I did similar years back when we had the twins. Cat flap was always unlocked (which is how Mr Stinky kept getting in). For some reason before going to work one day I closed the kitchen door and they were both snoozing upstairs. After a full day at work we came home to a smelly lounge as there was 2 small disposal spots in opposite corners. The plus side was they hadn't done anything on the rug, just the bare floor so fairly easy to clean up.

Seriously wondering if I need to start a pot for ‘me maintenance’ for things like physio etc …

A me maintenance pot sounds like a great idea then the money is there when you need it and it would prevent any delays while you worry/reorganise your budget to find the funds. Early intervention would probably result in a shorter treatment time as the issue has been around for a time while you decide if you really can justify the maintenance.

Physio was suggesting I start seeing him twice per week - that would be £400 pcm!! 😳 I think not …!

Physio twice a week seems a bit steep especially at those prices

In future at the end of the session ask him to email you a description of each exercise, how many repeats ect and if possible a video of each exercise or a link to a suitable videos so you can get the most out of the physio (and have resources if you have a future flare). That way you can study them when you are not exhausted at the end of the session.

Whilst the twice a week sounds a lot (and yes it is!) my experience is that quite quickly the visits can drop to once a week, once a fortnight and then once every couple of months and finding some one for maintenance thereafter can be cheaper "in the long run"

just a thought - can he email you instructions for exercises (mine sends them to me with little videos too!)

Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

I spent a small fortune at the chiropractor years ago in a very short amount of time because I was unable to actually walk with a straight back by the time I caved to go....in a month though, I had full mobility and felt better than I had in years and by month three or four I felt amazing..my poor cc took a battering though, I think I spent over two grand in that short time, three times a week, then two times, then down to once a week and bimonthly and so on and so forth before I thought I was going to need a mortgage to pay any more 🤣🙈

Every time I budget I say I will start a 'health' pot for supplements, massage or chiro or whatever and then I find the house somehow goes to the top of the list with it's long list of maintenance and DIY 🙃🙂🫠.

Invest in yourself and I had the same experience with chiro as DFW, I had to go twice a week for a month then tapered down to once a month although I haven’t been for years now, no recurrence but never again to an office job that discouraged movement!
