wendywitch, you have done a lot more flying today than I have, so please don't beat yourself up!
I was woken up at 8am by the sound of breaking glass - our council recycling team (aka bagmen) were emptying the contents of our neighbours' bags and boxes into the back of their lorry. Yesterday (Monday) DH said that he needed to put our recycling out for collection as he had received an email from the council saying that it would be collected today (Tuesday) as the teams were catching up with missed collections over the holidays. I was very sceptical because they usually take ours on a Friday. I checked my account on the council website, which said that the date of our next recycling collection would be Friday 23 January, so DH didn't do anything. Of course I was in the doghouse this morning when I explained what had happened, even though I apologised profusely. Somehow DH (who doesn't pay any of the council bills) had got himself onto a mailing list and I hadn't, so that had to be remedied.
After doing that, I spent almost an hour trying to sort out another conundrum with my overlapping WDYTYA magazine subscriptions. Eventually I got through to a very nice woman who explained what I had to do, and I've now passed the baton to DS1 who will deal with it because it was the gift subscription that he had bought for me.
I am following Diane in Denmark's 2026 quick daily challenge on YouTube. Yesterday she challenged us to clear any surface, so that was easy (kitchen worktop after DH had made breakfast!), and today we had to put away 10 things anywhere in the house that were out of place - that was a bit harder as I had already S&S'd the kitchen, made my bed and done a 5 minute PUPA in the LR, but I did find 10 more items and I did put them away. Then I dusted the LR and did a quick hoover.
This afternoon I have been knitting and nattering at church with two friends. I carried on knitting earlier this evening when I was on the weekly WA video call with my young friend and her daughter, so I've decluttered half of a part-used ball of blue wool and hope I've got enough left the finish off a pair of child's mittens, to be donated to a local charity. I just hope there's enough wool left for the second hand. S--'s law says there won't be.
DH went out to play trains at his model railway club and isn't home yet, but I'm going to finish cooking tea (the chicken has been in the slow cooker for 3 hours) and eat mine now because I'm hungry. Fortunately he knows how to use the microwave.7 -
@ionafan - I've been enjoying the Diane in Denmark little daily challenges too.
So today I've PUPA 10 things that were loitering in the wrong place
hoovered
re-arranged the hall and just moving the shoe rack into another place has made such a difference
I put a hanging air freshener that we got from the car wash in the hall on the coat rack so it's unobtrusive but the hall smells nice and fresh
s and s the bathroom
changed the towels, previous towels washed and on the airer

Morning everyone 👋🏼..
Still feeling absolutely rotten 😖 the runny nose seems to have switched to a stuffy one.. 🙄
Breakfast done (hot honey tea for me)
Lunchboxes made, peeps gone to work
DW emptied and started to re-fill
Washing x 2 loads done, 1 in tumble 1 on airier with dehumidifier going..
Kitchen swished as best as..
DS1 did take rubbish and recycling out 🥳
Had enough now, could easily fall asleep sat up 😑
So much I want to do, yet my body is saying “not a chance missy” so I shall now snuggle on the sofa for an hour or so with the cats!@ionafan, our rubbish/recycling collections aren’t too bad, not often we get a missed collection, though they do leave our cardboard every now and again if they get too full 😬 that said, they’ve started messing about with our garden waste collection dates and that had both me and my mum in a right fuddle.. (I’ve now downloaded their new calendar..) trying to get 2 peoples dates right can lead to a pickle every now and again 🤣"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇

*Healing vibes* heading your way Madam Mim. I had to throw in the towel fairly early yesterday and it did me the world of good, so I hope you let yourself rest after you've done any essentials. The only essential I didn't do yesterday was nip up to the attic and drag a bit of scrap underlay (underlay! underlay!) out, along with a bit of scrap new carpet. We had some manky bits of carpet replaced in December and these two offcuts were so large that they were pretty much perfect the bit between the two front doors (normally referred to here as the airlock) and it's been in my diary for today for a month. I didn't think the fitter would turn up, but he did. Fortunately he phoned around the time I got the scraps down from the attic so I had a chance to clear the airlock out, dust and wash the paintwork at floor level. He's been, done the job and I've got to do a bit more cleaning and then Belovéd and I can work through all the gibble I removed to see what we actually want to keep out there and hopefully let some of it go.I'm not sure I've got the energy and motivation to do the rest of it, as there's a Cupboard of Doom in there as well, but that could wait. I'll see.I've already done my 5 minutes dusting and 5 minutes vacuuming, and the next 5 minutes will be spent in that area so my Flying Tick Box daily thing is actually achieved. I'll do a bit more anyway so that I can stay on top of the bits that aren't too bad, rather than leave them until the weekend.A project I thought I'd been able to disown is very firmly back on my desk, so I've dealt with the Incoming.Better is good enough.Note to self: Motivation follows Action, not the other way around.5

Afternoon all, I've had a busy start to the day as I was invigilating exams at a local school.
My list for today
Invigilate an exam at local school
Do the required uni work
Attend meeting with uni year tutor
Look for the letter that is needed for the benefits application
Spend an hour on volunteer admin
Fill the DW and switch on
Do paid stuff
Dust the living room
HHI
Take DD to the stable so she can feed and check on her pony
I think that is everything that I need to tackle today. I hope everyone has a lovely Wednesday.6 -
Afternoon all - hugs, healing vibes, gws and sticks now eminating from the 'saahf'
Need to ramble a bit to clear my head, apologies.
I read somewhere that motivation follows action, and when I thought about it I realised it does happen. For me, I have especially good results with indoor flying after I've had a gardening session. I also get good results when I pack OH off to the pub (action) and I can get on with things uninterrupted (motivation).
I need to get up off my shiny fat post-Christmas/week away arxs and get back into a routine, so today will be...
✔️Open windows
✔️Air & remake bed
✔️Exercises
WM, Line dry, TD to finish
✔️DW
Go for a walk (today's action), which should motivate me into....
Bathroom L1, 2 & 3

Afternoon all,
GWS vibes heading to those who need them. Eltee, I read that too, on another forum I think. It made sense rather than being round the other way. For me, the action has a battle to get past the procrastination… HB, I found some ood cashew nuts (quite a few bags actually 😳) in my pantry CoD last year and have worked through them. I’m still here to tell the tale, but then I am always a best before date sceptic. I use cashew nuts a lot in stir fries.
Yesterday was a bit of a flying write off, but we are now the proud owners of a carpeted landing and stairs. The hallway is hard flooring. Very pleased with the result. Today a friend came for coffee which we switched to a long walk ( about 5 miles I think) as it was such a lovely morning - blue sky, very frosty, and darn cold! Before she came I removed an embarrassingly large amount of dust from our bedroom with the duster and the vacuum cleaner. Whoops. I also dusted the dining room, from Monday’s list. I have just kicked myself into action to clean the ensuite, now I need to finalise tomorrow’s Mr M delivery. I have about 5 significant jobs to get to grips with, including the pantry cupboard inventory. I will aim for one a day to see the back of them, but can’t promise this will work as a strategy.6 -
Our walk included a top-up shop, dropping off 2 bagfuls to the clothes recycling and donating a camera to CS.eltee2 said:

I posted about it because knowing it's made such a difference to me, and I thoght it might help other Flyladies.Honey_Bear said:Motivation follows Action.
