Ah that's brilliant @Baileys_Babe I wish we had one nearby! Although I should also really improve (start) my knowledge of how to do basic things.
Though tbf I was doing a survey about how incompetent people are with necessary maintenance earlier and one of the options of things people commonly can't do was bleeding the radiators and that's one of my favourite jobs so at least I'm not as bad as some folk!

I was really disappointed that my radiators didn't need bleeding this year.
Venison picked up, but due to poor planning and being out most of the day I picked up a ready meal for tea 🤦🏻♀️
Pension chat happened, confirmed my plan for now but gave me some stuff to think about in a year or two or when I've cleared some debts and have more brain space.
I have lots to do tomorrow as I've done nothing in the house today.
Also I realised how many books I've started but not finished on audible. I want to make an effort to finish a few by the end of the month.
I've tried 3 times to light the log burner, it's not catching. This has been a weird little occasional problem for a year or so. I'm too tired and it's too late to keep trying so I'll just pretend I laid the fire to light tomorrow. I like to blame the logs I had delivered over a year ago. I can't think why else it would just light perfectly well for days and then say nope another day. This is one of the reasons I haven't used them up, but I really need to get them gone and choose my supplier more carefully this year.

Venison collected here too - but mine was a plastic bag containing a whole off-the-bone muntjac for the dog and cats. Needs cutting up and freezing (has to be frozen for 3 days if feeding raw to minimise parasites). So my evening will be spent chopping it into a. large lumps for not-Fatty, b. large chunks for inhales-his-food Stinky and c. 1cm cubes for 'you mean I have to chew it?' Stripey who has just started eating it and can't get used to not being able to lick her food into submission.
People venison is due to arrive next week, and there will be a lot more from now as the pheasant/partridge shooting season is over so deer culling is back on. Any visitors will be fed venison…

You're all doing so well with your OATs!
I confess I've been ignoring most of mine for a while, and there are getting to be quite a stack of new ones atop the old ones, in a pile that threatens to come tumbling down on my head at any minute.
So I am getting back into reading this thread, and can report I've done two things over the last couple of days:
(1) left a message for the solicitor who's dealing with a dispute between two neighbours (nothing to do with me, but we have given a witness statement for something specific and it needs to be logged with the land registry or something - why this has to be a telephone appointment with both of us at the same time is beyond me, although it would have been fine had the solicitor actually rang us at the allotted time before Christmas!
(2) Collected a blood test form from the doctors surgery. Why I have to physically go to the surgery to collect a paper form which I then personally transport to the hospital to have a blood test is also beyond me. Haven't even booked the darn blood test yet as I didn't have my diary with me when I was in town earlier, just happened to be driving past the surgery and figured I should at least get the letter. I'll go and book the appointment now, that's something else I can tick off!

@Cheery_Daff if it makes you feel any better I still have a living room full of boxes from the storage unit I emptied before Christmas and was meant to ship overseas before the end of January. We can't do it all!
One more OAT plan I forgot to mention - tomorrow I am going to go through my seed box and I am beyond excited!!

People venison 😬😂
Blood test booked (you have to select a health professional, and all the blood test ones are labelled Ms Blood Test, which amuses me every year 😂).
Tried to do some spreadsheet/banking but the online banking system is down for maintenance 🙄😂

I can see it might be concerning… the pet food stuff is old deer that would probably be a bit tough. The stuff for human consumption is younger - and comes in a couple of different cuts (and the legs still have bones in).
Miraculously I went to the petrol station for cucumber, apples, and bananas and managed to buy just what I went in for. No chocolate or snacks or extras.
Made a proper meal (curry from earlier in the week, yogurt flatbread, salad, fruit salad) and ate it. Then dealt with the venison (now frozen) and filled up some kongs with stuff I prepped yesterday and shoved them in the freezer.3 -
Does anyone know anything about permeable paving? We have to buy it for front and back and I hate all the designs and it's not practical to have gravel around nicer paving stones. Is there a magical hidden website that sells nice permeable paving?

I've only ever seen the pavers n gravel in gardens or the porous asphalt (is that what it's called? ) stuff in car parks. Sorry Pip, not aware of any wonderful websites.
I annoyingly forgot all about the vntd parcel so that really needs to be a priority tomorrow.
I did however (after a long lie in) clean coops, empty the second compost bin, put newer contents into the first bin, and started spreading the compost on the garden. I did a little bit of weeding but I can see that the nettles are going to cause havoc this year if I don't give them a decent knock back in the next couple of weeks. I did most of this while listening to one of the old audiobooks I need to get finished.
I've brought wood from the conservatory into the living room, cut a few long logs in half, and broke up some slats from the fallen apart wood store as kindling.
It was lovely to be in the garden with no rain coat on and the sun came out briefly.
The fire is lit and I've got belly pork from my favourite butchers in the oven on low. I've got my seed box in the living room ready to go through after tea with a glass of wine. A pretty good Sunday all round!
