Really enjoying the weekend so far - this christmas and new year has been mad for me with lots of visits and nights away so its lovely to have a whole weekend here and I am not planning on doing anything that involves spending money for a change:rolleyes: My car went in for a new clutch and service and despite it still being under warranty it was over £500    could have done without that one. On top of that my PC is in the puter hospital having major surgery atm and I have no idea how much that little visit is going to cost but I suspect I wont be pleasantly surprised
Anyway I didnt emerge from under the duvet until 10.30 this morning  and that was only because my neighbour decided that was the right time to come and ask me to dog sit  so when I have got round to getting dressed (which could be a while) I will go and pick and him up and take him for long walk (the dog not the neighbour:rotfl: ) hes a very cute yorkie so I enjoy having his company and it gets my lazy legs and a$$ moving:j
Other plans for the weekend include finally getting the decs into the attic as they are really annoying me now, have a bit of an iron maybe and a paperwork declutter and tonight I am going to cook myself a sad solo christmas dinner with a chicken breast I have lurking around the freezer, some sausage and bacon and a shed load of roasties:D(suppose Ill nip and get some veg too at some point) cant wait:j
Right its time to [strike]contemplate my navel[/strike] get dressed and moving
Hugs to all the sickies and all the wellies (and I dont mean boots:D )

Aaaahhh - enjoy your nest, Haribo
Lazy morning for me. Papers in bed until 10am, then leisurely breakfast with the Guardian puzzles. I have broccoli soup and HP rolls for lunch, then pork and carrot pasta sauce in the Rayburn for tea. DD is off to the cinema then to sleep at a friend's tonight, so DS will be teaching DH to play Carcassonne (and DS will win :T :rotfl: ).
DH has collected a load of firewood from friends this morning, so we'll spend an hour this afternoon stacking that.
For anyone who didn't see my chook thread, the hens laid us their first eggs yesterday :j :j :j How are yours Pen Pin? Any more visits from Mr F
Off to serve lunch, have a great day, Penny. x:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Hi all........................just finished taking down the decorations and christmas tree and putting them back in the big trunk they came out of. Managed to put most of the things back on the walls............seem to have mislaid a couple of items.............can't remember where I put them.........lol Oh well, they'll turn up one day. Everywhere looks a bit strange and bare with no greenery (albeit it plastic) and not christmas tree.......now I''ve got some hyacinth bulbs to sort out..............belated christmas present from one of the boys we used to foster. He's been to woolworths sale and got them, plus box of herbs in container for the window sill and a wooden vase.
The hyacinths are in those glass pots.............know the sort ....where you can see the roots and the bulb comes out of the top., Never had them before. According to instructions it'll be quite a while before they flower and I don't know if there's a way of speeding them up.
Then it'll be the herb trough............easy that one......I think.......empty compost into trough...........pop in seeds, water and wait.............I hope !
Was going to de-clutter paperwork but had major panic about npower prices going up so got all my old bills out for last two years..............OH been switching off lights everywhere............lol
Still not sure if I really need to panic...........according to Martin on the radio yesterday he says not to do anything as yet so we'll see.
Oh well, best put these old elec. and gas bills away before I get totally depressed and do something more positive with the day........got some birthday cards to make:j
Have a great day..........hugs for those who are poorly:grouphug:Mary
I'm creative -you can't expect me to be neat too !

Hi all, I'm a bit late this [STRIKE]morning[/STRIKE] afternoon as OH has been playing on the computer. Many <hugs> to all those feeling ill, I've just had a text from DSis who was poorly at Christmas to say she's STILL in bed coughing and feeling terrible
poor her, I've told her to get to the doc pronto since I think she has a chest infection.
Got most of the decs down today finally but am waiting for He-Man to heave himself up into the loft and bring down all the dec boxes (I'm too old and creaky to get my poor old bod up there) and then he has to dispose of the tree - my, he HAS been looking forward to doing that, not :rotfl: .
Have been clearing round generally, going to clean and polish my precious sewing machine up in a mo and then get going on my next project - a skirt for work.
Hugs to everyone!

Afternoon all!
My day started very similar to Penny Penguin's, but I haven't progressed it like her. I spotted my wall-hanging in progress and did some more of that.:o Well it is urgent, I didn't get it made for this Christmas so it must be done for the next one:rotfl: :rotfl:
Ooh I forgot, I have worked. I loaded the breadmaker! I can hear it kneading as I type:D I'm trying out a 50/50 white/ wholemeal loaf. Daring aren't I?
There seems to be a lot of illness on the board atm. Now please don't feel you have to share people:p Seriously, ((((hugs))))) (from a distance:rotfl: ) to you all. And Haribo, you are most definitely not a pain in the neck:D (No the pain's a lot lower situated than that:p)
Hilstep, congrats to DD on her engagement. Romance really is in the air round your way;) :smileyhea
Nelski, another one who never tires of a traditional Christmas dinner eh? I loooooove them too, but you must have Brussels sprouts, (my fave) just doesn't work the same without them.:D
Well, after that, I must go and get some more veggies. I seem to be using them at an amazing rate just now. Will see if I can buy some more Brussels trees, they lasted so well.
Enough drivel from me, bye bye
CM x
Sorry, forgot to say, a very big welcome to all the new posters:D Look forward to getting to know you all.You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0
