That's a shame about hobbycraft, but best to be safe with the young un's. Hope you'll be able to find an equivalent gift for same money as you'll presumably be refunded.
Sounds like a good scrub down was had though.
Despite it involving hanging round, is it worth keeping the appt in case they can identify cause to stop it happening again?

They wouldn't let me cancel the appointment so they are here now!

I didn't sleep well last night so am just chilling today. Little miss was upset again this morning about school and her issues there. It's so hard, and I don't know what to do for the best. Looking at a few advice pages it seems I am doing all the right things. It's parents evening soon so I'll be able to speak to the teachers again then, and book another appointment if need be.
I couldn't cancel the internet appointment today and the engineer is here looking at it and finding nothing obvious. Good job they arrived at the early part of the appointment slot as I had informed them that I needed to go out to get little miss later and so wouldn't be in.
We won £10 on the lottery last night, so when that arrives will send it to the mortgage. That will have been a nice £40 overpayment this month!
A very lovely person has given me a bundle of tops in different sizes and brands to help me out as I progress down the sizes. That's so generous of them 😍 and it will be so useful for me to understand what size I might be in 'normal' shops."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Whilst the engineer was here, I was updating my spreadsheets for the end of the month. I'm very pleased with my spending one, groceries have been quite low, and frittering has been almost non existent! I don't think I'll manage to be so low in February as there's a lot going on, but I'll definitely try and keep the frittering and groceries down.
I can't believe my week off is nearly over, although I've booked half term too so not long til the next one 😂 I've definitely renewed my focus to get retiring early.
I've done a couple of surveys, and received a £5 amazon voucher for one I did last week.
I had a debate with my mortgage co as I wanted to use some of my overpayment balance to pay off some fees. They said they'd ask if it could be done as they don't normally do that, and I should get back in touch in 5 days to see if it had been done (!) I pointed out that I had a letter in my hand saying that I could do exactly that, and I wasn't going to get back in touch, and they could write to me to confirm it was done!

Congrats on the lottery win, and bravo that chapess for passing on the tops, what a nice thing 😊
I so wish I could say something helpful about poor little miss. Are there any weekend hobby or random afterschool groups she could join that don't involve the mean kids, that would give her other mates and/or renewed confidence?
Good for you being forthright with mortgage co, these people do know how to take the absolute mick (do secretly check if they've done it though, if not get yer compo face on, sod 'em!)

Thank you :) She went to Brownies to hopefully meet some other children who would also then likely go to the same secondary school. She wanted to give up in the summer. She really struggles socially with her peers, but she's confident and articulate around adults. Hopefully she'll find it easier as she gets older. I'll keep trying to find something.
Good point about getting my compo face on if the mortgage don't do it - I'd asked them before and they didn't respond, so I'll have double the complaint.Thank you 😁
