Quick catch up:
- £110 monthly mortgage OP left my account yesterday - I do like how this has just become a habit … 😊
- Dental appointment yesterday went well, no issues found, had a good laugh with the dentist who was being a grumpy old man but quite wittily. Left £82 lighter!
- Journey home was horrendous - closed roads all over, wet, potholes everywhere, dark etc. Didn't get in until 18.10 (usually get home at 16.45 these days 😊) and Mr KK had done all his chores but hadn't thought to making a single step towards dinner 🙄 so I had to jump straight into that …
- Missed the workout I had promised to do for my coach …. sigh. But did video myself doing squats, goblet squats and lunges and sent them off to him. Even looking at it myself, I can see all kinds of issues with posture, wobbling etc etc. It will be interesting to see what feedback he comes back with.
- Also, took some of his suggestions for improving sleep and did sleep a bit better last night, but I suspect that was partly just utter exhaustion after 3 broken nights! 😉
- Very much enjoying my latest book (Wren in the Holly Library) I can see myself finishing that before the end of the week and I can go into town after work on Friday and get another batch 😊
- Fuel was getting low in the car so I came into work early and stopped off for a few bits in Moreesons and to fill up. £1.32 a litre - I thought it was £1.22 a week ago?? But I fill up so infrequently now I'm probably not keeping a remotely accurate track of it.
Workout must happen this evening and I will try MFP for food tracking tonight. I did try crono-whatsit as per coach's suggestion, but it looks very odd and squashed on my i-pad so that's not a goer for me.

I tried to find the link to the guy I keep seeing on facebook who explains why calories don't matter. All down to the fact that some healthy food like fruit has more calories than donuts etc. He's quite droll about it all and normally pops up regularly on my FB feed but no sign of him currently - if I find him I'll pop something on here. It's all very reassuring about making good choices and not beating yourself up if you really feel the need to a snickers or similar.
found him….the fitness chef - search results | Facebook

Thanks all for the input about calorie counting and perceptions.
I am going to continue to track my food consumption with the aim of losing weight. I have at least two stone to lose. This last week has shown me that I am consuming too much fat in my efforts to get enough protein - to that end I am going to switch from mozzarella to cottage cheese for my lunch and start eating smoked tofu again. I wouldn’t have made either of those decisions or different food choices without understanding the fat content of my current diet.
At some point I will get to maintenance - that might be the time to explore other approaches.Did my first proper training session, videoed it all and sent it to my coach. There were some bits that were easy (wall press-ups) and other things that were beyond me (alternating leg, forward lunges). I can see my core is weak and my balance is poor.
In MSE news, a little trickle of TCB arrived (£2-something) which I have sent to PP and I was able to cash out another small trickle (£4.02) of surveys and sent that PPwards as well.
Sent a complaint off to a big river seller as the tahini I ordered off them arrived with the jar broken.

Quick Tahini question …
I ordered a jar online and it arrived broken (the base was smashed). I have told the seller, sent them a picture and they have agreed a refund.
Do I bin the whole thing or try to recover some of the top of the jar (before I get down to any broken glass) into a clean receptacle (I have spare small jam jars)?

Oh and as an aside, I am deliberately being a bit more conscious with my spending this month, so having most definitely indulged myself with 2 beautiful, brand new books (one on gardening, one on cooking / seasonal eating - utterly irresistible and I am really enjoying them) at £50, I have pulled the cash out of my 'Pocket money' purse, stashed it safely elsewhere and only left myself £35 cash to the end of the month. That £50 will then be the beginnings of next month's 'pocket money', iyswim.
It certainly does sharpen the awareness of cash flying out the door, the hand, etc. …

It's not worth risking the broken glass. You really don't want to be eating it, and who knows whether a tiny fragment might have migrated further up the jar than you are aware of.

I understand the instinct not to waste it KK but I agree with greenbee it’s not worth the risk.

I agree with greenbee and wouldn't risk it. Glass seems to go everywhere when it splinters.
Also very aware of the cash flying out!
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
In addition to the risk of glass splinters, you don't know what nasties have contaminated the Tahini once the glass broke. Definitely bin it.
