Good afternoon chums ,decluttered some paperbacks to the CS but also bought a Bill Bryson one to read, so 8 out and 1 in
Condolences to Florenceem a lovely lady who does so much for everyone elce I hope she takes her time to be kind to herself and returns when she feels ready .Give her my best wishes and thank you Daisy1571 for letting us know
JackieO xx
Stitch and !!!!!! was good this morning, lots of chat and laughter. We have a very nice American lady who comes regularly and I asked if she had a good Christmas and she gave a truly British answer " Yes nice ,but quiet"
I said she is turning into a Brit, and explained that an awful lot of us give the same answer after Christmas. She was surprised ,the next five ladies who turned up I asked the same question and all five gave the same aswer
I justy looked at Karen (our friend) and said
"You are definitely becoming more British as time goes on"
We all do different things on a Wednesday morning, some knit or crochet, and one lady makes cross stitch cards which she sells to raise cash for the homeless. But we all enjoy our mid-week natter, and as its held in a local Coop cafe there is plenty of tea/coffee on tap.
Toimorrow will be an early start as my car goes into the dealership for its second year service. So I will be there at 8.00am sharp, and hopefully it will be done first thing
I shall stay there and take my book with me as the coffee is free and its nice and warm there, so a comfy chair and coffee on tap with my book is my Thursday morning trip
Hopefully I will get away by lunchtime as after lunch its the monthly meet up in Newport for U3A and the talk is about AI and how it works and affects us today. So Thursday will be a fairly busy one
I have a jigsaw on the go in my sitting room, and its a bit of a toughie as its a Christmas scene with lots of stars, lights and three Christmas three with ice and snow all over the ground. my granddaughter gave it to me as part of my Christmas presents, and it maybe a while before its done.:)
Luckily I do a few bits at a time and I wll get it done but not very quickly
I love jigsaws in the winter, as I have the wireless on and I just do a little at a time, and it makes a change from watching TV
Bad weather is due tomorrow night, lots of high winds and rain as the storm sweeps across the southern coast, I feel for the folk in the north and Scotland as they have freezing weather to contend with. I hope every one keeps wrapped up warm and stays safe.
Take care chums if you have to go out

Several things gone today:Tube of hand cream - cut in half, used up and binned
A nice coat, an unworn top, a pair of curtains and some fabric donated to a charity shop this morning. My 'usual' one wasn't accepting donations, so it went to a homeless charity
All nice saleable items, and I gift aided
Don't forget to gift aid if you are a taxpayer, it makes a big difference to the charity

I always gift aid if I can, as I think every penny that can go to help a charity is worth it. In Ryde we have a lot of CS in the High Street, and there are some great ones from the Sally Army to the Friends of Animals and Age Concern there is also a Veterans CS which one of my friends helps to organise. They all do fairly well, and a local one called Aspire after the big church with the spire that you can see for miles in Ryde, has just reopened with a small cafe attached which has been refurbished.DawnW said:Don't forget to gift aid if you are a taxpayer, it makes a big difference to the charity
I try to spread the donations as much as possible. There is also the BHF, Red Cross, Oxfam plus the Earl Moutbatten Hospice one, so I think sometimes a good wander is in order with the CRUK one at the top of Union Street at the end of the High Street.
The Friends of the Animals have a great crafting section, where I sometimes pick up bits for my DD now she is in to crafting.
Recycling at its best I think

Wednesday continued: still on the 3rd but making progress 🙂
Great decluttering ShelivesintheShire 👏 & very MSE saving £80 a year 👏
regnbue, I do hope you were well wrapped up in the feels like -7° temperature 🙏 Reading This “The great thing about this is that when I went indoors to get the extra strong tape and scissors to temporarily fix it I knew exactly where to find them as I have a notebook for the 9 drawer cupboard which listed what was in which drawer.” brought me joy 🥹 & as to This “I know it's only a little thing but it's saved me so much time and stress being able to find them immediately and fix the pipe.” I disagree, not a little thing at all rather an indication of successful decluttering 👏🥳 & also an example to your fellow declutterati of the benefits of decluttering ☺️
Good work I_love_comps 👏
Good idea Floss 👏
Brie, very pleased to hear that Floss’s observation/comment has prompted you into action ☺️ You definitely deserve “something right lush” 🥹
Muddy_Walker, yippee to getting over your cold & treatment weekend 🥳 It sounds like you have done some mental decluttering which has helped 🥹 As to This “i have also banned the word “should” from my vocabulary as it just means undue stress and friction leading to guilt and inadequacy. Only took 50 odd years!” I understand where you are coming from ☺️ I need to take a leaf out of your book & do the same 🙏 This “Don’t panic about the pace we all go at. None of us are robots and we do as much or as little as we can manage. The pace will slow down a bit later on” is so true & a timely reminder that how we tackle decluttering is as individual as each snowflake ☺️
DundeeDoll, a very impressive 26 minute dash 👏🤩
TC77, thanks for the reminder about the TLC Carriage 👏 Steady progress with your decluttering 👏
Yet another page done 🙂

