Welcome new joiners, nice to meet you.
suzeesuu, what a nice postie.
Gosh Florenceem , what a nice surprise to see you here. I know you are one for keeping busy. Sending very best wishes to you xx Gosh, as I have read more posts I see you are waiting for results. Best wishes for that too.xx I am pleased to know your family and your church family and your MSE family are there to support you if you need it.
LiverpoolAnne, Thank you, that is a good idea. I had sort of half thought of copying an idea someone on another thread I read does. Buying things in charity shops and selling them on ebay to help a small charity. Your friends idea of plants might be one I could do here. I live on a road now and could have a stall at the gate with an honesty box. Food for thought.
Well it did snow most of the night but it is warmer today so it isn't hanging around, good.
I have woken with a cold, not good.
We had a productive day yesterday. 7 pictures put up. There would have been more but we ran out of rawl plugs. How? I hear you say! Everybody owns an excess of rawl plugs! Well we have used them all, from 2 combined houses too, a feat people can only aspire to.
We also put little hairpin legs on an old Opticians cabinet. This was one of the pieces of furniture that I was considering getting rid of. It is a much more aesthetically pleasing height now so it has had a reprieve. Had to take the little bun feet off first. I save things like that for future projects.
Mr V sanded an Edwardian dressing table for me and man handled it upstairs. My job is to give it a coat of paint. (black) All the furniture in the big spare room is/ will be black. I have been given a beautiful mid century wooden bed head. I think it will have to be painted black. That is a shame as I usually only paint furniture that is in poor condition.
We have moved the furniture round in the sitting room. It feels more spacious. We were going to change the radiator position to accommodate the two, 2 seater sofas. Now I think it would be better to get a 3 seater and a chair instead and just replace the radiator with a more efficient one. Oh and move the telly into the other alcove.
Mr V going out later to meet up with old work friends. I plan to do nothing but knit. No cooking needed as I made far too much mushroom sroganoff yesterday. We will be eating it for days!
The only actual de cluttering yesterday was a plastic food box with a crack into recycling.

I've had a torch/lantern come back, although I decluttered a big handful of hairbands I've had for ages into the bin as they weren't that good, plus another lot a few days before.
They were either too small to tie my hair up properly, or were cheap ones I'd bought from Primark were snapping as I was tying my hair up.

Wonderful to see you @Florenceem - you have been in our thoughts over the last few months. I think we all realised you were busy with MrF and he was obviously, and quite rightly, your priority. Please do look after yourself now. I think you have a lot of inner strength as well as community support that will see you through the coming months.
Meanwhile - for those of you that have photos on your phone that you would like to add here I'll tell you what I do. One thing is to open up the forum on your phone and try to put in your comments and add the picture directly using the little mountain icon. If I can't get that to work I open an email and add the photo to it but not send it - it ends up in my draft folder. I can then go on my pc and open up the saved draft and copy the photo from there - usually as a snipping tool copy which shows up as a screenshot when you look for the folder with the photo to add. Hope that makes sense!!!
edited to add intended declutter.....our recycling collection is still out of sync so I'm giving the OH until Sunday afternoon to tidy the dining room. He tends to dump boxes in the corner of the room when he's received something he's ordered on line. Add to that there's a lot of post holiday bits that have just been left and need to be chucked or stored properly. I've been too helpful to him in the past and I think he now believes the fairies come and tidy and clean and put out the bins. Friday: when I looked at today’s forecast before I went to bed it was supposed to snow from 05:00 until 14:00. Instead we have rain with a high of 7° (feeling 9° colder due to gusting NW wind) & a low of 2°C. I was up a lot earlier today - 10:30 but not yet dressed although I have my first cuppa & am settling down to cheerleading posts dated the 5th:
SpikyHedgehog, oh dear, sounds like bringing home more than you gifted was not quite what you intended 😬 Well done to elder son 👏 I am very sorry to hear about the seizure 😔 although relieved to hear that you ‘are fine’. Hopefully you will soon be cleared to drive, as I can almost feel your frustration at not being able to move the decluttered items to their final destinations 😢 Some great decluttering & tidying 👏 & yes you should count the church stuff that you eventually return especially if it is in your home longer than a week 😊
Nice suggestion boultdj 👏
Moorviews, well done on getting the downstairs vacuumed & cleaned after the Christmas decorations went back in the loft 👏 & good news that MrMV is continuing with the loft decluttering 👏 Fingers crossed that your car is OK 🤞
GrannyKate, good luck selling the Kallax unit 🍀 Good decluttering especially dealing with a frog 👏
Great decluttering Willowtree222 👏 Fingers crossed that you will soon be able to drop off the bag of clothes 🤞
Yorkie1, I see that BlueJ94 has responded 😊
BlueJ94, thanks for explaining frogs 👏
Deb4, hope you had a great day once DS had been taken to school 😊
DawnW, relieved to hear that you didn’t have to venture out into icy conditions 😮💨 I see that you used the time profitably - great work in the kitchen 👏
Great work QueenJess 👏 especially processing the contents of the ‘Buy Nothing’ bag & only keeping useful items 🥳
ladybird1106, donating items to the food bank is a great start to your decluttering campaign 👏
Yorkie1, sounds like a course on Time Management 🤔 Love that the only thing you remember is the elephants and ants, in terms of deciding what work to do and when. 😊 My only memory of a similar course is “to eat the elephant a bit at a time” sadly no mention of ants 😉 As to This “You go to the pub at lunchtime (I did say it was some time ago!)” I remember those times fondly 😅
oceanspirit, a productive day with lots of mini tasks decluttered 👏
suzeesu2000, another member of the Declutterati who had a productive day 👏 Everything crossed that your usual stairlift engineer can work some magic 🤞
Brambling, when my ‘get up & go’ vacates the premises I manage to switch the TV on 😉 so well done on sorting & cleaning the fridge 👏Good luck at the dentist 🍀
dND, the 5th was an excellent & very productive day for you 👏 Great work getting so much done especially the ironing pile 🥳 You deserve a medal 🏅 which is on its way 😊 Btw the soup you made sounds delicious 😋 I would have offered to taste test for you 😉 Hopefully now that you have done all the prep work, you will be able to put the CD/DVD towers in position & get them stocked 🤞
A perfect place& time to post - at the end of a page & with my cup needing a refill 😉 Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible & staying safe, warm & dry 😊 See you later 👋

