@grandmanerd have you considered buying a dehumidifier & airer? It is cheaper than using a dryer (although I must admit to tumbling my towels on low for 30m then hanging on the airer!).2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Good evening. Just a quick post as going to bed.
Yesterday I went through the pets cupboard and have a box of things to go and then through the 'baking' cupboard as nothing actually fit and had loads of stuff on top of the freezer that should be in there. Some things thrown and I have a pile of stuff I need someone to check dates on as I can't see them. Will post list once sorted.
Only thing decluttered today is a glass that didn't need decluttered after one of the DC knocked it off the side.
I think tomorrow I need to look at DVDs. We got rid of the shelf before Christmas as needed to put a book shelf there snd now have 3 and a half 80L storage tubs full of DVDs. We haven't watched them in years and dont actually have a DVD player.
Right better get some sleep, will hopefully have something to actually add to my list tomorrow.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

@charlies_tribe, we cleared a load of books out via one of the sites that pays you for them. They arrange collection too, within 2 days, which is free. You might only get a few pence each for your DVDs but it quickly mounts up. We received £50 for our books.Saving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Hi all, reasonable day today. 12 items to the cs, found a new one with a sign in the window saying stock wanted 😁, also signed up for their gift aid. This is the first time I have been asked to do this when taking things to a cs so I am taking this as a sign they are organised 😂.
While I was there I got a message from the builder to say he was on his way, text back to let him know where I was and that I was on my way 😁. He checked over the toilet but couldn't find any leaks, everywhere dry but he said keep an eye on it and he would come back if it happened again. While he was here we had a discussion about the kitchen, what needs to be done etc. The wall is damp so everything will have to go back to brick and dry out. I will hire a dehumidifier, he thinks it will take a couple of weeks. He is also going to investigate and correct any issues he thinks might be causing the damp before they move on to boarding and replastering etc and then fitting the new kitchen. He will start mid February so I am hoping to have a new kitchen by mid March 😀. Now we have a timescale I can work on setting up a temporary kitchen in another room which will consist of a kettle, microwave oven and an induction job I am borrowing from my friend E. Before it all happens I will empty and defrost one of the freezers and work towards filling it with some batch cooked meals which can be reheated in the microwave. Busy days ahead 😁 but it will be so worth it even if I am driven crazy with it all while it is happening 😁. I also decluttered 3 bags of plaster type stuff, a gallon container of pva and a dustpan and brush back to the builder so my porch is my own again 😂.
After the builder had left I took a bag of hard plastic to the tip 😁. On the way home I stopped at a shop I have been driving past for a few months, hand made crafts and workshops. I have been meaning to call in to have a look what is in there and today was the day 😁. They do lots of things, art of various kinds, air dry clay, printing etc. So I have picked up a leaflet and will spend some time going down the rabbit hole of their website to see if there is anything I want to try 😁.
When OH got home we did a bit more sorting of the bags from the car boot and filled the black bag that has been lurking in the lr for a few days which went into the wheelie bin at last. The remaining stuff from the car boot will have to be sorted by this weekend as I need that floor space 😁.
Also uu another candle 😁.
WOW the train is really moving 😂
@Crazycatlady2 everything crossed for you for 5th feb, big hugs.
@Vulpix yes I think if you have reasonably priced cs near by that have some good things it would be possible to make some money by selling either on eb, v or fb. As for the plants again they can make money. My friend usually makes a couple of hundred every year but it is her passion and she has a lot of greenhouse space. She generally grows from seed flowers and easy veg like tomato which everyone likes, she collects pots, yoghurt cartons etc from friends to use and often people return them to her once they have potted on what they have bought so apart from the compost there isn't much cost though I do think it's time consuming 😁.
@Mrs SD thank you for my medal, one day I will sort out my signature 😂
@Floss glad the bathroom went well, it gives me hope I can survive the kitchen refurb 😂
@DawnW I learned a long time ago to never hold my breath where OH is concerned 😂
Interesting conversation about heated airers. I must admit I put up my maiden on the landing near a radiator and stuff generally dries in a day or so. If we need things quickly OH takes it to the bag wash to use the drier 😁.
Right time to get to sleep 😁
Hugs to everyone who would like one

@charlies_tribe I second @suzeesu2000 suggestion for the DVDs. I have a regular declutter of books we’ve read and won’t reread via the dedicated selling sites. You don’t earn lots for each item but collectively the pennies mount up. They will collect once you hit a certain number of items which is great as it saves you a job! They also have apps to make it easier to scan the barcodes!✒️ Declutter 2025 🏅👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

26 minutes clearing - continuing to work on the kitchen island (has dishwasher, sink unit and 14 drawers!) - today was an absolute dumpster of a kitchen drawer, unusable as too stuffed. how many rulers and rubbers and staplers does a person need?!
Best find - $100 bill! (and an envelope of stamps from the post office stamp swap and since forgotten)
it has left me with a couple of tupperwares of stuff still to sort but the drawer is usable and stuff did also go in the bin - will start with the tupperwares next 26 minute declutter
I also oiled the aisle worktop (and tossed the now definitely empty can - now need to find the spare which I've had a while).
