    Hiya!

Oh no, so many poorly sick people! DD2 was at a party today at church and they usually have around 25 kids at this annual party but only 11 kids were healthy enough to make it!

Big hugs to hipstep20000 What a time you've had over the holiday. Great news about the engagement. My DH proposed to me on Xmas Eve too, although we were driving through the Mersey tunnel at the time! :rotfl:
It was lovely being able to tell my parents on xmas day though.

dlb I know what you mean about shoe shopping and I've only got 2 kids to take! Hope you picked up some bargains and didn't get too stressed.

Well DH has 'gone down south' to meet up with some old friends he hasn't seen for about 32 years. He's staying in a pub/hotel and then driving home tomorrow. So it's just me and the girl's tonight and their choice for tea is...FISHFINGERS! We hardly ever eat them but the girls consider them to be a treat. Must be sick of all that healthy hm food! I'm having Aldi's tortelloni and then I reckon it will be sweets for a treat.

I took the xmas tree down this morning as I'd already removed the cards, extra lights etc over the past few days and then hoovered and dusted the front room. Even though it does look bare I quite enjoy having everything back to normal for another 11 months. The kid's beds have been stripped, washed, dried etc and I've got some ironing to do later. I might watch that spooky film 'The Village' later but I might chicken out as DH is away and I'm a big wuss!
    Have a good evening.

    Hi again,
we are now back from the shops and have picked up the watches, i returned the jeans that didn`t fit and chucked a couple of other reduced things in which i really should have bought ages ago and guess what?
    I was indercharged by £4 :D

I spent the money that i got for Christmas today too, i didn`t intend to but there were some really good offers on books and i haven`t sat down to a good read for ages so i thought i`d grab myself a bargain.
We have hundreds of books which are mostly packed away in boxes from when we moved house but we`ve nowhere to put them at the moment so they`ll have to stay packed away.
I`ve just had a lovely roast chicken dinner and DH has had a big bowl of stew and half a loaf for tea, with being out for most of the day we didn`t get chance for anything so we were both starving when we got home.
DH wants to visit the local tonight as it`s his last night of freedom before the early starts for the rest of the week so although i would prefer to curl up on the sofa i think the pub will be where we end up.
I promise i WILL update my sig when i`ve worked out the spends !
    Hugs to all

  • I'm back at home now - less 2/3 of a toe.

Not a great day Fri., got to the hotel OK thurs., had a very nice meal. Up at 6AM to get to hossie by 7. OH ate a continental brekkie in front of me. (Mean OH!)

Booked in, was asked 20 questions, temp. blood pressure, etc by 7:30, changed etc. Saw doc, 3 nurses, physio, Anaesthetist by 8:15. Then sat and sat and sat and sat. OH went to see how long, was told Noon as doc had switched patients (i was supposed to be 1st)Then OH saw a sign that said 12:45, ARRRRGHHHH!

So I didn't get into OR until 12:45, woke up at 2:15, 15 minute OP. Had the needle in my inner arm as they couldn't get a vein in my hand. That HURT! Woke up nauseous, did throw up several times (hard to do when stomach was empty). All in all I didn't eat or drink until 5:30 - 21.5 hours without food and 19 hours without drink.

Got a bowl of soup a sandwich, tea, juice and fruit salad at 5:30, it was decent hospital food.

Went back to the hotel last night, then home today.

I would go back this hossie again if I had to. Clean, very good staff.

My whole foot is bandaged, go back in 12 days to have stitches out. Have exercises to do as well.

Got Tramadol to take for 4 days, then paracetemol after that. No codeine as it makes me throw up. Lasted 12 hours on the tramadol; it made me nauseous and high as a kite. Taking paracetamol and an anti-inflammatory.

Trip back home wasn't enjoyable, I was throwing up every time the taxi from the hotel to Nuneation slowed down, but the taxi driver understood. We had plastic bags and my OH went into Sainsburys to buy rubbish bags as well. I needed them.

Thanks for all your best wishes!

Well a busy day today. DH's aunt was buried (unusual on a Saturday I believe but down to the festive mortality rate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!). Things went OK as far as these things go. She was in her 90s and had had no quality of life over last 10 years or so following amputation of lower legs and loss of sight and hearing! Her sons faithfully visited her every other day but I do think they feel a sense of relief.

Not had a chance to catch up with anything. We did pop into M&S however on way home for a quick easy meal as we didn't need much to eat. Some nice lady was reducing the most fantastic Xmas cards to 25p (the Manager's Special) so I now think that is me sorted for 2 years - I just couldn't resist! That is me back up to the loft tomorrow!!!!!!!

Will catch up, love and hugs to all.

    Hugs to Odds.
I've just spent an hour on the phone to a friend, I'm glad I wasn't paying. She was at work til midnight on Christmas eve & New years eve, she is supposed to work 9 til 5!!! She has decided to give up work in November & her income will drop from £2500 a month to £400 a month. I did suggest she looks for a part time job as I think she'll find it impossible to manage but she's adamant she'll be ok. She was asking me how much my bills were I told her, then she remembered that her house insurance is £78 a month, her utilities are £200 a month, I can see a lot of phonecalls will be coming my way, still it should be fun!
Then she said once she gives up work, we'll be able to meet in town some Saturdays, not to buy anything, we'll just meet for lunch & have a wander round the shops, So £8 to park & £10 for lunch, not my idea of a free day out!

Never let success go to your head, never let failure go to your heart.

Well it's just gone 7am here and it's already nudging 30 degrees with 80% humidity. I'll try and wish some heat over for you. :D You're very welcome to it all. I'm upstairs again making the bed. The computer called. ;)

Haribo The rellies will be grovelling with gratitude once they see my home cooked fare. :D I"m even throwing in some lettuce & avocado's. :p

odds Did you end up keeping your toe? :D When I was a kid we went on an excursion for school at some old house. There was a toe in a bottle. Yuk. A convict had cut it off himself to get to the hospital so he could then escape. Probably one of you lot distant relatives :D I would guess.

Well after that little bit of history lesson I better get ready. Welcome to all the newbies. More men on the thread. :D I won't mention them, but there are a few hussies on here you know. ;)

    Byeeeeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

    Good evening everyone,

odds-n-sods - sorry you had such a rough few days, hope you will soon be feeling better, and that it will be worth the pain and sickness xxx

Shez - glad to see you posted, had been wondering where you were - and i love your new Colin. Thought of you a few days back when i ordered the BBCs version of Pride and Prejudice for £7.99 on play.com - its out of stock at the mo, but will be sent when its in and then i will be able to see what all the fuss is about!!!

Had a horrible morning, well, weather wise anyway. Had to stand in a really muddy field in the rain and watch our sons get dirtier and dirtier. The good thing was the fact they won 8 - 2, DS didnt score but still played well!!

Popped into Tesco quickly afterwards to get milk and apples, then back home where DS had to put all his clothes into the WM, and DD and i had to put our trousers in - and then DD and i watched Forrest Gump - we both really enjoyed it.

Thats about it, hope everyone has a good evening,
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
