Lovely to see you Liverpool_Anne 👋 Some excellent work both decluttering & tackling various tasks despite having the lurgy & being so tired 👏 I can only imagine what you have planned once your B12 jab begins to take effect 😁 Pity about the front tooth filling falling out yet again 😞 I just find it rather ‘odd’ that your dentist is reluctant to fit a crown 🤨 Good luck with your cleaning rota 🍀
Welcome aboard the EDT kr147 👋 Lovely to meet you 😊 An excellent start to your decluttering campaign clearing the back room 👏 Four trips to the Tip, 3 bags of stuff for CS & a bike to sell 🤩 The room must be practically empty 👏 Good luck with the digital decluttering 🍀 I am looking forward to following your progress 😊
Great work sorting out your handbag Watty1 👏 Good luck with the office decluttering 🍀
Excellent decluttering to CS & Tip, BlueJ94 👏
So nice to have you back Crazycatlady2 ☺️ Thank you for the lovely photos 👏 Your feline family are no longer kittens 😧 I bet they had fun with the Christmas tree 😉 Very sorry to hear about the brain tumour 🥺 I will keep everything crossed that you don’t have to wait too long for your operation to remove it 🤞🙏
silverwhistle, well done booking a slot at the ‘dump’ 👏 Hopefully you found even more ‘stuff’ to go 🤞
QueenJess, not sure I would call that a lazy weekend 😉 Some great decluttering 👏 Just a quick question about tea lights - what type of container do you use & what type of place mat do you put underneath? Currently the only time I use tea lights is in pumpkins at Halloween 😅 so no issues with burn makes on surfaces.
vulpix, what on earth are we going to do with you 🤭 😉 You cannot seem to sit still for a minute & always have something on the go. You are an absolute marvel 🤩 Good luck finding a suitable lampshade & tackling your clothes mountain 🍀 Hopefully you will enjoy the snow but please be careful if you have to go out 🙏 This “The cats are showing their age. They want to go out but it's too cold, They try different doors in the hope someone has switched the outside heating on.” had me in stitches 🤣 Talking about cats & snow, my DSis showed me a couple of videos which are hilarious 😹 Three doorbells 😬 I hope visitors don’t ring all three 🤞 as I imagine that could be quite annoying 😖
D123456789, great work emptying & defrosting the freezer 👏 Good news that you have been so successful in using up kitchen food stocks ☺️ It might look a bit bare but at least you can see exactly what you have 😉 I will keep my fingers crossed that you can re-supply without breaking the bank 🤞
Excellent & eclectic decluttering Floss 👏 Loved This “Good to see regulars, old names & newbies - we don't keep track of when you visit so don't feel obliged to pop in! Just remember that it's not a race & there's no speed awards, but slow considered decluttering of things can give lasting results & a changed mindset. Make friends with the staff at your tip & local chazzers, as you're likely to be regular visitors!” sage advice for all of us not just the newbies ☺️
Excellent start to your decluttering campaign Quantaqa 👏 As to This “Earlier in the thread someone mentioned decluttering relationships that no longer serve us. I am going to do this. I have one relationship in mind where after my last visit I came away thinking 'never again'. No big fall out, I just won't be getting in touch with them.” good luck 🍀
boultdj, well done on your steady progress decluttering emails 👏 Shame about the slow cooker but your new one sounfpds a lot more user friendly 😊
Great work florianatwobob 👏
You are on a roll Deb4 👏 You have definitely caught the decluttering bug 😊 I am in my 60’s now but I still remember the disappointment & upset when the snowman we had built so lovingly had the audacity to melt 🤭 so I can understand why your DS got upset 😢
Muddy_Walker, isn’t it wonderful when your decluttering mojo appears & you get so much done that you surprise yourself 😊 Just wish my declutter mojo would return from its sabbatical 😉 Hope your voice returned for your first day back at work 🙏
Welcome back WickedLady4 👋 A great start to your 2026 decluttering campaign 👏 Delightful news that you will have a DGS3 later in the year ☺️ I imagine you are looking forward to lots of baby cuddles 🥹
VickyV, what a great expression “ a declutter flutter” 😊 More like an excellent start to your decluttering campaign 👏
DawnW, This “when my elder daughter was little she made a small snowman on a tray. She insisted it went in the freezer. I had a big chest one at the time. She got it out in July and was most unimpressed that it melted quickly” is so cute 🥰 Some good decluttering & I especially liked the ‘mix & match’ 👏 Your OH sounds like my DH - will eat practically anything 😉
It is so lovely to have you back dND 🥹 Pleased to hear that the trip to the blue & yellow shop went so well & that you safely navigated the icy roads 😊 This “DS1 and I had a good chat when he brought in the tower units I mentioned in my last post, about a plan for the coming year to get the house more livable and not just a collection of storage rooms. Sometimes you can't see the wood for the trees as my mother would say and it's really useful having someone you trust to throw ideas at you. 😁” is wonderful 🥹
More great decluttering QueenJess 👏 Does this mean your DS is getting better at letting things go 🤔🤞
Just noticed the time so am off to bed 😉 Sleep tight 😴

I've been steadily unpacking the new house - it's nice to see pockets of calm emerge as I sort through each bag. Most is getting put away somewhere but I have got rid of some things:
Bags of miscellaney: 1Household items: 13 (2 in, 15 out)Toiletries: 3 (1 in, 4 out)Paper work: 4Clothes: 11 (1 in, 12 out)Books: 1
Enjoying reading all the different approaches to decluttering and you're all so supportive of each other. What a nice thread 💕

