2026 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD - our Year of Redistribution

Hi all, I will try and read this year's posts to catch up. I am afraid that I haven't been able to keep up last year since I posted.
Thank you for the messages of sympathy.
Obviously I have so much to do and organise in between the bouts of crying.
This morning I took the wheelchair back to Salvation Army as every time I went in the garage I saw it. I took a bag of clothes recycling at the same time.
My aim today was to deep clean the cloakroom which meant removing the coats from the back of the door. I washed two coats which will go to the charity shop. There was an XL jacket belonging to Mr F and a L one as he had lost weight.
I hope everyone is well and coping with the bad weather. It is raining hard here.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Thanks for the welcome everyone and it's really interesting to see how people are approaching this.
I'm not going to set a target of items, as I know I'll just lose count!
Aims for January = get the Christmas items away, get all the plastic tubs out, match them with lids and recycle those which need lids but don't have them, count the remaining, and make an informed decision about how many I actually need to keep (and recycle the rest).22 -
Sending you a HUGE hug @Florenceem. I’m so very sorry for your loss. Keeping you in my prayers, God bless xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Have sorted the cookery books into two boxes and put them in the cupboard. This means that the bookshelf can now go out of the kitchen and I have managed to declutter 8 books.21

I never have a target of items, I just aim to improve as a way to move forward and make progress. It has taken me years to get to a point where I can get rid of things easily. At one point I had four large bookcases full. Now I only have one and even that is only half full. You would have never seen me give a book away 5 years ago. Now I recycle every book I have. I only keep the ones I love and plan to read, or signed editions.Yorkie1 said:Thanks for the welcome everyone and it's really interesting to see how people are approaching this.
