    Good morning everyone,

Just a quicky from me - DS has football this morning so i really need to get a wiggle on and get dressed!!!

Other than the football, and popping into Tesco for milk and a bit of fruit (Morrisons for DDs apples tho, such a fuss, but means she will eat apples) we have no plans. I ordered a copy of Forrest Gump from Play.com last week and it arrived today, so might watch that this afternoon!

OK, must go, ((HUGS)) to anyone feeling poorly/have poorly people around them.
Have a lovely day, might pop back later!!!!
    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Good morning all! A newbie to the daily thread now but feeling brave after a fairly successful first week on the GC and handing various things over at my previous job yesterday. (I resigned from teaching at Christmas ... not sure what I'm going to do job-wise now but will have a very good think about it when my sons go back to school on Monday!)

So it's my first weekend since I can remember without holing myself up in my 'office' and planning for work. DH and sons are looking forward to the new me, encouraged by the home baking that's been going on this past week.

My mission for today - tidying up (one day I'll read this Flylady thing and try to get as focused on that as I am on the GC); sorting through teaching resources and household stuff to see what I could sell; getting up the loft (DH doesn't go up there for fear of spiders, so it's my secret domain!); picking up a Freecycled wine cooler; dropping off a Freecycled Chinese plate set; and generally aiming for a more clutter free home. I need to get a few groceries too and have promised DH/DS their favourite farm shop sausages for breakfast tomorrow, as we've done really well with this week's spending, thanks to a well-stocked freezer and cupboard.

I guess the real test will be when my boys go back to school next week as they'll be looking in empty cupboards when they get home. they have each chosen two bags of crisps which I've put by for their packed lunch days, warning them that when the others have gone there will be no more for another week. I'm going to need to get some interesting baking done to keep them quiet but they'll hopefully appreciate having a stress-free mum back!

Have a lovely weekend, one and all!

    Morning all!
didn't get chance to read yesterdays thread so hope you are all ok! x

Hilstep - hope your mum's care package works well for them both x

    Ellie and chalky:hello:

Get well soon to Tru and everyone else and their little ones who are feeling poorly.

OS plans today are to go shopping - menu planned for the next week last night and need to keep to list as we need to tighten belts considerably this year. Later am picking up DS1 from his lodgings so he can come home for the weekend(big bag of dirty laundry awaiting me I expect!)
This afternoon we need to take his first car to the scrapyard.
Mum is on her way back from Cornwall today on the bus so may pop up to see her later.
Still no hospital appointment and now our local hospital is cancelling non-urgent ops due to the Norovirus - Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

    Have a great weekend all

    Take care xxxx

  • Morning everyone, lovely dry breezy day here today (was supposed to be raining but I think the wind and rain blew over last night instead) so wm went on first thing.
Went out with the kids to the woods/park/animal sanctuary yesterday and we all came back very muddy but we had great fun. We were there for four hours so by the time we got back we were very cold. Unfortunately, I have now joined the cold and flu brigade and woke up this morning feeling like c**p.
Trying to soothe my sore throat with a very hot cuppa. Have got to pop out later to do some shopping - will leave both boys at home with daddy having a pj day in front of the xbox/tv.
Hm chick & ham pie with lots of veg for tea tonight, got it out of the freezer yesterday looking forward to that.
Hugs to all who need them and have a good day all.

:hello: Hi to all new posters. I've not been doing this thread long myself, beware it's very addictive.

Hugs to all the poorly people out especially the LO's.

    DLB shoe shopping with 4:eek:

HILLSTEP glad to hear your Mum is getting the care she needs at last.

Talking of washing, I can remember when my Mum used to wash for 6 of us with a single tub and a mangle! I can remember changing out of my school uniform when I got home and wearing scruffy clothes around the house and when I went out playing.

Meant to get back on here yesterday but ran out of time. Have more or less mucked out DS room, will carry on on Monday. Have found some stuff to go in loft for when we eventually have a boot fair when I have time Ha! Ha!

Am doing well using up leftovers. Had cauliflower and leek cheese, with carrot and turnip mash before I went to work. Then had the shift from hell, leaving an hour late, only to get home to find kitchen was a tip, dishwasher not on and OH had finished my bottle of wine I was so looking forward to that was a Xmas present:mad: .

Sorry for rant. Am taking DS swimming later. Might try and get some filing done and clean out fridge to check nothing is lurking;) .

Have a good day all :A xxxxx

Morning all - the kitchen blitz yesterday was so successful, DH said it's never looked that good in the 7 years we've lived here. He's committed to us washing-up and wiping surfaces every day, and wants me to pin a daily/weekly chores rota to the fridge. We're sorting out room by room; I think he's finally realised how the place could be transformed after a serious declutter.

We're off out at 10am to measure/cost floor-to-ceiling bookshelves for the alcoves each side of the bed to try and help the book crisis. I'm then meeting an old work colleague to go ice-skating this afternoon.

Tonight I'm going to blitz the bathroom. I'm trying to get as much done as possible before I return to work on Monday.

    Morning everyone,
My there are a lot of poorlies around today!
Hope everyone starts to feel better soon, the weather here seems a bit brighter at the moment after a long night of heavy rain.

We went late night shopping at Asda so later on i`ll add it all up and add to my sig - i just know i`ve overspent :o

Today means going back to the shops to pick up our watches which we
left to have new batteries fitted, DH has one thats needs pressure sealing and there was a backlog so we didn`t fancy waiting 3 hours for them lol.
Still have to take the jeans back that we were going to do yesterday but when we saw the queue in the shop we thought we`d try today as we have to go back anyhow.
This afternoon we should get some more decs taken down and put away and then the new vacuum cleaner can finally come out of the box and be tried, hope this one`s ok as i don`t fancy taking another one back lol.
i`ll catch up with you all later.
    ((((hugs))))) to all
    SD
Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

    Morning!

I spend so long being nosey reading what other people are up to

Anyway .... (((HUGS))) to the poorlies among us and the poorly lo's (mine included) We are still a bit under the weather but much better than the last couple of days ... and hearing how other people are suffering makes me feel much less sorry for myself!!

Another day, another to-do list lol have managed to keep on top of them the last couple of days so will try again today. Lunch today will be something with salmon, pasta, sweet potato, cabbage and sprouts ... is it poss to make something okish out of that lot? think might just chop it all up n serve as a pasta bake with cheese sauce and cheese on top. Pudding is icecream. And then egg n beans on toast for tea with last of last nights banana/choc crunch for pud :D

Right off to sort washing out ......... actually maybe another honey n lemons called for first... obviously for medicinal purposes not just coz I want to sit back down on the settee :p

Hope everyone has a great day xx