Sorry feel I was moaning last night rather than noting my abundance and how it can be redistributed.although I do go to sleep counting clutter rather than sheep! Am I alone in this?
This morning booked for single mattress to be collected by council as given up on someone wanting it although ok.
Collecting things from around house for dd1 to review... cables/ chargers and her old electronic stuff as she's coming earlier on sat and can go through some stuff while I'm at tai chi in my coffee breaks as working from home.
Lovely seeing newbies as well as familiar faces and hearing about your journeys.25 -
Rummaged through my desk drawers as I was logging in this morning and found 2 books that can leave and a whole host of policy and strategy docs which are no longer needed.Books to Ziffit box and strategy documents in a bag to take to shred at work next week although if I pass one of our remote outpost offices before then I’ll drop them in the shredding there.✒️ Declutter 2025 🏅👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

I just had a chiropodist appointment for a tidy up. I was telling the lady about the film yesterday and she recommended me another book by the author so I will look for that at the library.
I am going to pack another donation bag to take tomorrow. I saw some fake converse trainers this morning that I thought I had already donated. I need to try on a red dress I have to see it it still fits or else that can go too.
I did buy a jumper and a couple of bits at the charity shop on the way home. I was looking in the window and I saw a daily pill box. I used to have one but I dropped and smashed it. I only take thyroid tablets in the morning but I sometimes forget if I have taken it.I was laughing with the woman as I said they were my bright yellow trainers I donated that they had in the display window.😅19 -
Is it just me? When you find your people who get you, yet don't know you who are your besties in getting this and the work that needs to be done. This makes it a happy place when sharing your wins no matter what it is.
I get itchy when an item is coming towards the end of its service in an excited sort of way as it will be gone and not replaced. Many things are now corralled and now easy to identify of the SABLE that I am preparing to let go of on the free site and lift a small burden. 3 items just listed.
Have a good day all its one of my shift days with mum. Need to retrieve my driving gloves back off her

Good morning,
My condolences to @Florenceem and family.
20 more things out to add to my total (I'll wait until the end of the month rather than updating it every time that I post). I use five bar gates to keep track in my journal and count in fives to make adding up the total easy. If I am one or two short of my five I can always open a drawer and find something.
Anyway, the twenty out was a cull of pyjamas belonging to ds. Half to the charity shop (fluffy stuff hardly worn and no longer fits) and the other ten were summer ones probably over worn and only fit for the bin. His wardrobe is much tidier with two boxes on his top shelf - one for pj bottoms and one for tops.
I'm still working on the yarn stash although occasionally I do have to buy some to go with other bits so that I can make something. I've made 10 blankets for kits made by a local lady for kiddos entering the care system (not counting those as I've already counted the yarn used) and now I'm making a rainbow blanket for myself. I'm also learning (or trying to learn) to knit socks. Any hints and tips welcome. I'm doing ok at the straight part but feel that it could go a bit pair shaped when I get to the heel.
Take care all of you 😊21 -
Thank you @purplevamp, it's much appreciated.
I remembered this morning that I also bought dolly pegs and normal clothes line pegs yesterday in the £1 shop.
Plus a 3 pack of small round food containers in Tesco's on Tuesday.
I've put the umpteen small takeaway pots and lids that I hoped to use one day into the plastic recycling bag.

pillowcase ripped being put on the pillow, relegated to cleaning cloth drawer.
3 cushions for the charity shop. Cushions and big bag of ours and Mum's donations being dropped off today.
UU a hand cream
I am using up knitting wool on 2 jumpers for our grandsons. There will be some left over which I will use for something for Happy Kitties charity work. My Mum has been very prolific recently with knitting. I must have 20 little hats for Happy Kitties.
Someone was telling me about a guy locally who has started a new charity to buy a property in Buxton for ex service people with PTSD to have a break. I have been thinking of how I could do some fund raising for it and Mr V has offered to do a quiz night. He is also going to talk to man shed about it to see if they can do something.
We went shopping yesterday as we are forecast a foot of snow tonight. Also bought a few things for gifts in TKmaxx sale plus 2 pairs of socks for me, ooo decadence, I didn't even "need" them. That's a slippery slope right there!
All the bedding and towels are sorted, like with like. 2 sets for each bed. This has highlighted that I am missing a single duvet cover and a kingsize sheet. Goodness knows what I have done with them, perhaps they are with my dressing gown, which has hopefully been shoved in a shed by the removal people.
If we are staying in for a few days because of snow I will change the contents of the kitchen cupboards about to more sensible places. There are also 2 banana boxes of ornament type stuff to unpack.
I was having a browse of all the garden pots I brought from the other house. I notice several are not mine! despite repeatedly telling the removal people which were mine I have got several of someone else's. We have already taken some back and retrieved one of mine previously. They can wait for better weather now before we return them.
Just to say DD's loft boarding also involved ladder, shelves and lighting.
Goodness look at the time, I need to get something done. Vx

I've been very slow making a start mostly because I couldn't decide what to try and do first. The whole house needs going through. I have one room that can't be used because there is so much stuff in there and I have to keep the curtains shut in case anyone sees in! Anyhow, I have been reading along and yesterday finally took the Christmas decorations down and made a start on the kitchen. I've emptied one small free standing unit and moved that out (yes into the awful room!) and today I'm going to go through the cookery books - being ruthless. I'm going to have to take baby steps or I know I will just give up.20