@vulpix Yay! for the advert tidying it's surprising how much can be done in that small window, yet it shows how long the adverts are too.
@daisy_1571 thanks for the sad update re Mr F - my thoughts are with them
@BlueJ94 I'd let the Next and Very accounts go. Reduction of temptation removed for you. It's something you will never need to think or worry about again, weight lifted and it shows yourself you are serious about your task for the year. What a good start 2 sorted in the first month.
Happy new year all! I am all caught up with you all.
Last year I was absent quite a bit but am back again still on the slow winning side of decluttering.
Even some of mum & dads Christmas decorations some have been used and now decluttered and others were unexpectedly requested and I quickly responded to that some more have gone out. So there is now space in 1 of the boxes where I should really check the others to reduce down again. 2 carrier bags emptied and a plastic tub that held some tinsel out. Just spent 30mins looking for a data cable to upload a video for a complaint and found several small items to go and little jobs done in process. Fresh glasses case for mum. Found a brand new unworn of mine they are 2 year old and a bit as the opticians are chasing me for an updated eye test
New ring for the dog tag which had come off the pups collar. Other part of keyring binned. An old lip scrub BBE 2017
I won't be counting but creating spaces that will grow
Here's to 2026 for all of us especially MrsSD
Hugs to those who are needing one

Finally inspired to do some - goes along with the grocery challenge, have decluttered the freezer mainly tidying and making a list but have thrown out an old lollipop, and found some stuff I didn’t know was there plus organised to make it easier to use. Theres enough to avoid much shopping for a bit but I’ll still get stuff in I’m sure! Tried to use chat gpt for an inventory using voice recognition but for some reason it all came out Welsh 😂😂19

Another Wednesday post! DH has just made me a coffee, so I can get straight back to the cheerleading 😉 Still on the 3rd but getting near to the 4th 😉
GrannyKate, might have been a lazy day for you 😉 but would have been a great day for me 🙊
Well done on tackling emails & unsubscribing at the same time 👏
Of course you can join DawnW 😊 Welcome aboard the EDT 👋 From your post, it sounds like you are a seasoned declutterer who has been very busy with your business resulting in a bit of a build up of general clutter 😊 This “…….. I must make the effort to actually get these out of the house next week. After all, putting things in bags and leaving them on chairs is not actual decluttering, so I will count these items only once they go.” struck a chord as I am often in the exact same position 😉 Well done on decluttering the Christmas chocolate biscuits 👏 several happy people including you as you have started your decluttering journey 😊
dND, what a great day the 3rd of January was for you 👏🥳 Not only have you solved the issue of CD/DVD storage (compliments of DS1) but you have also rearranged your freezer contents, packed up your Christmas tree (which always seems to take forever 😞) & you have your vintage Tupperware out in the open ready to start listing & selling 👏🤩 You are on a roll ☺️
ilovetea, I have to say that it is a good job you had a restful day from decluttering 😊 A disgraceful state of affairs that your recycling bin hasn’t been emptied for 3 weeks & is set to be un-emptied for another week 😖 This “Binned my old iron as it had started leaking. Maybe shock of being used..” is a shame but I have to confess I did smile at the 2nd sentence 😃
A great start to your decluttering journey jivjules1 👏
Floss, well done culling your freezer-burnt food from your FF 👏 I found it strangely satisfying when I did mine although tempered a little by the waste even if it was only leftovers 🤨 How exciting prepping for your new bathroom 😁 Good luck working out storage solutions for your lotions & potions 🍀 By the way, I really do like how your bathroom is decorated at the moment 😊
And breathe…….. I have replied to the last post dated the 3rd 🥳 I will now concentrate on sorting something for dinner 😉 Plus my iPad needs charging 🙊 See you later 👋

The freezer in the kitchen continues to be decluttered of unlabelled contents. The bags of frozen onions and mushrooms bought during covid went into the curry tonight.
A dumping drawer in the snug has been decluttered and we are ready for a trip to the charity shop.21 -
Gave window cleaner his Christmas present and ordered one for DSis which should arrive with her tomorrow. Nothing like being organised and on top of things, 😂.
First load of laundry done and finishing off drying in front of the fire. Next lot sorted and ready to go in tomorrow. Christmas decorations finally put away and cards ditto. Hopefully friend will put them back on the top shelf for me at the weekend.
Emails had crept back up to over 220. Managed to get them back down to 199 today.21
