2026 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD - our Year of Redistribution

I've had 2 pairs of shoes in, bought from Clarks for a change a encouraged by a friend as they are an investment and when I need smart shoes.
I've a smart top and trousers in, but a size smaller than I usually take and although I got into them, I've ordered the next size up as m and s unfortunately often seem to mainly go to size 20 in store and have not many size 22 when I look.
It's a bit pants and disheartening (upsetting and frustrating too) as I did so well with losing weight until about a year ago with 5 stone off, but I'm hoping one day soon I will turn a corner and start to eat healthier again and start to lose the weight again.
(Sorry, whinge over now).
I've had a pack of handwriting pens in, a pack of cheap different coloured ballpoint pens, a roll of masking tape, a pack of 4 large and 8 small takeaway containers come in.
I do have 2 books going out Saturday, plus 6 plants at some point in the next week.
I've binned a pen and a pencil.Decluttering campaign 2023

Hello chums.
This week has been super busy but very rewarding so no complaints.
Decluttered a lamp back to Argos as faulty.
Decluttered a big electric treadmill belonging to DH this evening too via the book of faces. Had to search for the remote control, eventually found in DHs drawer. On the plus side he did take the rubbish out the drawer into the bin.
Decluttered beef from freezer and some fresh veggies in a flipping lovely slow cooker beef stew. One serving left so I will declutter that tomorrow.
Did one load of laundry, just the whites and lights, to try out my new heated airer. Much cheaper than the tumble dryer plus warms up the kitchen too.@London_1 we had a text from electric today, apparently they are expecting power outages on the island with this storm that’s due to hit us Thursday tea time. Suggested we ensure everything that needs charging is fully charged. We’re on the “vulnerable” list due to health and disabilities. Of course, the storm might not touch us at all but, as the Boy Scouts say, be prepared.Have a good night all, sweet dreams xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal

Decluttered 3 hideous carpets replaced with gorgeous clean and white wood effect laminate 😊 everything looks modern and fresh now.
Can I just ask, why does nobody say brand names on here (like Tesc0 or Vin+ed)? Is there a reason?Unsecured debts total -

Happy new year all.
It's so nice to 'see' everyone. I've just decluttered quite a bit of time catching up on all 43 pages!
Welcome aboard to all the returners and the newbies. Can't wait to keep up with all the going on's, decluttering, redistributions and the rest.
Mrs_SD - Thank you so much again for creating this safe place for us all, it really helps to know that we are not alone in this struggle and as much as I lurk it does feel like a bit of a safety blanket for me here.
Condolences to Mrs F, I always thought about her and wondered how they were, her posts were lovely and I can't wait until she feels she can come back to join us. She will be getting all the love and support she needs I'm sure but please pass along my regards to her.
I'm off work this week so attempted to keep myself busy. It's Wednesday night and I've not gotten anywhere near where I should be but tomorrow is another day and it's still going to be there waiting for me.
I've still got WAY too much stuff.
I'm going to record of my 'Used Up's this year, feel like that's where most of my decluttering will come from. I've gotten better at not just buying things for that dopamine hit and actually thinking about whether or not I already have one at home or if I even need it.
My list of many many things to be 'Used Up' are;- Toiletries
- Stationary
- Candles
- Cleaning products
- Dog toys
- Clothes, shoes and bags
- Books
- Puzzles
The main one on that list I think I will fail on is the books. I buy all my books from the CS so my way of thinking with this is that I LOVE to read, I LOVE that my bookcases are nice and full and I am happy that the money is supporting a charity so if this is the only one I fail on in 2026 then I will be happy with that.
Today I;- Cleared all out of date food from the kitchen
- Tidied kitchen
- Rearranged cupboard in bedroom
- Dug out all pictures to be hung around the house
- 1 load of laundry
Debt Free - 4th June 202521 -
Condolences to Florenceem I remember her fighting so hard to get him the correct medical care.
I visited my friend in hospital this morning but first I popped in to hers for some post and did some tidying (she is aware). I needed to sort out some finance stuff for her as well after my visit.I went through my crafting / art books and haven't moved any to the CS pile but about 5have been moved to the need to think about it pile! To be revisited. As per my norm I was sidetracked in my smallest bedroom but I did finish a WIP which took a lot less time then I expectedLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin19 -
It's an old thing, so that the companies can't trawl for their names in posts etc. There's so much more use of store names online nowadays that the amount there is on here doesn't really matter!canvascamper said:

