There are approximately eleventy billion days till most people get paid, it is freezing and dark, and some peculiar people think this is an ideal time to be strict with or deprive themselves 😁
I think this is an ideal time to identify and make peaceful progress on OATs while we're hunkering down, and reward ourselves with the nice things, preferably using up and enjoying the things we have so things are tidier and fresher for spring 🥂
My aims are continuing eating down the cupboards, having little sort-outs so we know we're (as much as possible) only moving things to new house that we've actually looked at, and remembering to use up the bits and bobs of toiletries for both self-care and space-saving.
And as ever getting money into the build pot and all the other pots so life can be enjoyed amongst all the hard work.
I hope you'll join me in endeavouring to have a wonderful cosy and gently productive January and February 😊

…. “only moving things to new house” …. Are you getting close to having a moving date then, @PennysIntoPounds? 😊🤩
I’m afraid I’m one of the peculiar people who like to use the Christmas break as an opportunity for a health reset. Let’s see how long it lasts though, eh …? 😉

The end of the year always seems to me a bit like the beginning of lent. Eating all sorts of random stuff before it goes off. And Oh shock & surprise it is turkey for tea. How much depends on what DS has not nibbled since I put the rest in the freezer.Let's hope we all start the New Year by Ernie being kind to us.7

I’m in. I want to do a big declutter tomorrow as I want to pay people to deep clean my house next year and want it as tidy as possible.
I want to join a gym in January and get myself stronger and healthier. I don’t care about my weight, to be fair.🙂 I’m going to be 50 next year and I want to concentrate on health and mobility.
I’m about to go and get snuggled under my heated blanket and watch a film in our projector room. My husband just got the popcorn and the wine and we will take our little dog upstairs to get cosy too.😍6 -
You were definitely included in my thoughts as one of the peculiar people @KajiKita 😂😘
Nah, good on everyone who's having a go at health pushes for the new year, even if it doesn't last longer than a week then you'll still have built up some extra health sufficiency at the most difficult time of the year.
For me personally, I feel like animals are hibernating, trees are hibernating, it's only us humans who are mad enough to think midwinter is the time to lose weight, enjoy less, and do more.
But I look forward to hearing about everyone's achievements (while I enjoy my wine and cheese and chocolate) so I can be inspired for spring6 -
No moving in date or even month @KajiKita, but it should be the first half of the year, unless things go very awry. We will not be in the slightest bit surprised if they do!
Ooh, yes, fingers crossed for Ernie beneficence for us @badmemory 🤞
Hope there's some grub left for you, happy new year to your DS. Hope he knows what a clever and generous mum he has
Cor @Wednesday2000, much as I am sounding like a sloth (my spirit animal 😁) on here so far, I do blimmin love a big declutter. Do make sure to put owt sellable on vinted etc, who knows how many pounds you could make to put towards the cost of the deep clean 😍
Stronger with improved mobility sounds like a brilliant aim.
I feel fancy knowing someone with a projector room 😂 Good for you, enjoy your popcorn and wine with husband and little dog 😊

I’m officially Peculiar!!! 🤩❤️🎊🎉🥰

Part of why I’m doing what I’m doing is to improve my quality of life - fewer sugar / carb crashes, less inflammation, better sleep and more energy. I’m actually aiming to enjoy life more, honest! 😉😊

My biggest OAT is to try AGAIN to get on the NHS app. No more, there are more than 30 in the queue or we only deal with that between 10 & 4 or even 2 & 4. They actually did something at the local library a couple of years ago but I didn't see it until too late. They don't even tell you why you have been rejected. Then I will have a similar problem with my postal vote which has to be done by 31st Jan.4

Beautiful swirl, very elegant @KajiKita
No-one needs to justify themselves to this big ol' new year hype grump, I'm cheering you all on and hoping for only the good things for us all 😊
Those sound like two extremely frustrating and annoying but very achievable OATs @badmemory.
I didn't even know there was an issue with being rejected to get on the NHS app (or postal vote)!
You will absolutely do this 💪4 -

I had such a bad sleep and have woken up feeling rubbish.

Okay, so I am going to go through one wardrobe to declutter, then put on a face pack while I walk on the treadmill and then have a shower and get dressed and then do the other wardrobe. My husband can do his wardrobe when he gets up!
I'm going to wear my red dress, red jumper and red earrings today.
