It must be such a relief to you now the visit is over and things have been put in motion to get you some help. It's almost always never as bad as we fear but almost impossible to believe that beforehand when the anxiety has a grip. Please feel free to PM me if you want to talk further off the site. Take care sweetheart xxx

Yay, LM, you did it! :D I'm very pleased that you got over today's hurdle and that the future is looking brighter for you than it was a couple of days ago. It won't be easy, we all know that, not least you, but you've taken the first little step. :)

    Well done you! :T

LM I just had a thought and I maybe way off the mark here but I think it's worth mentioning.

I have suffered from depression for quite a few years (though nothing as serious as your problems I will admit), Like you my condition can be"variable" good days and bad days. I often found that a good day where I had taken control and pushed myself would invariably be followed by a really bad day. I would get up think "yay I did so well yesterday" feel crap when I realised I couldn't better it or some days even match it, which would send me back in to black cloud mode and back to square one :(

You have done SO well over the last few days and made massive steps to getting the support you deserve, if you do feel up to making another step in that direction tomorrow then obviously grab it with both hands and act on it. If you don't then please come back here and read the latter half of this thread so you can see how much progress you have already made then give yourself a big pat on the back, tell us all how you are feeling (if you want to) and realise that such a big effort sometimes takes a little while to come to terms with ;)

Good luck hun and I really hope you wake up tomorrow feeling very proud of yourself.
  • Even if I did write a letter, how would I post it?
I don't live near a letterbox and I suffer from agoraphobia so leaving the house is horrendous to me.
I don't see any friends or anything so I couldn't get anyone to post it for me.
If you haven't had agoraphobia it is easy to overlook these things. I fight my agoraphobia and anxieties every day, and it is sort of embarassing trying to explain why little things take so much out of me, even 'just' posting a letter! A lot of people just don't get it. I also have few visitors or family, and that complicates everything so much. I have an incapacity/income support interview looming. The form was sent off before Xmas and I am REALLY wondering if I can go to the actual interview. It'd be my 3rd one, but that's no consolation!
I think the only answer is to have outside help that you can email or phone when you have to, and get this stuff sorted. Citizens Advice is a good idea.
Sending all fellow sufferers my best wishes:smiley:
