@weenancyinAmerica i was warned against memory foam mattresses by the sales lady in the bed shop as they can make you too hot. The young lad serving me was pushing me to buy one and she interrupted to tell me this, bless him he couldn't understand how she knew to warn me, she patted him on the arm and told him she would explain about woman of a certain age on their break. At the time we were both in our mid 50s 🥵.
I wasn't sure whether I've had the lurgy or reaction to paint fumes or both, I'm still coughing and chesty but it's nearly gone 🤞 I did declutter 4lbs last week. So my lounge and dining rooms are lovely and tidy and empty. I can't get into my spare bedrooms!
I've spent the day trying to sort a issue with the local authority re elderly friend, the team who sent the letter have wiped their hands of it (no longer our problem) but can't give me a number of the team I need to speak to, the person who sent the letter did say she would email them to call me which hasn't happened 😡 I wouldn't mind but it's taken them months to write to me after I called in early July and I have explained multiple times about her financial situation. I sent a long email to the email address I have for adult social care with a if it's not you please forward I need to speak to someone. Our local authority adult social care is in a right mess (I'm being polite so not to get lots of !!s ) this is according to themselves.

@QueenJess won’t have a word said against a crispy chocolate cake!
Washing dried and all put away. Was a nice cool blowy day, as was today. I noticed a few brown leaves on the trees at the back.
Dinner for DH was fridge and for me was freezer and fridge.
Condensed my “listed” tote contents from 3 down to 2. Filled one lidded tote with ambient foods from pantry shelves and put on stack with other “new kitchen” stuffs. Got DH to sort through a crate under the pantry shelves. He sorted through and left bin stuff for me but took all the rest and another box of things upstairs to his newly organised shelves. Totally emptied the crate good man. Moved the bungees and rope to my big pot I use to boil whites and dishcloths in. Moved said pot to downstairs loo storage. Found 3 cartons of long life milk which have expired a few months ago 😳 so they will be dealt with in the morning.
2 sales packed and went this afternoon. 1 going in the morning and a big box of records being collected too I hope.
My pile of things for the veterans charity are stacking up nicely, seriously need a bigger house!

I love seeing all the crafting things people make. They are so beautiful.
Lots of frogs being decluttered this week. Mostly paperwork things, but had the electrician in today and he did lots of little jobs.
I had a lot of bulbs out around the house as well, so did a count yesterday and all were replaced today.

You have all been busy bees. You put me to shame.
Floss, my witch hazel tree bloomed about a month ago. Poor plants don't know if they are coming or going.
Mrs SD I looked up the butter box babies. Just awful.
Oceanspirit, I diagnose arm cast fatigue. Just think, this time next week.
Florenceem , think I like the plain gloves best, although they are all lovely.
I went through the gifts and wrappings box to wrap DGS's first birthday gifts. Some little boats for the bath.I still haven't sewn the cat buttons onto the quilt. Tomorrow is another day. As long as it is done by next week when we go down South.I finished another lap blanket tonight instead. Anyhoo as i was looking in the wardrobe I got my winter jumpers that fit me out. The ones currently too small are neat in a box at the bottom of the wardrobe. This forced a sort of the chest of drawers to fit the jumpers in. So far a Summer top and a jumper with matching scarf to go. I am yet to go through the rail in the wardrobe. That can be a rainy day job. There is a clothes swap soon locally, I might go if I can find a chum to go with. All this meant no weeding.
I am slimmer of the week again. More food to take home. It is getting embarrassing. I am also slimmer of the month. My knee is so much less painful. I am seriously Thinking of putting off the knee replacement. TBH, although the knees are very painful. my back hurts more and it is that that holds me back. If I have a new knee I won't suddenly be able to walk up mountains again. Just to say , my spine op was a big success 10 years ago. I now have arthritis and disc problems in a new place.
Take care Vx

My numbers included 40.dvd cases which someone wants, separate to the dvds themselves already counted 😀

I have managed to declutter several things at the library - children's librarian is connecting with a children's creative group that wants craft supplies, so the National Geographic cases, the cd cases and the DVD cases are going. Now why can't I do that with stuff at home? We are taking them our empty medicine bottles, four bags full -just have to transfer one bag to another as one of my cats has chewed off two corners of the bag. Now I know why there were bottles all over. The older cat has been having fun playing with all of the ones that have fallen out, but I will only leave a few for him to play with.
I have started checking locally for a non-foam mattress. It does seem they are much cooler. Our temperature next week is going to be hot again. I don't think I have been cool since April. I think it is harder to shop these days than it used to be. Too many choices for one thing.

It is wonderful to see you weenancy 🥹 Yikes to the continuing excessively high temperatures 🥵 Good news that you finally have a date for your back surgery. Morning,
Decided I need to get more things out before organising (apart from safety and piles that may topple over or trip hazards which are significant given tiredness and general clumsiness). Have trolley full for donation hub and items to post so will report back later.
Viewed a house yesterday, prob the right size, 2/3rd of current house, had thought it overlooked a green area, but unfortunately, overlooked the least attractive bit which I think was part of underground parking so not for me. Focused my mind though, if my house is overfull then ……. more effort needed!

WeenancyinAmerica im so very glad to hear one of your lodgers is moving out. First step in you getting the house back to being yours.
I hope you are able to find time and energy to list with them everything thats theirs that they must take with them on moving day. And also make it perfectly clear that nothing other than what is on that list is to be removed or you might find they strip your kitchen of all the useful stuff as they will need it in their new place. Get the list signed and give them a copy and probably tape one up near the door in large print so it can be ticked off as things leave on that day.
I'd have a declaration in there that anything that is theirs that doesn't go on moving day will be out for rubbish collection that night and then follow through on getting it out the house as soon as you can otherwise you are going to be left with stuff they want you to keep till they 'get sorted'
Then you will have how many completely clear rooms? Do they just have 1 room? Do they have stuff in the garage too ? What will be your plans for it?
Dxx
