The ROD is something that has grown over the years and at times I have been unable to close the door due to the volume of stuff in there. On many occasions I had opened the door and just felt so overwhelmed with the scale of the task that I closed it again, not able to make a decision on even one item. There was so much stuff I simply did not know where to start.
Something happened in April. I don't even know why or where it come from but I had found an enormous plastic bag, around 3 times the size of a bin liner, I couldn't even begin to think what I had had delivered in it.
I took it to the ROD and just started stuffing items into it. Clothes, packaging, stuff I had earmarked to sell, sentimental items, things that could be binned. Along the way I encountered many boxes. These were from my office days and would hold 5 reams of paper. I liked them because they had lids and fitted perfectly under the bed in the ROD.
Those that were ripped or squashed I threw out on to the landing as I filled the enormous bag. When it was full (half an hour as I was moving everything along as I made my way round the room) I dragged it to the doorway and then kicked all the boxes down the stairs before dragging the bag down and sorting through it.
I did a half hour session every day for 3 days. I sorted through an enormous amount of items. My initial aim had been to put my one remaining collection into the wardrobe so it was all together prior to selling on fleabay. There are about 5 items of clothing in the wardrobe but to my astonishment I still had 2 small boxes from the collection that wouldn't fit after I had put the rest of the collection in.
The Laura Ashley mattress on the ROD bed (purchased 10 years ago in a sale) was finally able to be dragged into my bedroom and the old mattress put out for collection along with the 2 piece corner sofa. The ROD looks better, bare bedstead with no boxes or anything else underneath it now but still a long way to go.
Frustratingly I managed to leave my phone charger plugged in on the train. This from the person who checks the doors are locked about 10 times before going to bed.🙄 On the upside I went through all the cables and gubbins at home and managed to cobble together a charger from two bits that actually work so v.pleased I didn't have to fork out for another new charger.
I will list numbers separately as it's a huge list.

regnbue - my large ROD was like that - I would open the door but couldn't start or didn't know where to. Now I want to decorate and make it my lounge - I can do it. It is taking a long time.
There are no ins since I started this declutter journey in 2026 - apart for paint to use on the decorating and food .I have finished another pair of gloves using a brushed yarn. They are a rich pink and size 8 - 12 years.
I have started a pair using a black brushed yarn in teen/adult size.
I have the job I am not keen on - setting a price for the gloves - all proceeds to SA.

Started on the garden today. Trimmed around the rose arch. A bit more than a trim actually! It is going to be very slow as I have to watch my shoulder. So little and often. Garden does look better for it. DH is joining me tomorrow so maybe we will get twice as much done?

Took a trolley full of donations to the charity shop. Then I went to Lid.
Hospital was next for a blood test.
I got some storage boxes out of the old office - I need to sort the contents and clean them.
Blinds man is coming tomorrow to measure up the window in the new lounge. They had a cancellation so offered the spot to me. Now I need to make a decision on the feature wall colour so I can get the blind ordered.
Decluttered - 2 skeins of tapestry wool, bag of trims, 2 bits of wire, edging, roll of duck tape, sequin belt, buckle, wooden ring, belt and 4 reels of leather trim.