A little progress today.
A frame that had broken put in the bin and a couple of items binned. I started tidying up the office room ready to be made into a bedroom again.
The last of the Christmas decorations put back in the loft. They were packed away but needed moving up.September 2017 Debt = £25330
Starting afresh.

Hi everyone
It's lovely to read your posts again @Florenceem and as others have said, your virtual MSE family is here for you and are sending gentle hugs.
@vulpix that is a great initiative to support, well done that person, hope they do manage to find a house for veterans with PTSD. Buxton looked very pretty in the snow on TV this morning!
I gave old chocolate tubs to a GK pub last year, they seemed to know all about it, I also recently saw a collection point in a supermarket - may Morreys son??
I've decluttered some soft plastics in my local c00p and distributed all my Xmas 25 presents now plus paid the various teenagers in the family their Xmas money
I'm emptying my bookshelves as the decorator is due next week; I've put a couple of books in the CS bag, I've got about 6 bags now so I need to start dropping some off!
Love to everyone

Have sorted through and decluttered the very large, tatty veg basket today. Most veg now neatly stored in a crate and some peppers that looked like they might need eating imminently, frozen. All past it veg decluttered to the compost heap and the basket in the boot to go to the tip.17

I woke at 4.30 and couldn't get back to sleep so had an early start.
Re the advice on taking it easy and sitting - I was diagnosed with LS in September so long spells of sitting are not good. I have invested in a special seat with appropriate cut outs. I had never heard of LS - Lichen Sclerosus and so joined a discussion group. I was getting agonising pain until I was given the right medication. I still get a lot of pain but it is no longer the rocking and crying level.
My Dil visited today - she came with a bag of food as worried that I am not eating. I did eat a shepherd's pie meal with tinned tomatoes - first food I have vaguely enjoyed since Christmas day. I am even not eating chocolate!
There are half pint tankards in the cabinet with the Round Table emblem - not sure what to do with those.
I deep cleaned the end of the hall where the shoe rack sits - so dust bunnies have gone. The rack only contains four pairs of shoes now - that set me crying.
As part of keeping busy and because it was long overdue - I deep cleaned the cloakroom - now I have found the sink is leaking at the pipework. A chap from Church is coming to have a look later this afternoon.
Brie - too complicated for me at the moment re uploading pics.

@Florenceem - I've never heard of LS but you will know your own body and mind better than anyone. Hope the leak is an easy fix.Been home around an hour and still defrosting my toes. Nipped to Tesco for some bits and had toasted cheese roll with a pot noodle for lunch - not healthy at all but I needed something quick and hot. This will all change when the diet starts on Monday!Someone posted on a local FB group that they have a bag of teddies going for free, gonna go grab them later, will add them to the stash I've got in the cupboard for the dogs to play with and this will massively help me in not spending any money on dog toys in 2026.I'm gonna sit for an hour then I'll give the living room a tidy, the throws on my couch are extremely furry!Debt Free - 4th June 202516
