    Cushion finished. All sewn up.

I decided to make the back in granny square, as it's quicker 😁.

Amazing how the 3 colours look so different between two patterns.

In hindsight, the yellow should have been paler...it dominates a bit!

    Hi all,

The cardigan is lovely @Sea_Shell and the colours for the cushion cover are fab. Interesting how the same colours look so different in the different patterns.

I visited The Stitching Festival at the Business Design Centre, Islington yesterday. I hadn't been before and this is my Q1 event on my list of things for 2026. I left home at 10am and arrived just before 12noon. It was the first day and lots of people there. There were 3 floors in total and roughly half the number of exhibitors than Alexandra Palace for anyone who has been to that one.

I bought 2 x fat quarters in Liberty fabric (thinking of making a project bag), a needle threader, a cross stitch pattern and a storage box for my thread spools as my current one doesn't take bigger spools. Total spent £27.75. I took a sandwich with me so only bought a coffee as extra. Most annoying was I'd bought my train tickets in the SE Trains sale so got a return for £9.90 as opposed to £25.10. I lost my return ticket somehow during the day! Don't know how/where but had to buy another single…..for £25.10! Gutted. At least the original was very much reduced but really annoying. I blame meno brain fog!

Well done @Sea_Shell incredible work. You must be a really quick learner; I love the colours on the cushion cover. @Auti beautiful work. Very impressive. @Coxy11 you must have been gutted to lose your ticket after working so hard to keep your costs down. Just this little corner to stitch now 🤞🏼

Wow @Auti that looks amazing, well done xx

Lovely cross stitching @Charly27 - nearly there! And yes I was pretty fed up about the train ticket! I’m off to Margate on the train tomorrow and have an e-ticket - it’s the future!!

My postbox topper managed to survive the gales and hail we had here yesterday. I drove past it tonight en route to yoga and someone had repositioned it. Will finish the bunny this weekend - couldn’t find any safety eyes at the stitching show and they come in such large quantities online (plus postage!) so will stitch them instead. I also need to figure out how to position/attach the eggs I’ve made. I’m thinking of a stack of eggs for height with Mr Bunny in front, but will need to weight them down somehow. It’s quite involved this topper lark!

    Help.

I've seen pictures of crochet cardigans made from 2 giant granny squares, folded into an L-shape (to make body and sleeves).

But I can't work out how you fold a square into this shape?

Corner to corner you get a triangle…in half, you get a rectangle.

    What am I missing?

Thanks, but that's not the shape I meant.

Imagine that each side, with arms outstretched , looks like it's made from one large square, with a quarter missing under the arm.

I would post a picture, but don't want to tread on anyone's Etsy toes 😉

Ah, I think you start with a hexagon, not a square...off to YouTube to see if I can find a tutorial.
