Hi all,
Firstly condolences to @Florenceem, big hugs
Today I managed to visit my friend M whose DH had a stroke with my friend E whose DH passed away just over a year ago. E has been struggling a bit so we had a good chat about that but she has had some good news as she has been put on the list for knee replacement and if all goes well the first one will be done in May and the second 3 months later 😁. She is so happy about this as she should be pain free and able to keep up with her newest gs as he starts to toddle around 😁. The visit took a large part of the day as it's an hour drive each way but it was worth it. We have also agreed that the next time we meet we will go out for lunch as M has found somewhere that is near by and wheelchair accessible so she can bring her DH and we can all get a trip out 😁.
Apart from the visit all I have done today is empty the bathroom bin and bedroom recycling, 2 LDFPA and uu a candle 😁
@ruby_eskimo I watch a u tube lady who declutters, the space maker method, and she did a little short video about how to help a family member without causing a fight and her advice is not to expect them to have the same goals as you would have, just because you might only have 4 mugs doesn't mean they should be the same etc. Ask questions about what they would like to work on, go for small wins at first, it takes a lot longer than you think and to have lots of patience 😂. She did a whole series about how she helped her Mom and it was very good. She works more on the principle that they have to make the decisions and learn to make sensible decisions about what they keep otherwise you end up back at square one. If you have time maybe you could give it a look. Good luck
@Blue_Doggy please stay and join us, pop in and post when you can 😁 hope it's not too long before you get the op, hugs
@FredKarno welcome aboard and good luck raising the money for your trip 😁
@canvascamper brilliant work on hinted 😁
@scandimore welcome aboard 😁
@Mrs SD considering the speed we are travelling you are doing an amazing job with the cheerleading 💐
Right off to bed as I was out and about quite early and I am falling asleep 😂

After reading what's been going on with decluttering by others I'm creeping in at the back of the class.
I've had a lone shoelace for a trainer ( new) and debating for weeks what to do with it when one of my laces gave up, so new one threaded and old one out
Have a lone flip flop and couldn't find its partner over the summer and weighing up if it will ever appear. Happy to pass on a pair of shoes but can't throw out a single flip flop.
I kept bike chains for about 2 years and then recycled as no locks then the locks turned up.
Hoping for great things at the weekend when dd1 round.
Too many ins from the sales
Mattress collected.by bulky waste and going to clean skirting and woodwork in dd1's old.bedroom after work tomorrow before the carpet arrives on Thursday and new mattress.

Keep tripping over things so setting myself of a target of 250 items by end of jan.
Forgot some digital decluttering and unsubscribing so 32.17 -
@regnbue - I remember reading a book about lost things ... I take the view if I have 90% of my belongings that's OK although would be good to know where more are ...
I told dd1 about soemoene referring to the room of non requirements rather than the room of doom to which she quipped 'so you're going to just have one'?
Here's hoping

I asked in my family chat about redistribution of bedding and duvets, and my sister recommended Dun3lm M1ll. They won't take duvets though, and local waste guidance is use for pet bedding or garden kneeler, or put in the bin. Rubbish gets burnt for energy, so it's not the worst thing to be done, I guess.
Single duvet put in a duvet cover and in dog's bed. He is now a star wars fan instead of minions. Double duvet went in the bin for the bin men to take away this morning, dog's old duvet went in the empty bin this morning.
I now have 3 big bags of unwanted bedding for Elder Son's car to take to Dun3lm after taking me for blood tests tomorrow. Elder Son knows about the blood tests, but not the donations... but we don't want the bags left on the landing so 🤞hopefully he'll agree.
I took the wreath off the front door and got it back into the Christmas box. Before I put that back in my wardrobe, I pulled down the bags on the top shelf, which is where the 2nd and 3rd bags of bedding came from. These were the sheets with holes in that I might have wanted for material. And some very bobbly flannelette sheets that no-one wants on their beds.
Justin did convince me to keep the single bed sheets for material... these are mainly the fitted sheets with exhausted elastic, which is why I didn't pass them onto anyone when we got rid of the last single bed. But the cotton sheeting itself is still strong, so will be useful for patchwork backing, etc And if it's not, then it can go another time.
So taking out bags of heavy stuff from the top of the wardrobe, meant some of the bags of yarn that lived on the Christmas box could go onto the shelf. For now, anyway! This is not the long term plan.
I did a quick yarn redistribution, pulling out 1 ball of yarn for current crochet project, put all the random double knit acrylic into one bag to turn into dolls' clothes. And then looked at the loose balls of yarn on the bookcase, putting them in the bag of their friends for the wardrobe. I took the unfinished mittens downstairs to finish.
Bizarre, I had 1 toddler mitten, knitted and sewn up, and 2 small children mittens, not sewn up. So why I'd sewn up the tiny mitten but not knitted the 2nd, I don't know. Found the right needles to knit the 2nd mitten, sewed up the child size mittens.

I am very sorry to hear about Mr F. They have both had such a difficult couple of years. I am sure Florenceem's faith will be a big comfort to her. xxx
Blue Doggy, fingers crossed that you will soon be able to de clutter your cataracts.xx
Regbbue, hahaha no dressing gown yet. It MUST be in one of the sheds in a black bag. In the meantime I have commandeered Mr V's Chewbacca oodie. Though I actually have more of an Ewok physique!
I have been thinking the same as you LiverpoolAnne. Thank you Mrs SD for your amazing cheer leading.
Mum asked me to go through a banana box of stuff that I packed up about 2 1/2 years ago. Some kept, bin, recycled, charity shop and I have kept two tiny glass elephants and a tiny glass rabbit. They will probably go to the chazzer in due course. Gave some card stock to my friend who has just started making cards.
So before I went out I thought I would put the Christmas throws and quilts away in the drawers under the spare bed. Had to stop to take a long phone call. I of course had emptied all 4 drawers Of bedding and towels, table cloths etc and the chest of drawers in the spare room. I have put like with like and need to finish off in the morning as it is my lovely cleaning ladies day tomorrow. There are already 3 cushions for the charity shop. Perhaps more things tomorrow.
Before i had a cleaner and had the kids at home we used to all clean the house on a Friday. Thursday night was tidyupchippytea night, to give us clear decks for the Friday evening. Even if not much more than hoovering was done, the house looked better for a good tidy up every week. I suppose we do a similar tidy up on a Tuesday night now so LCL can crack on without tidying first.
