I am looking into the dehumidifier. I can't remember who also suggested that you do a second spin on the washing to remove any excess water. Apologies for not being able to credit the person but I have also found that works as well.September 2017 Debt = £25330

Mine is a Daewoo 12L, with timer, laundry function & 2 speeds.
I've spent more money on my bathroom but in its defence, it has had none since I moved in 6½ years ago! The storage furniture will all stay boxed until the decorating is done at the end of January.
Bath cushion & 2 PYREX bowls (inherited from my mum) passed onto DiL Bath rack, shower caddy, surplus clothing, books & assorted stuff to be donated tomorrow. £s paid to vet for boosters & check-up for my now 15yo cat, who is about to have a new catnip toy to celebrate!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I don't think I have posted today - finding it hard to remember.
I was awake early so got up. I packed my shopping trolley with a bag of donations and walked into town. The girl I wanted to avoid because of how she gushes about Mr F hadn't started her shift.
I had to wait at the cold and blowy harbour for a bus.
Came home and while I had 2 cups of tea to warm me up - I got our SA uniforms packed in my trolley to take to the dry cleaners. Obviously I am having Mr F's uniform cleaned before handing it in. My uniform was preloved and never fitted me well. I have lost a lot of weight so will buy new formal SA uniform.
The vicar from our previous Church called with a card.
I had to wait in the cold again for a bus to the next town - our dry cleaners closed. On my way to the bus stop - I called in at a charity shop as they knew Mr F. They were shocked and sad. I nearly lost it when I was told that Mr F was always talking about me and how much he loved me.
After leaving the dry cleaners - again I was waiting for a bus. My LS was really hurting on the way home.
My builder friend arrived - what a palaver - the bit he had with him didn't fit so he went home to get something else. That was not fitting so he had to brave the traffic to visit a shop at the shopping outlet.
When he came back - it was with a 3 metre length of pipe + new sink parts - you can't buy a short bit which was what he needed. He was going into the garage for water and fell over the dodgy step and bent the metal strip - he had to bang it with a hammer before he left so I could close the door.
I had a door handle which was loose - I knew how to get hold of it - he knocked it on the floor - he did fix the handle before he left.
I went in the cloakroom to wash the floor after he left and thought the pipework was leaking.
When the floor dried - it was leaking so I rang him.
Now I still have a leak under the sink in the cloakroom with a towel on the floor. Friend thinks it leaks when the sink is used. We will have to liaise his return next week as I don't know when I will be out.
My daughter and granddaughter called with some food goodies for me.
That builder wore me out.

You have got an awful lot done @Florenceem but do try to take it steady. Hope you can relax a bit tomorrow
Not much decluttered here today really, just a game for DGD and a piece of fabric for her crafts. On the food side I did however declutter some ageing broccoli and Christmas cheese into broccoli and stilton soup for lunch, and chopped up a load of tomatoes and spring onions from the fridge, and put them in pots to freeze - they will do instead of tinned tomatoes when I next make a chilli or Bolognese. I had to skin the tomatoes first, which was fiddly even though I slit the skins and poured boiling water over them first. Still, all done now.19 -
Did a lot of “stuff” today, mostly at laptop. All laundry washed, dry and folded. Just one thing to iron.Decluttered a leg of lamb out the freezer for Sunday dinner.
Updated my savings sheet so I know where I am. DH thinks I’m daft as I like a savings account for each reason I’m saving. I said it’s like having a row of jam jars like mum & dad had. He shook his head and went and made a cuppa🤣
Sold an item on Vinted. Wondering if there is anything I can do to increase sales- any suggestions gratefully received.

DawnW - My friend is picking me up and taking me to her SA corps tomorrow as I can't face going to mine.
I was trying to read from the start of the year - Vulpix - re infections - I think Mr F had hidden ones.
I only have 3 items on my ironing pile now but think some may have made it's way into the ROD.
I am better keeping busy.
I still sometimes think Mr F is just in hospital with an infection and will be home and then I realise.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

My thoughts and prayers are with you @Florenceem as you navigate these sad and difficult early days. I’m so sorry that you have your own health problems and pain to have to cope with too. As always you seem to achieve far more than the average person and seem to have such good instincts for what needs to be done. Your builder does sound as if he created more problems than he resolved. I hope his next visit is more fruitful.@Elisheba - you have accomplished such an amazing transformation in your life and fortunes! It is so inspiring to read of the part that decluttering has played in your thinking and everyday life.@Dizzycap - do take care of yourself as well as you do Babyface. I thought your coat hanger dachshunds were amazing! We have sorted out more from the loft, done a RC and a CS run. As we had a bin collection too I was able to put some things into landfill and get all of the household bins and recycling emptied.I am getting lots of ideas from all the activities of the Declutterati so thank you everyone for posting and all take good care of yourselves 💕🙏 An extra thank you and a 🌟 for Mrs SD and her fantastic cheerleading!23

@Florenceem I'm so sorry to hear about Mr F. I have read your posts on other threads in the past, and you are in my prayers.
Decluttering today -
* Moved the old metal day bed parts from the hall upstairs to the hall downstairs. It'll be the weekend after next before I can take it to the tip, but at least it will keep my mind focused on remembering it does need to go. Also makes hoovering upstairs easier!
* Decluttered a bag full of books from the upstairs bookcase and took them to the bus shelter library.
* Took 4 letters to the post box to get returned to sender as recipients no longer live at this address
* Decluttered another bag of books from the downstairs bookcase and will take them to the bus shelter when I get the chance.
* Finally read a book that I have had on my Kindle since 2012! It was very good as well. Having a lot of unread books is mental clutter for me (and I have so many 🤣), so every one I get through, or decide I'm just never going to read, is a bit of a result.Live the good life where you have been planted.
