Saturday continued: The vegetable only soup that DH made Thursday night is delicious 😋 I have completed the puzzles in a few newspapers & read various articles in the local one. DH has phoned his DSis & also paid the car tax. He has also unpacked the two new bird feeders (they are beautiful 🤩 see pic)

Apologies for the size of the picture - the recent upgrade appears to have removed the option to reduce the size 😖
All the packaging has left the house & is in the appropriate wheelie bins - counted 🙂 The bubble wrap has been added to the CS bag but not yet counted.
99 - 105 Office recycling, 3 newspapers, 3 cardboard boxes
106 Plastic Packaging - binned
Ms_Potato_Head, lovely friends 😊
Florenceem, I will keep my fingers crossed that Tuesday’s weather is fine so J can get the garden sorted 🤞Excellent decluttering 👏 Pleased to hear that you are starting to eat a bit more regularly 😊
Excellent decluttering Happy_Kitties, especially the neutral items 👏
I will take this opportunity to say a blanket thank you to any of our Declutterati Family who are posting information to assist Florenceem at such an overwhelming time 🥹 Also thank you for sharing your experiences 🥹
Congratulations FrugalFalafel 🥳 How exciting & you are doing such a great job of planning re moving in 👏 How annoying that the seller didn’t finish disposing of all their rubbish ☹️ Hope Saturday’s moving van day goes well 🤞
charlies_tribe, well done persevering with DD2’s passport photo ☺️ At least you have 10 years before you have to go through the whole process again 😉 Sorry to hear that your DH is so unwell 😞 Hopefully the antibiotics will sort out the chest infection🙏 Excellent decluttering 👏 I have made an educated guess that you are aiming for 2026 items out but if I am mistaken, please let me know 😊
dND, thank you for my Gold Star ⭐️ - I know I am not quite caught up but I am making great inroads & so am hoping that I will soon be starting my own Decluttering Campaign 🤞 Re This “… things are a bit up in the air at the moment for DS1”, I will keep everything crossed that the situation is resolved soon & satisfactorily 🤞 You are definitely decluttering especially as you are keeping up with & getting the day to day tasks done 👏 I think you are being way too hard on yourself 😢 After all last year was an exceedingly busy year getting all the renovation & building work done. Please give yourself a chance to get over the upheaval 👏 Also please don’t underestimate the success you have had in sorting out your eating patterns ☺️ Good luck 🍀
GrannyKate, hopefully the bedroom furniture arrived on time 🤞 & the unplanned 50 mile round trip went smoothly 🤞
Great decluttering TC77 👏 although I agree that 6 seems a small number for all the effort & work involved ☹️ Good luck with the listings & hopefully many sales 🍀
Another page finished 🙂 As it is time to start dinner I will post now & come back later 👋

Many thanks for the support on this thread.
I lost my Mum suddenly - she dropped dead in a shop on the way to visit Dad in hospital
Lost dad 16 years later - not unexpected as his health was deteriorating at 85..
This loss is overwhelming - I keep looking at where his chair was situated. I just burst into tears during the day.
It can happen when I am walking along the street. Mr F was only 73 years old.
I can at times give thanks for the wonderful 28 years of marriage to such a gentle and kind man.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

@Green_hopeful love the shed, amazing transformation and the ducks, great story on mse!
Meant to be having last evening with dd2 before she flies to oz tomorrow but she's been invited to the pub.
Taken up my work trousers for dd1 to use for interviews and will drop off on the way back from the airport - detour on the tube.
Had sat down to watch TV with dd2 and can't seem to get up.
I need to make phone call before I file tax but found i owe more than I thought:(
Cardigan, bath toy and book in cs bag.
Nice round 100.
Library books to plan trip to see dd2 in a couple of months and as have this trip and other things going on need to get ahead with the decluttering.24 -
I went upstairs to bring down more files to sort.
I have done half of the 33 that were there. My friend said what will I do with the room - make it into a sitting room? I don't think I could do that - wouldn't want to sit where Mr F had spent so much time. Mr F got very stressed towards the end of running his business so not happy memories in there for me. I will make it back into a bedroom.
Decluttered today - 8 files, paperwork and lots of tears.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Thank you @Dizzycap , I’m trying to pace myself, once we’ve cleared the container, and sorted the kitchen at my Dad’s, I can have a bit of a rest.
@Liverpool_Anne , I’m considering another storage unit but it would be helpful if we could avoid the additional cost, we went for the container in the first place because of how much cheaper it was than a unit. But if we have to, that’s what we’ll do.
Fabulous ducks and their accommodation @Green_hopeful
@purplevamp , that is an excellent idea! I also have 2 large boxes of my Mum’s things to sell on Vinted, so far this week, I’ve already sold three pairs of shoes! I’m trying to list a couple of things every time I go to my Dad’s. The money from Vinted will go to the hospice. In an ideal world, I’d sell more of it but I just don’t have the space to keep it, whilst it’s listing. My Dad really needs it not to be in the house anymore and we are having our own storage challenges at home.
Thinking of you @Florenceem
Fabulous bird feeders @Mrs_Salad_Dodger
I was at work this afternoon, so DH managed to drop 3.5 bags of my Mum’s stuff to the preferred hospice shop, he just told them he didn’t know he couldn’t take that many at once and they let him! This is perhaps a plan to be repeated!!
Once I’d finished I took 3.5 bags to the other hospice shop, who said they’d actually take up to 4 at a time, so that’s helpful for next time.
My total is 39.5/208
My Dad’s new total is 35.5/104

@Florenceem
Would the room do as a spare for grandkids staying? Or would you want to have a lodger? Or guests visiting your SA?
My mom said that she kept bursting into tears suddenly for a few months after my dad died. It's perfectly normal I think. And then after a while I guess that some can talk more easily about their love and the rest without the tears.
As for me - you could rent me out for sad occasions. I burst into tears at puppies in toilet paper ads. Some of us are more prone than others I guess.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