@_Dolly_Rocker_Me too! I have a room I call my library in my house that has floor to ceiling bookshelves in. I love browsing secondhand bookshops

I am making an effort to actually get through my unread pile of books, although if they get too low I start to panic 😂2026 decluttering: 53 🤑🥉

House abit depressing.
Dd2 has been sleeping in the spare room as her mattress needs replacing but new mattres arriving but I'm having it so got mine off my bed but we can't get it down the stairs to her room (I'm in the loft) so mattress on its side . She's staying at friends tonight and im in the spare room however her room is chockablock so can't fit all her things in with lots on the bed base so difficult to put mattress down. Spare room full of all the things from dd1's old bedroom which is having new carpet along with stairs and landing. Stuff from landing in spare room and everywhere and our airing room is another room of doom and obstacle course to get to heating controls!
But have hopes that this has to be the year to stop having to move things around but unsure why still so packed with stuff. Some from my dad's but I take stuff to the cs most weeks and they comment on how much stuff I take giving me a dozen bags to take away to fill every now and then.
The room for carpet is emptied and hoovered ( using existing underlay and i think starting early. Working at home so can supervise.
A ball ( bit smaller than football out) and a little debris from clearing dd1 old bedroom.
Telling dd2 if she wants to keep things should be in her bedroom which is the largest.
Think on 35 now.

Slow down everyone, I can't keep up with all the posts

@SeekingFlight - a haunted tunnel sounds fun 😄
I can't remember who had a Kallax unit they wanted to move, but have you thought about getting some furniture glider pads to pop under it? They're pretty cheap on Amazon. I have a similar pad under my KitchenAid and it glides so smoothly, even with one hand.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger - the dressing gown went back and I was refunded the same day. Also, good news, I've found the drill. It was in the cupboard that I'd only looked in 3 times
. Now just need to put the new rod and curtain up.
@Pennypincin - I hear you re: weight loss. I'm trying and failing to lose a tonne of weight. I had my gallbladder removed around 17 years ago and since then I can't lose weight, but it goes on with no problem! Even though I don't overeat. As you say it's disheartening. So, I'm sending virtual good vibes to help you on your weight loss journey.
@canvascamper - I think people say the brand names like this to stop free publicity (I could be totally wrong). I still use the full names.
Not so much decluttering but using up. Made 2 banana cakes with 2 black bananas and one frozen one from the freezer. So I'll only include 1 in the decluttering total.
Off to watch Traitors now xx

Hi all, odd sort of day today. Started off with having to sort out the boiler pressure as there was no hot water or heating. Easy job but getting into the boiler cupboard is tricky as I have a pile of stuff in front of it 🙄. I had hoover stairs and landing on my to do list but went to the park for a walk with the rangers instead as it was such a nice sunny day 😁. Most of the snow and ice had gone but there were a few bits that were slippy and the ponds were still covered in ice. It was nice though as it's a while since I have been to that park and I learned a few things from Richie the ranger 😁. The forecast for the next week or so is wintery showers and cold so glad I took the opportunity to get out for a walk today 😁
When I got home I sorted the christmas cards and put what I could into the recycling, kitchen recycling emptied and the wheelie bin put out. We are still on catch up from Christmas here as far as bin collections are concerned but it is manageable if you remember to check on the website when they are 😁. An old lip balm was binned as it tasted funny plus I have a few spare 😁. The bedroom bin and kitchen bin were emptied and 2 boxes and a bag have been returned to the car boot, there are things OH uses when teaching, so some space has appeared on the lr floor. There is still one bag half sorted and 2 bags in the hallway to be sorted but I asked OH how that was going to sort of jog them along but OH was knackered as back to work today, yesterday was declared a snow day and OH doesn't work on Mondays so a bit of a shock to the system 😁.
Also got 2 loads of washing on to the maiden 😁.
After tea I had a mini sort of my yarn stash and a little think about what I can make with it, no decisions made but the wheels are turning 😂.
Right time for bed, feeling very sleepy so hugs to anybody who would like one
46 Christmas cards recycled / binned
47 lip balm
48 kitchen recycling
49 kitchen bin
50 bedroom bin
51 2 boxes and bag into car boot.
Take care everyone
