I tend to mix those with a similar scent, or add a scented one to a bottle of Dove or similar 😉diminua said:... Florenceem, please don't think you need to remove everything of MrF's as soon as you can - I understand that you want to sort out his office, but everything else can wait a bit longer. You are getting so upset when you move his clothes etc out of your home, and his passing is still so very recent xxFlorenceem said:Brie - I am not a crier but this has changed me into one. Hello all,
Managed to declutter 4 books, a notebook and a rather large flamingo teddy to my pals today.
Books are The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings set - my sister got me limited edition ones for Christmas.
Notebook just because L liked it.
Flamingo is from one of the bags of toys I got for free, gave it to them for their dog.
Almost decluttered an iguana teddy, most of the stuffing is in the bin but there's still some life in it. Confiscated it for now but will let them tear the rest of it apart before I bin it on Wednesday.
Hugs to all who need them.Debt Free - 4th June 202519 -
Floss - there is lots of Mr F's stuff still here - I can't bear to move his hat from the shelf in the hall. His clothes are still in the chest of drawers - I only gave his coats and jumpers to the charity shop as people need warm clothes at the moment.
I gave some of his SA uniform to a SA friend today - someone who had known Mr F for many years.
My ex Dil sent me a lovely photo of the 2 of us at her wedding - in 2004 - Mr F was very large then and had bought his suit from The Big Man shop.
I had a visit from middle daughter and granddaughter with goodies to encourage me to eat.
My eldest daughter is flying off to Chile tomorrow and hadn't heard of the wildfires out there. She returns the day after the Celebration of Life but will be able to watch the streamed link.

Hi all, slow day today as my twingy back is playing up again but I emptied one of the freezers and managed to fit just about everything into the fridge freezer except a packet of crumpets which we can have tomorrow 😁. The freezer was left to defrost with a bowl and several towels etc to catch the drips. It was so bad I couldn't initially get the top draw out but managed it after a couple of hours with the door left open. 2 LDFPA and 2 non fitting sheets put in a bag for A for her church project. The towels were dumped in the sink as new ones were needed and when I had a good pile they were put in the machine for a rinse and spin before being washed, they are now on the maiden. 2 other loads were washed including another non fitting fitted sheet, one load on the maiden and the jeans on the radiators. A random gift bag put away where they live. Card for friend's 70th sorted and will be posted tomorrow 😁. The freezer hasn't been washed down yet cos my back couldn't take it so hopefully will be done tomorrow as well then I can start refilling with some batch cooking. Apart from that all I decluttered was some programmes from the planner 😁.
Falling asleep so will say well done to everybody who has managed to do anything and hugs to anybody who would like one
114 freezer defrosted
115 & 116 LDFPA
Take care everyone

Sunday continued: I have been a bit lax as rather than continue my catch up of cheerleading I watched a couple of episodes of Inspector Morse 😉 Although I did use the ad breaks to put the meat in & prep the vegetables for dinner. Time for some cheerleading starting with the first post dated the 17th - just one minute past midnight 😅
StickyTheStickInsect, hopefully the one bag per CS is just for the first couple of month of the year when everyone decides it is a good time to declutter 🤞 Excellent decluttering of both your ‘stuff’ & on behalf of your DF 👏 I am very impressed at how much work you have done at your DF’s house & 28.5 bags so far has earned you another Gold Star ⭐️ (I have made a note of the new target) which is on its way. Also because your cousin is being such a great help, I think it only fair that she also receives a Gold Star ⭐️ Sorry to hear that you have to empty the storage container in the next two weeks 😥 as if you didn’t have enough to do 😱 Good luck 🍀
Dizzycap, a lovely post 🥹 Cheerleading at its best, so please accept some 💐
Excellent decluttering greent 👏 Also well done on losing the Christmas 4lbs so quickly 👏

113 Kitchen detritus - binned
London_1, thank you for sharing tales of the doggies 👏 Ted & Stan sound like they both keep their human ‘pets’ completely in their thrall 😂 Good luck sorting the second wardrobe drawer 🍀 I also hope that, if you do go for a walk, you see red squirrels ☺️
Green_hopeful, fame at last ☺️
Lovely cheerleading vulpix ☺️ & well done MrV for completing “mission impossible” 👏 Excellent work getting everything from your very recent move unpacked 👏 You & MrV have worked like Trojans so I am awarding you each a medal 🏅🏅 This “Mr V is taking a jumper back to Sains. I don't know why he bought it. In the 20 years i have known him I have never seen him wear a jumper!” is so funny 🤣
Great work Yorkie1 👏 Every item out or used up is a win 😊

