How lovely of your DF @Florenceem the new canvas will, I’m sure, bring you joy. And well done on the weight gain, that’s brilliant.
Thank you @Mrs_Salad_Dodger for DF daughters flowers, she will be so pleased.
We only have reds on the island @oceanspirit, it’s actually a criminal offence punishable by 5 years in prison to bring greys here. I adore their little hands, we don’t get a lot over this side but there are many over Quarr Abbey way and the east of the island. Such a privilege to see a real one, and he seemed such an unbothered little chap too, just hopping along. Sounds daft to some I’m sure, but it brought me such a happy feeling. 🐿️
Decluttered a small beef joint and lots of lovely veggies for a roast today. We both ate almost every bit.
This morning was glorious, warm and sunny. After dinner it changed like someone flicked a switch. Cold and rainy. Not the nice proper rain drops but that awful get-in-your-bones drizzle. Hey ho, not complaining, at least it’s cooled down.
Decluttered an entire glass of juice over my sitting room carpet. I was planning on giving the sitting room a thorough deep clean and sort after the kitchen was done anyway😁
Been a quiet day on the whole. The calm before the storm! Please send good thoughts for me…..the vets coming in the morning to trim Frankie’s claws, and I have to catch him!! 🙀

Cute red squirrels - we have a few very ones here which Sox chases up the trees out front. A few small frogs dealt with but not much else. DGS4 came this morning whilst his mother did her lst shift at old job. We went shopping - not a cheap experience but we ate some ready meals and then he encouraged me to more gardening. Great afternoon at a quiz yesterday - fundraising for Nepal.
978 Meeting decluttered on line with a few follow up tasks added to frogs
979-980 Two gardening sessions filled recycling bin for Tuesday. The rest of the lavender roots dug up and then two weeding and clearing sessions. I have a plan for out front.
981 Plastics to SM
982 The rest of the October birthday cards posted.

@oceanspirit wow I haven't seen a red squirrel for decades - hopefully that's just london.
Well done on the cast coming off.

I used to live in a log cabin on the shore of Lake Windemere. I left my window open slightly one day and came home to the place completely trashed. Not burglars, red squirrels.😂🐿️

@Yorkie1 - One of our comedians always said, "Housekeeping will kill you, if done right." Quentin Crisp also said after four years the dust doesn't get any worse. Dusting is a good use for those covid masks.

Sunday was a cloudy & dry day with a high of 16°C, low of 8°C & a light SE wind. Another lazy day but I did make a start on writing November & December birthday cards - there are nineteen of them 😧 DH had stayed up overnight to watch the MotoGP races, Singapore I think, so got up early afternoon. DSis had a poor day with stomach ache so didn’t eat much even though I made a cottage pie from scratch. Wudupa.

TC77, good luck with your planned tidying, decluttering and cleaning 🍀
Great work clearing out your purse Willowtree222 👏 I must go through mine 😉
Great news about the sales Deb4 🥳 especially as it means you are using up packaging 👏 Sorry no ideas about how to dissuade your mum from buying toys for your DS every week 😔 but hopefully a few of our fellow declutterati who have experienced the same issue might share their thoughts 🤞Congratulation to your DS on his star 🥳 how proud you must be ☺️ Good luck with your WIPS 🍀
Florenceem, what a wonderful & touching gift from your Bestie 🥹 Excellent decluttering 👏 Also very pleased to hear about the 2lb weight gain ☺️
oceanspirit, hopefully you will see red squirrels again 🤞 Yippee to decluttering your cast 🥳 Excellent work using up the contents of your fridge & kitchen cupboards 👏
suzeesu2000, I think it should be 10 years 😉 Doesn’t sound daft at all as I remember that same happy feeling when DH & I saw a red squirrel a few years ago on one of our RBR trips 🥹 I must admit part of the happiness was due to the fact that we saw him before he ran in front of the motorbike 😮💨 Lovely pic of Frankie 😻 who looks like butter wouldn’t melt 🙊
oceanspirit, so jealous - red squirrels are so cute 🥰 + they are great photos 👏
GrannyKate, had to smile at Sox chasing squirrels ☺️ although I imagine he never catches them 😉 Great work in the garden 👏 I do hope DGS4 was helping 🤞
TC77, great work - a bit of everything 👏
vulpix, what a lovely story ☺️ thank you for sharing it with us 👏
weenancy, I hadn’t realised it was Quentin Crisp who made the comment about dust 🙊
Sleep tight 😴

I went through the inside freezer today. Got rid of lots of things that had been sat there a while.
Have emptied all bins ready for bin day tomorrow.

The sound of silence. A major road route has been closed for 3 months. It reopened this morning.Traffic was diverted along my road. It is good to be back to the normal amount of traffic with long stretches of no traffic. It really was beginning to bother me.
So, I expect another hour or so and the final crochet blanket for this year will be done. I want a rest from crafting so I am turning my attentions to diy. First restore the house number from the front wall. The house is too far back from the road to see the door number. I have bird boxes to paint and wall paper to strip. I also need to look at my baby plants in pots. I have promised some to a group who does gardening at the railway station. I always need to have a project on the go.

where I grew up it was the chipmunks you had to watch out for!! my mom had one that built a nest under the front doorstep and it would drive the dog wild as the chippie knew that it could sit a foot from the glass door and be perfectly safe.
gave the shower a good scrub while I was in there this morning and was astounded by the amount that came off the tiles. will give it another go next time as I'm sure I missed loads.
have also got some names to contact to see if they would like to take away (for free) our old bbq. loads of good metal on it so hopefully they'll be interested. OH didn't want to just leave it out - our council has a reputation for fining people if they deem stuff has been "fly tipped" at the edge of someone's property. We had planned on taking it to the tip but OH's back has been disastrous so we can't load it in the car. This is assuming too that his car will start which currently it's reluctant to do.
