My cats have learned that if they trigger the light on the porch I open the door (because I get a message from the security camera that someone is at the door and don't bother to check the video). They also join the dog with the whole 'sitting outside the back door staring until you open it' thing. So I'm basically just a butler…

One of my cats sometimes wants out the front door & then sits on the window still looking pathetic until l let him in. Use the cat flap boy!

Been a strange kind of day ….
Slept incredibly badly - awake from 2am to 4am for no obvious reason, and when the alarm went off at 6.15am I didn’t feel able to carry on sleeping, so got up. Feeling it now though … I would really, really appreciate a good night’s sleep tonight, as I have an all day H&S assessment tomorrow in which we are going to be eviscerated … (when I arrived, H&S was the equivalent of a horse and cart, after 10 months we are now at slightly battered but reliable Austin metro, but the people coming in to do the assessment will expect ‘Ferrari’ … 😳🙄🤷♀️).
Did manage to get out in the garden for a short while - lifted some huge clumps of weedy grass in front of the DIY shed and put a little clump of the big aster that needs relocating from the sit spot border and some foxgloves and an aquilegia volunteers from the nearby veggie beds, in that area instead. Still tonnes of the aster to move / remove from the sit spot border … I had no idea it had spread so much! I have goodly patch of thyme at the front of one of the veg beds where it gets sun all day. The grass from the area around it was being a bit engulfing, so hand cut that back and then thickly mulched the thyme, getting right underneath it with bark to reduce soil splash. Also picked out all the oak leaves etc that were lodged in the thyme plants.
And then … The breeze we had had all morning suddenly became thick, swirling, drenching drizzle …the type that blows down your ear holes if you catch it at the wrong angle! 😂 I abandoned the garden, grabbed the washing (which had been almost dry 😢) and came in.
There were a further two loads of washing wrangled, some tapestry done and some reading of novel and I have started contacting friends to book them in to catch up with during my week off before Easter. 😊KK

We've had on and off awful weather here too. Blizzard like one moment then completely cleared the next! I almost put my washing out and thought I'd do a 360° whilst stood in the garden and spotted a grey cloud, used the TD instead and thank goodness I did as it hammered it down minutes later 😳🤣.
I hope you sleep well tonight zZzZz.

Could the upcoming H&S assessment be the culprit for your poor night's sleep even if you are not consciously thinking about it?

thank you 😊
I don’t think it was last night as I slept well on Friday night. Tbh, I think it was combination of too much refined carbs (I ate lunch out yesterday and there were no wholemeal options) and a very stressed friend …

Thanks Beanie x
At least I slept well, which will help my patience 😉 (I took the ‘nuclear’ option of valerian last night …)