Florenceem, This “…..on the way called at my hairdresser - she had heard about Mr F. She always called him the Pay Fairy as he would go in and pay before my appointments.” is such a lovely memory to store away 🥹 Another busy day. Pleased to hear that you had a better sleep 😊
Willowtree222, pleased to hear that the dehumidifier is proving to be a good buy 😊
Great decluttering QueenJess 👏 Good luck using up all the packaging 🍀
Deb4, excellent progress on several fronts 👏 I am especially impressed with the number of NSDs - 14 days out of 17 🤩
florianatwobob, stunning photo 🤩 Well done to you, DSis & the others who went “bin diving” 👏You would think rather than binning the flowers they would either give them away or charge a nominal amount say 50p a bunch 🤨
Florenceem, gentle cwtches 🤗 28 years with such a wonderful man is too short a time 🥺
Beautiful sentiment daisy_1571 🥹
TC77, I do hope you managed some time with DD2 on Saturday night when she got back from the pub 🙏 Sorry to hear about the tax 😔 Lovely round decluttering number 😊 Very exciting planning a trip to see DD2 ☺️ & hopefully this will give you some impetus to declutter 🤞
Florenceem, excellent work sorting out files 👏 Reverting the office to a bedroom sounds like a good plan as it will mean you can have grandchildren to stay 🥹
StickyTheStickInsect, lovely cheerleading post ☺️ More excellent decluttering 👏 & I especially enjoyed This “….. so DH managed to drop 3.5 bags of my Mum’s stuff to the preferred hospice shop, he just told them he didn’t know he couldn’t take that many at once and they let him! This is perhaps a plan to be repeated!!” 🥳
ilovetea, of course you can count the chocolate biscuits 😉 after all they have been in the house longer than a week 😄
Lovely post Brie 😊
A perfect place to stop - the end of a page & the last of the posts dated the 17th 😊

Good morning chums, still dark outside but the evenings are slowly getting lighter 16.40pm before its dark now
in between showers yesterday had a quick mooch around the garden and boy are the bulbs shooting up. tidied up some of the windblown debris into the gardenwaste bin. Made a plan for where things will be planted and will email it to Ben my DDs eldest DGS as he and I plot out the garden.
He teaches in north London, and has no garden, but is a keen gardener and has got his year five children interested in growing things to eat ,in pots if they live in a high rise flat.
He even buys the pots and seeds and compost for them. The children learn that food is grown and not just appear in Tescos from the food fairy
He says catch their interest with something like gardening or just growing something and you have covered reading, writing, about how their stuff is developing, maths, as how much it costs to grow your own.
A bit of science as how plants develop and what encourages them to grow.
He is so keen on catching their interest to help them without just setting them a book, he likes to get them involved. His class has lots of plants and stuff growing on windowsills he says it more like a garden centre than a class room. The kids follow him around like he's the pied piper and his Head is very happy to have such a good teacher and goes out of his way to get him any help he can.
The school is in a bit of an inner city deprived area, but he says hes noticed how the boys like to compete with the girls to see whose stuff is growing the tallest .
Without a doubt the chap is a born teacher, and he loves his job. When I had a 'big' birthday last year because I send pictures of the stuff 'Sir' and his Granny grow far away on the IoW I had a brilliant home made card signed by all the kids in his class to 'Sirs' Granny whose garden Sir shows us in pictures.
Ben dug out a nice potato patch for me and planted the seed spuds and also some tomoatoes in a grow bag and as they grew I send photos every couple of weeks so the children could see it developing. Then pictures of the spuds being lifted for eating. The tomatoes did very well and sending the photos and pictures of the stuff I cooked with them got them all willing to grow stuff to eat. His children in class grew some tomatoes ,chillis, lettuce and a couple of them grew on their balcony of their flats a container with some spuds in. So roll on spring as I want to get the garden moving
if only for the 28 children in a north London school
Florenceem take it a day at a time ,it was 10 years before I managed to remove my late OH's slippers from by the fireplace My eldest DGS had bought them for 'the worlds best Granddad'
I still have a cardigan of his in the drawer that I put on if its very chilly sitting up in bed in the wintertime reading. and he passed in 2003.
So if it gives you some sort of comfort, leave his hat there until you are ready. There is no time limit on grief it will lessen over the years, but it still may creep up and give you a jolt at unexpected moments . You are in my thoughts as I know how hard it can be at times xxx
Well chums its Monday which means its U3A games afternoon in Newport so I am off toplay Cribbage with Richard, my card playing friend and anyone else who likes to join in
DD and I played Scrabble before dinner last night and I was soundly thrashed but I beat her at whist the following game . Son-in-law cooked us a delicious chicken, and afterwards I stripped the left over bits (curry on Tuesday perhaps ) and decluttered the carcass.Bin men come today so it was wrapped and deposited into the bin.
The dogs hung around hopefully for some scraps which I found a couple for them and they were decluttered extremely quickly
Killer jigsaw is still an ongoing project at the moment, watched a facinating thing on Iplayer about the sinking of the Titanic yesterday, class system was very prevelent in Edwardian days, and the highest number of deaths were from crew and third class passengers
One surviving stewardess returned during WW1 to sea, and was on another boat which sank at Gallipolli, but she survived that sinking as well. One of the officers who survived took a boat over the France during the Dunkirk evacuations of WW2 and save 127 solidiers. Well worth a watch if you have Iplayer
Right time for a cuppa I hope you all have a good day
Cheers chums
