Understairs cupboard and the cupboard over the stairs pulled out and tidied and repacked. A couple of bits into recycling. Others to be repurposed. DSis found a 50 birthday badge from her birthday and, as I have a couple of 50th birthdays coming up, I’ve put that in the ‘present box’ for regifting.✒️ Declutter 2025 🏅👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Sorted out the glasses and mugs and decluttered quite a few. I moved the glasses into a cupboard which was formerly full of absolutely nothing I needed and only kept matching sets. All the odd mugs have gone too but I still have too many really. Might earmark some for the camping box.21

Xmas decs have now been put back in the attic. I went to put the new door curtain and rod up today but have found that the pole is too long and goes behind the electric switchboard next to the door. The previous one I bought last year was too short. I've had to buy a pipe cutter to chop off around 1-2 inches. This should be coming tomorrow. Grrr. The old curtain is back up for now.
Dinner was pork steaks and veg found lurking at the bottom of the fridge. Spare mash for tomorrow's lunch of potato cakes. The last of the homemade fudge has gone.
Decluttering:-

16-17 - DVD and packaging also sold on ebay
@Florenceem It's good that you're keeping yourself busy but please take time out for yourself. xx

Not too much done today but went out this afternoon. Roads are bad but we have only had a feathering of snow here and there. DD has so much more but managed to return DGS1 to uni today. DGD1 wants to go next weekend a week before she needs to be there but it will depend on weather. DD will be here this week for two nights. I took youngest two DGCs swimming - the pool was very warm but I may have been comparing that with the unheated hotel pool in Finland last month.
75 Meeting decluttered
76 Desk/table collected by lovely young couple £30
77 Old bedside lamp has gone to DGS4's room at his dads
78 Beef joint decluttered from freezer to DS2 for Sunday lunch tomorrow
79 Braising steak and random vegs cooked all day in slow cooker. 4 portions - one eaten and 3 for freezer
My oldest 'baby' is 54 tomorrow - impossible to believe how the years have gone. I sent his card home with his wife after Christmas. Which reminds me I must write and get the stamps for my two February birthdays which are both in USA.2026 Decluttering and redistribution 85/1526 Major job list 0/500 Total 85/2026

Fab you returned and ousted stuff TC. I would put money on you already having a wardrobe full of lovely clothes for every occasion, like myself! I love clothes too. It's a curse.
I am wearing my new socks right now that I didn't need!
Not much done today. The little I did do took ages. The under sink cupboard was emptied. The shelf had collapsed because I found out it only had 3 supports. Mr V drilled a hole and fitted another support.Washed the cupboard out whilst it was empty and condensed like with like to release a few boxes. Moved a shelf higher in another cupboard to enable tall stuff to fit. I also emptied the bottom of a corner cupboard.Paints and diy stuff. Threw out some grout. Got out stuff for hopefully next weeks frogs. Hooks for the back of bedroom doors. Black paint for the Edwardian dressing table and headboard. Paint for our bedroom furniture where it was a bit chipped in the move. Gold spray paint to change the colour on the wardrobe handles. I think that's enough for one week. Hopefully put more pictures up though.
I am cracking on with knitting. On my 3rd charity balaclava in 2 days.
Tomorrow I will have a sort of my wardrobe and chest of drawers, It's still not working right for me. Still not enough like with like. I am hampered by my knee. I have to admit to myself that It is getting worse not better.
Mrs SD, I like to think of the removal woman riding round in her van, windows down, blue fluffy dressing gown flowing in the breeze.

