09Feb is almost as late as you want to leave it anyway. If I've done my maths right, that corresponds to a switch start date of 01Feb, and the offer wants you to start by 03Feb.

Still awaiting a switch reward from Santander that is due to be paid early Feb. Am i right in thinking that i can choose a switch date with lloyds and so long as i complete the switching application by 3rd Feb i would still be eligible for the £250?

You only need to start the switch by 03Feb, there's no requirement for it to finish before then. Just keep in mind that when selecting a switch date, the date you are selecting is the completion date, not the start date.
There is the caveat that Lloyds might cease the offer earlier than 3 Feb end date as per their terms. Can't remember a switch offer from any bank actually doing this but they often don't have end dates - just "until we say "enough"".

There’s no requirement for a switch completion date in the T&Cs, so I would still expect to see the option to choose a completion date beyond 09Feb, e.g. 24Feb or thereabouts if you request the switch at the last minute.

Worth keeping in mind that the payment of the bonus depends on the switch completion (will be paid directly into your account within forty working days of your switch completing), so you would probably want the switch to complete asap, anyway

Ah perfect thank you for that. Really helpful. Just wanted to set a date on or after Feb 16th (when they pay me the £100 amazon reward for opening a Santander a/c) before doing another switch so will wait another week or so before applying :-)

You are switching a Santander account to Lloyds while waiting for the reward for switching to the Santander account?

For the Lloyds offer the switch has to start (not just be applied for) before the 3rd.

So a switch date of the 16th would not be eligible.

    • Open a qualifying account between the 06 January 2026 and the 03 February 2026. Start your switch from your old bank account using the ‘Current Account Switch Service’ to a Club Lloyds Account, Club Lloyds Platinum Account or a Club Lloyds Silver Account by the 03 February 2026

The terms state the switch must start by 3rd Feb. That means latest completion 7 working days from then. 24th Feb is well outside that.

That's not how I read the T&Cs. You cannot specify any start date for a switch, just a completion date. "Starting" the switch is applying for it. As long as you apply for the switch by the 3rd, you'll be fine. The latest I would apply is the 2nd, though.

I disagree!  Starting a switch is starting a switch. And it has to start by the 3rd. That seems unambiguous to me.

I disagree!  Starting a switch is starting a switch. And it has to start by the 3rd.
Doesn't really matter who disagrees with who, it's what Lloyds actually mean by "Start your switch.."  that's important.

    Someone should ask them.
