its that's what the blue bit is in the photos I posted today angle beads?

Do I use the toupret that came in a tub or should I use the one that you apply directly frome the tube?

It's one of these, to form the corner. You just go over with the plaster or filler.

  • Thank you , I've appreciated everyone's help on here it's given me so much more confidence doing the house knowing what I'm doing. I'll fill over and sand it once dried and then mist coat then paint over.

Does it matter which filler I use?

Most tradesmen have their own favourites, so you will always get different recommendations. I prefer Knauf fill and finish. Easy to use, and sands to a good finish. The downside is that it takes 24 hours between coats, so it's not suitable for every job.

Use the one in the tub. The other one is better for filling in cracks.

Put in on with a filling knife.

  • Hi

I'm on a lunch break now been working in the hallway since 8am this morning and done a lot of the prep ready for painting tomorrow just got a few more bits of filler to put on a few more pin holes and a lot of sanding to do but I used the toupret fill-flex and I don't know why but after I filled a crack in the skirting board it exploded everywhere all over me thankfully and I had a right laugh with my sister whose helping me however it means I can't use it now for the door crack around the back door which I'm doing this week around wednesday and won't be able to get anymore in time for when I do the kitchen could I use just the other filler ( the one in the tub) after I put the PVA glue around it can I then just apply that one instead of the fill-flex?

You can use the one in the tub for cracks as well.

    Hello

Had an awful weekend took all weekend to do just the prep as I was a lot slower than I thought even with my sister's help but there wasn't much she could do as she has spinal issues but bless her she tried.

Its been way more work than I thought so have decided to leave the other rooms until I have saved up for a painter decorator as I am clearly rubbish as I started painting the walls today and some areas the old paint started peeling off showing bare plaster underneath in areas where there was no peeling which I'm confused on as I did exactly as told scrapped all peeling paint sanded then put no peel on then when dry I put filler over and when dry sanded Smith then put mist coat over and then left that to dry over night then cleaned the walls with sugar soap and rinsed them left that to dry for 24hrs so not sure why when I'm rolling the paint on it peeling the old paint off.

This is a section I just went over with my roller and it peeled off while rolling and it's still wet here?

It can't be because it's unclean because I cleaned the walls and made sure they were 100% dry.

I can only assume it might be moisture as the house has a moisture issue can I have the heating on while painting so the house stays warm?

Ive stopped painting and will wait till it's dry then scrape loose paint off and put some no peel on then start again tomorrow.
