Welcome back @Suffolksue. I've just started going it alone myself, also because group times inconvenient. It's too early to say how I'll get on as I ate/drank whatever over Christmas but I'm giving it a try. I see that @bubbs has found you a membership voucher so reading the book might help a bit and you can sit in on the new member talk.🤞🏼

I hope those sausages are tasty @joedenise. I try to avoid taking DH shopping with me but he's good for sending on errands with a list.😁

I saw that advertised in Morrison's too @bubbs. Good for them reducing healthy food. I'm hoping to call in there on Saturday when I'm near for some of their fishcakes. I'm assuming the salmon and cheddar ones are still 2 swips?🤔Morrisons The Best Salmon,Smoked Cod & Haddock Fishcakes With Cheddar Sauce - Morrisons Online Groceries & Offers

Your menu looks good today @Coxy11, very much like when you were working in London and losing. You always get on well with the rice bowls.

We took most of our decorations down on Saturday but DH finished off today with the outside lights and the wreath on the door. We've had to let the light cables thaw out a bit before packing them away as they were  cold and stiff. It's 3 degrees at the moment but some rain due later. Hope your WM thaws out soon @bubbs. Scarecrow is not a good look, even if it's a skinny scarecrow.🤣 Hope the paths around your way thaw soon too @maddiemay and good luck with WI.🤞🏼

It's essential to look after your own health too @beanielou and @Jellybaby, hope the parents make a speedy recovery. I'd agree with using portions from a casserole or mince @beanielou especially if you have the freezer space for extra portions. Otherwise what about some soup and a sandwich or a nice cake and try to get some fruit into your mum too.

Good luck with seeing off the size 14s this year @Longwalker. I've got rid of all my fat clothes but I do have some smocky shaped dresses for the days when I want to hide my fat stomach. 😁

    Today's plan-
    B- Fry up (HEB,P,F,S), HEA1 for milk
L- LO veg and pickles (P,S,F)
D- Spaghetti with meatballs in tomato sauce (P,S,F), HEA2 Parmesan
    Swips-0

Sorry @Longwalker for not thanking you - thought it was @bubbs!

I'm hoping they're very tasty @maman for 3 Swips each when my butchers ones are only 1 Swip each!  Enjoy your meatballs tonight, hopefully plenty in the freezer too!

Now really fancy meatballs!! Have enjoyed my food today and have not needed to snack apart from a banana  o:) Thanks for the veg info @bubbs x

My DDad is 85 and eats like a sparrow @beanielou. He does enjoy scrambled eggs on toast for a light meal. Was also going to second making a batch of something like bolognaise to add to pasta or top with mash xx

DS2 - well I feel bad because the train broke down at Chatham which is FIVE stops away and there were no cabs and station staff just shrugging. Still should’ve called us though. Will definitely get him to sort a refund!

Am WFH tomorrow as new boss said not to travel. Fine by me! Means I will actually eat lunch as they don’t eat in the office so I usually graze on blueberries and an apple.

@beanielou , mum (87 ) eats sod all and picks around her plate. Whilst I attempt to make a balanced meal for all of us, she's a lot happier with scrambled egg, a two egg omelette ( won't eat it all ) or a small bit of frozen battered fish and a slice of bread and butter and a gherkin

    Still like her desserts though

TBH I wouldn't worry so much about content, just something you can manage and she will eat some off.  Mum is also happy with beans and cheese on a jacket potato or savoury mince/ or stew ( slow cooker and frozen veg/pre diced beef  are my best friends ) on a jacket spud

Luckily she will still have wheetabix for breakfast and a glass of orange juice, and a sandwich at lunch with a yoghurt and some fruit so Im not really concerned that she's not eating a "hearty meal "  I also buy in the pots of custard and  rice pudding for the days when she fancies nothing

I honestly think as long as they are getting most of the main food groups over a day - protein, fibre, fruit and veg, calcium - they are doing ok . Truth be told, the taste buds have gone and dry mouth is setting in so the sweeter the food , the more they are likely to eat . My step dad, my MIL both went the same way - only wanted small amounts of " proper food" but still got the sweet stuff down them not a bother
