Mrs SD, do I have another pair of gloves 🤔 I thought you would know me by now. I have 3 woollen pairs although one I don't think is a true pair ! I also have leather gloves - for best ( aka new and unused). I bought 3 pairs about 4 years ago in the sales to give as presents but cousin didn't want a pair and I forgot who else they were for so I think gave to cs.
New carpet looking good although carpet fitter still working and old one will go out and new mattress in and mine on dd2's bed.

Not much done today as I have been at work. Just 1 perfume atomiser in the recycling, as the perfume had been used up, and 1 dead / dying plant into the compost bin, after cutting off the tips to root in a glass of water to make new plants - it is a tradescantia plant, and this always works.20

Not sure if I should really count these but I’ve decluttered 14 Christmas cards to the recycling bin. I feel like I’d be reasonably comfortable to class as decluttering, anything that has taken up space for more than a day or so. That means not just rubbish but maybe flyers or bits and bobs that have been put aside to sort later!58/2026!Vicky xGrocery challenge:Jan 2026 £282.20/600 . 2026 Decluttering challenge 92/202619

Okay no decluttering today but we've an amber warning for snow. This is currently what it looks like local to me, this is also a main route.
All within an hour.. the first photo was sent to me by a friend!

VickyV - it is definitely good to count all those things!
I have cleared access to the loft ready for the plumbers in the coming weeks and to make it easier for us to get things down for sorting out and making space up there. Furniture moved around and some things going to the bin and RC. Cushion covers washed and in my CS bag. I went through a glassware cupboard and sorted a lot of worn out glasses to go to recycling. This has made space for some other things that haven’t had a home and have been cluttering the counter. I binned a collapsed candle from a lantern and will put fairy lights in there instead. I treated the bath waste with washing soda and a plunger so that now flows freely. The Christmas cards have been processed into bookmarks, gift tags and recycling. Some large biscuit tins are also going for recycling as my collection seems to have been breeding. The wind is really building up out there now and snow is forecast overnight. We have moved the cars away from trees and I have something from the freezer to heat up for tea. I don’t fancy cooking by candlelight! I hope that all others in affected areas remain safe 🤞21 -
Today’s laundry now finishing drying in front of the fire. I tend to only light fire to air washing, not to keep me warm! The big candle is also lit - it will take several more goes before it burns down enough to get rid.
Discovered that small electricals can now be put out with our recycling so an old toothbrush is out and awaiting collection. It’s been gathering dust in the bathroom for around 3 years so very happy to see it go. UU more food items today so jars washed ready to go to bottle bank.
I seem to have mislaid 2 wool blankets and a few towels. I am guessing they are in a box in the loft having needed to be moved when OH moved in so will have to ask someone young and fit to go up and have a look for me.21 -

Thursday continued: After a short break I am back with a fresh cuppa & ready to continue cheerleading posts dated the 4th:
Of course you can join us Yorkie1, the more the merrier 😊 It was only when I read your post & saw BlueJ94’s screen print that I realised we were famous 😊 My suggestion to get you started on your decluttering journey is to start small - grab a black bin bag & walk around each room throwing away any visible rubbish. Then put that bag straight into your wheelie/outside bin. Then do the same with a recycling bag - collecting newspapers, cans, bottles etc. Re the plastic tubs, takeaway boxes etc you can do a quick check on your council web site to check if they can go straight into your recycling bin 😊 You have got this - you have found us & we are are ready to encourage you towards your new clutter free life 🥹 Btw I do remember those puzzles but cannot for the life of me remember the name 🤨
DundeeDoll, that definitely sounds like more than 26 minutes of work 👏 but what a great find - no wonder you are “very happy” 😊
DH & DSis got back 15:30 in the rain which at 17:40 is a steady downpour 😞 I have put away all freezer & fridge stuff & just have potatoes to put away.
40 - 41 Cardboard box, paper packaging - recycled
Welcome back greent 👋 I thought I recognised your name 😊 Firstly congratulations on losing so much weight last year 👏 I have made a note of your goals & see that you have made an excellent start on two of your goals & have started your plan for the third one 👏 Looking forward to following your progress & wishing you lots of success with your selling ☺️
BlueJ94, wow on the front page - we are famous 🤩
Brilliant post daisy_1571 🥳 Thanks for reminding us all of several ways we can get started 👏 A great cheerleading post (as is your 2nd post) & I especially like This “Good luck, it will get easier, you'll get lots of encouragement here and you'll get lots of ideas and everyone eventually finds a sentence or idea that clicks with them, there's as many ways to motivate yourself as there are declutterati 😆” the underlined bit is so true ☺️
canvascamper, good luck with your selling 🍀 Clearing out 3 bedrooms so that new floors can be fitted sounds like a major challenge 🤩 although hopefully some items can be completely decluttered as you work 🙏 Are your children helping or would that just cause you more work 🤨 Fingers crossed that you can get back into your work routine quickly 🤞
Brambling, great decluttering of books 👏 I trust that you are proud of the ratio of 10 out, 1 in ☺️ A lovely thing to do for your elderly friend 🥹 Good luck with with whichever task you choose - frogs or clothes 🍀
purplevamp, very pleased to hear that the dressing gown is being sent back 😊 You deserve better than ill fitting clothing 🙂 Fingers crossed that the drill will turn up 🤞Great progress on your Pantry Challenge 👏
I will do a little jig once I have posted this as I have finished cheerleading posts dated the 4th 🥳 Will make & eat dinner before returning for another session of cheerleading. See you later 👋

Evening all. It’s getting a little bit blustery but nothing like they warned us of.
Yes, @Mrs_Salad_Dodger, the stairlift is fixed. Thank goodness for clever Trevor. DH is grateful as he can now get up and down stairs with much less pain.
Did darks wash today. Am learning how best to load this new heated airer.Finished off the stew from yesterday for my dinner, DH had burgers from freezer.
