater for me. My dad has a habit of wanting and making my Mum buy things from brochures through the post, and because of my Dad's brain damage its easier for my mum to just do it and save the arguments and as she says it's his money. Anyway it's probably been brought and left in the spare room so now I have it. It will definitely be handy so I don't have to have the heating on but it is the 4th heater he's given me. One broke, one I have and use and the other I gave to DD2 as its a fan heater which is safer with her naughty young cat.
I had the job centre today so took 2 bags of donations for the charity shop with me and dropped them in on the way as DD2 was helping out today. After a bit of shopping and the job centre I then went back to the shop to pick up a ottoman/storage box DD2 managed to get free off FB for me and brought that home on the bus! Hopefully we'll be able to sort GS's toys into it so I can get rid of the big cardboard box. I'll probably reuse that for stuff in the attic.
Washing on the airer, a woolly wash just put on. I'll unload the DW while dinner is cooking.

I registered the new washing machine to activate the guarantee and politely declined to sign up for a monthly insurance payment
dusted the tv and the glass front to the fireplace
wiped over the front door and doorstep and felt very domesticated
got a bag ready for taking to CS later this week
tidied the herb and spice shelf

The weather here is really grim, and the forecast is that it will be just as bad tomorrow. I've got laundry draped in the kitchen from yesterday which I think will be dry by this evening. Some dusting and vacuuming has happened but, after yesterday's marathon, not a lot. I want to keep u[ doing five minutes a day of each because it's making quite a difference and I can force myself to do that much most days.Pulled together a cheese and shallot flan to go in the pastry case I blind baked yesterday. I thought the mixture was a bit thick until I realised I hadn't added the eggs. Doh! Fortunately it was before I poured the mix into the flan case.I've spent most of the day steadily working through the mound of paperwork on my desk including some for the Foodbank. I've already binned one personal job because it was just too complicated for the payoff and I'm now at the stage of the day when anything I tackle now has to be straightforward.Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.6