Hi all, another reasonable day today 😁. 4 sessions of ironing spread throughout the day while listening to saved podcasts, a bag of wood decluttered in the log burner which made a bit of space and cheered me up 😁. Lr bin emptied and 100 emails deleted, 2 LDFPA with only 2 things added to the ironing pile 😂.
Tried to persuade OH to tackle another bag but no luck yet 😂. We got a voucher for Christmas for our favourite restaurant, OH wanted to go tonight but I said no I want to save it for when we have no kitchen. OH agreed this was a good idea but still sulked 😂.
@DundeeDoll what great finds in the kitchen draw 😁, good luck with the Tupperware 😁
@Elisheba what a brilliant journey you have been on 😁. Congratulations on finding the right cottage for you 😁. You are indeed an inspiration for us, good luck with the move and I look forward to hearing how it all goes 😁.
@canvascamper maybe check everything before it goes back to see if you really need / want it. Could be a good decluttering opportunity 😁.
@charlies_tribe great tactics to get their bedroom sorted , I think you are on to a winner there 😁
@Dizzycap loved the xmas daxies and I can't wait to see the angel, you are very talented 😁.
@daisy_1571 and others thank you for the info about dehumidifiers, I don't think I need one to dry the washing but I will be looking for one to dry out the kitchen walls, though I will probably look to hire an industrial size one 😂.
@Florenceem big hugs, you are doing so well at this difficult time.
@Vulpix re the dressing gown , so funny 😂.
Right I am falling asleep so time for bed.
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Saturday continued: I ended up sorting out my 2025 1p Savings Challenge monies rather than knitting 🙂 I really do need to plan a shopping trip to treat myself especially as I still have most of 2024’s savings 😉 + started my 2026 1p Savings Challenge. Starting back with the cheerleading - still on the 7th
London_1, great decluttering of books - a good ratio 👏 I like the idea that you are converting an American into a Brit 🤭 Although I imagine she still has her American accent 😉 Talk about a busy Thursday - car service in the morning & U3A in the afternoon 😊 Good luck with the jigsaw which sounds quite challenging 🍀 Fingers crossed that you won’t be too badly affected by the horrid weather 🤞
DawnW, an excellent days decluttering 👏
Lovely to see you 2Scratters 😊 An excellent start to your 2026 Decluttering campaign 👏 I love This “I won't be counting but creating spaces that will grow 😇” what a great mantra ☺️
jivjules1, excellent work combining the Grocery Challenge with Decluttering 👏 This “Tried to use chat gpt for an inventory using voice recognition but for some reason it all came out Welsh 😂😂” had me laughing out loud 🤣
BlueJ94, well done on closing unnecessary accounts 👏
ShelivesintheShire, excellent work sorting the freezer 👏 Followed by sorting a drawer & gathering together enough items for a CS trip 👏 You have definitely caught the decluttering bug 😊
oceanspirit, I think that giving presents after Christmas is perfect 😉 Well done getting emails back under 200 👏
I broke off here to make a Bolognaise sauce which is now simmering gently…….. Cooked the spaghetti. DSis didn’t eat hers because she decided the spaghetti was too hard (she likes hers very, very soft) but DH & I thoroughly enjoyed ours 😋 Whilst I was doing the washing up, I took out the bottom freezer drawer & rearranged/sorted the contents. Ended up removing 5 small plastic pots & lids by decanting into 2 larger pots 🙂 + removed something unidentifiable (no label ☹️) which I am leaving to defrost but will probably be binned. Finished the wudupa including the 5 plastic pots which have now been recycled 😉
52 - 61 Kitchen recycling, cardboard box, magazine, 5 small plastic pots, glass bottle, plastic bottle - recycled
62 Kitchen detritus - binned
Pennypincin, I was so pleased to see that you have invested in a couple of good pairs of shoes 😊 (have added to my list of treats) Very impressed with the 5st weight loss & you should count this as very encouraging as you know that you can lose weight 🥹 Hopefully you will get back on track this year 😊 Some good decluttering 👏 & don’t worry about bringing items in - all very useful & all will eventually be used up 😊
suzeesu2000, a busy & productive week 👏 Very impressed that you also persuaded DH to join in with the decluttering 👏 Fingers crossed that the storm bypassed you & your preparations were not required 🤞
canvascamper, yippee to new flooring 🥳 I see that your question about brand names has been answered by Floss 😊
_Dolly_Rocker_, welcome back, lovely to see you 😊 Lovely post & well done on reading all 43 pages 👏 I have made a note of your main intentions for the year - Using Up & what I will call ‘Mindful Shopping’ There is no such word as ‘fail’ when it comes to books ‘wagging finger emoji’ (I really miss that emoji 😢) Especially as you probably donate books to the CS once you have read them & particularly if you didn’t enjoy them 😊 I see that you are in good company with QueenJess 😊 A busy & successful Wednesday 👏
Brambling, sending get well wishes to your friend 🥹 As to This “I went through my crafting / art books and haven't moved any to the CS pile but about 5have been moved to the need to think about it pile! To be revisited.” I like it 🙂 After all with art or craft books you don’t want any ‘decluttering regrets’ 😉
TC77, sorry to hear that you feel your house is ‘a bit depressing’ 😔 Although it does sound like this is mainly due to having everything out of DD1’s old bedroom & distributed into other rooms, whilst you are having the new carpets fitted - which also means that soon the temporary chaos will be sorted 🥹 Out of the chaos will come calm 😊
Ta-da, just about to start on posts dated the 8th 😃
Lovely post purplevamp 😊 I have missed out again - I would have offered to taste test your banana bread cakes 😉
Liverpool_Anne, what a busy Wednesday 👏 Rather pleased to hear that you ignored the vacuuming & decided to go out 😉 Curious to know what you will make with your yarn stash 🤔
Excellent work Ms_Potato_Head 👏 It sounds like you are doing a great job of unpacking 😊 Especially impressive that you are managing to find suitable places to put things away & decluttering at the same time 👏 Such a lovely compliment which all our Declutterati family will appreciate 🥹
TC77, not moaning at all, I think you were just feeling a bit down about the chaos caused by clearing a room ready for the new carpet 🥺 I don’t think you are alone in counting clutter but not sure it is that conducive to a good night’s rest 😉 Shame that no-one wanted the mattress 🙁 although we had exactly the same issue & had to have ours collected by the council ☹️ Fingers crossed you find a lot of cables/chargers & that any that DD1 doesn’t want can be disposed of quickly 🤞
Great decluttering florianatwobob 👏 just from rummaging through your desk drawers 🤩
Good decluttering Wednesday2000 👏 Very sensible of the CS to put your yellow trainers in the window display almost like a beacon 🤭
Great post 2Scratters 😊 I am loving that you get excited knowing that something will soon be decluttered & not replaced 🥲
Excellent decluttering CRANKY40 👏 Good luck reducing your yarn stash & good luck knitting socks 🍀 I am not even brave enough to try 😉
Pennypincin, thanks for the mention of dolly pegs 👏 I remember them fondly, so will keep a look out 😉
Excellent decluttering vulpix 👏 although I am surprised to learn that you still have anything left to declutter 😉 Putting in a request for photos once the jumpers are knitted 🙏 Good job you went shopping on Wednesday, as the weather forecasters were actually correct 😉 Looks beautiful but I see the heavy snowfall caused lots of problems 😞 What a wonderful idea - starting a new charity to help out ex-servicemen suffering from PTSD - wishing the guy every success 😊 & good luck with your fund raising efforts 🍀 You devil - treating yourself to a couple of pairs of socks in the sale 😈 😂
oceandreamer, nothing wrong with starting your decluttering journey slowly 😊 just shows that you know what works for you 👏 I wish you every success & remember we are all here to cheer you on ☺️
A long post …..sorry 😞 I am slowly catching up so will try to keep up the momentum 🙂 Sleep tight 😴
