Miss Ba Lu, I am so sorry to hear about your cousin. A very sad time for all the family.xx
Wishing you and Mr SD a very happy wedding anniversary Mrs SD.xx❤️🍾💐
Thank you very much for my medal.
dND, although we know worrying doesn't affect the outcome of anything it's hard not to do it. Loose yourself in Downton. I was very late to the party with it too. I enjoy the clothes and houses.
Thank you Suzeesu, I can do weight loss, it's the maintaining I can't do.🤦♀️You should join me. a pound a week is almost a stone before Christmas.
TC, you have got the bit between your teeth at the moment. Mind you , you have solidly decluttered for years. Look at how far you have come. Your smaller house is in touching distance.
Well I did a thing. I have bought a new, from an actual shop a sofa and stool. Should be delivered before Christmas so plenty of time for builder J to finish putting the connecting doors in and fitting the new fire. I would never have bought new with Fomo, he was a very prolific scratcher of carpet and some times sofa.
DS has said he would like a small book case which is currently in the bathroom. It has been in every room in the house but I have stored all the children's books in a butter box and only have very few other books left. I was ruthless with my hundreds of books 25 years ago. Not missed one of them. We will take it with us when we visit next week. DIL, not keen. DS is an avid reader and collector of books. They already have 4 bookcases. 2 of which came from me. Note to self, stop buying bookcases! The bathroom needs to be emptied for the new bathroom in November. The current shower is storage for all sorts. I am sure I will find some surprises when I empty it.
Vx

Yes @vulpix I shall join you, I have been saying that for a long time: as long as I lose a pound a week that’s 52 pounds in a year. Do I listen to myself? Do I fairy cakes! I weighed me today and thought someone else was standing on the scale with me😱 so no more sweeties, cakes and crisps for a while. I find being strict better for me, if I let a little treat in it all goes to pot. I’ll keep myself accountable to you if that’s okay? xx

Wednesday continued: DH & I swapped cards. Then 20 minutes later there was a knock on the door & a bouquet 💐 was delivered with a box of chocolates. The flowers are beautiful 😍
I had a relaxing bath & am currently air drying & combing out my hair as we are out for a meal tonight at our usual place - The Old Millwall Fire Station. A mainly Turkish menu. DH is about to have his bath & DSis has just headed out for an appointment at the doctor’s. She is fending for herself tonight 😊 DSis was out for an hour & a half - the doctor was running late but was also very chatty once DDis was with her. DSis had chicken & a baked potato for her dinner.1640 - 1642 Kitchen recycling, newspaper, plastic takeaway box & lid - recycled
1643 - 1644 Kitchen detritus, uu pen - binned
DH & I left at 19:00, had to wait for a bus but arrived at the restaurant by 19:20. It was busy so we were pleased that DH had booked. It was such a warm evening that the frontage windows were open. We ordered a couple of Turkish beers whilst we perused the menu. DH had babaghanoush followed by mixed shish & a tiramisu for dessert. I had muska boregi followed by Adana iskender. My starter was delicious but my main course was a pure delight 😋 I could only manage half so had a container to take the rest home. We finished off with a rather bitter coffee. I paid the bill & was delighted to discover that there was a 20% discount on the food 🤩 Yes, I did leave a tip 😉 Waited 5 minutes for the bus & were home by 21:10. I updated my accounts & discovered that we had been undercharged for drinks so I will pop in tomorrow & settle up. Added October’s 1p Challenge amount to my Terramundi Pot. I did the small amount of wudupa.
Green_hopeful, I love that your robin is camera shy 😉
Miss_BaLu, I could never understand why companies messed around with systems that work - if it ain’t broke don’t fix it 😖
TC77, love it “leaning into the chaos” 😅 & managing some excellent decluttering 👏
weenancy, I seem to remember that many of your cookbooks are almost social commentaries 🤔 I love that you & your sisters have such different tastes in collections ☺️
Miss_BaLu, ooh lovely - bourbons 🤤 don’t forget to leave a few in the TLC carriage 😉
Yippee to you & J sorting out the sticking front door Florenceem 🥳 At least with the rain the windows were already damp 😉 Love the colour scheme of your last pair of mitts ☺️
Lovely cheerleading dND ☺️ Hopefully the workmen will settle into a less chaotic way of working 🤞 Hope you are enjoying Downton Abbey 😊 So many tomatoes 🤩 hopefully you now have enough processed to last you into next year when you start growing your next crop 😉
Nodding off so will finish the cheerleading later today. Sleep tight 😴

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger Happy Anniversary for yesterday.
@Miss_BaLu so sorry to read about your cousin and that work is being unnecessarily irksome. Did your flood damage at the flat get put right? Did they sort you out with new furniture?
@suzeesu2000 I hope the weight loss goes well and that once off both you and @vulpix can keep it off. Not easy when food is manufactured to make us addicted and we are bombarded with food ads all day.
Spent yesterday morning grappling with technology whilst trying to fill in an online form. It took up my entire day's brain power so nothing else achieved. Emails are hovering at nearly 300 and the frog started over a week ago hasn't been touched so need to have a go at that today.

@Miss_BaLu so sorry to hear your sad news. Sending hugs and strength your way.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger Happy Anniversary to you and Mr S_D. Your celebration meal sounded yummy.

@oceanspirit - Yeah it was mostly sorted by the council, they rewired 4 of my lights, provided the humungous dehumidifier and uplifted the bed. I had to replace the bed but honestly I had given up the fight with them - I wanted a new bed anyway.
Last night was a bad night with the dogs, lots of extremely loud fireworks. Poor Bailey was panting, drooling and shaking for hours it went on from about 7pm till 10:30pm and unfortunately where I live it's only going to get worse.
I've booked my usual lodge so we're away from 31st October until 9th November so that we miss the worst of it and honestly I cannot wait for a break.
Didn't do any decluttering or sorting last night, just sat with the dogs and tried to comfort them.
Today is the viewing day for my cousin, I'm not going to see her but will be there for everyone who wants to. That's 3pm till 5pm.
Hope you had a lovely anniversary Mr and MrsSD - 34 years WOW. Flowers looked lovely and the meal sounded delish.
Plenty of bourbon creams left in the TLC carriage for those who need them.
And I'll join in on the decluttering of weight, I need to lose a LOT. Will get to my goal weight in 2027, I have made my mind up I'm sick of using food as an emotional crutch.

MrsSD - belated Happy Anniversary. I have never tasted Turkish food.
weenancy - hoping your op helps you.
Last night was not too bad in terms of pain or waking up. I had a lie in as I had got up early for 2 days as young Y gets here around 8 am.
Bestie is coming for me at 4.15 - we are going to a birthday party. - not sure if M is 90 or 91.
I watched the last episodes of the 2nd series of GBSB last night. I haven't watched any other tv.
Good luck to those wanting to lose weight.
