2026 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD - our Year of Redistribution

Ah Mrs SD the skirting boards did get wiped down. The feeling has also now subsided. 

I have continued my financial shenanigans and have now transferred the bulk of money from the account linked to the mortgage which is being closed and moved it to our high street savings account. That should land by 5pm tomorrow. Sufficient money remains in there for the January mortgage payment.

New DD instructions have been put in place with effect from Feb’s mortgage payment.  

I’ve updated my S/O to reroute my mortgage contribution to the account I’ve set the DD up on and DBro to do his this week. 

Once the money is in the savings account I’ll sort out the annual overpayment for 25/26 and then 26/27. 

Whilst all that was happening I had a lovely chat with two members of staff at my building society. The building society is based in Yorkshire but their call centre is in Newcastle. One was very excited and nerdy about my email address and the other was very baffled by my unexpected knowledge of St James’ Park and the weather in Newcastle at present.

So sad to hear of Mr Fs passing. The last couple of years were not easy for either him or @Florenceem. Sending much love  and prayers for them both.

Sorry to hear sad news, life can be so very hard sometimes. 

This thread moves at some pace! It's lovely to read everyone's enthusiasm for progress.

Our new floors are fitted tomorrow so I have spent all day today clearing bedrooms. It is exceptionally motivating to see how much nicer they look without all the detritus. The back room now looks like an episode of Sort Your Life Out and poor DS7 is crammed into a corner to watch TV. 

I binned a whole large black bag of junk, didn't count the items but I'm going to put it at 10 because a lot was just old pen lids and broken toys.

Also sold 35 items on Vinted yesterday which were all posted today so they go to the total.

I hope no one is too badly affected by the snow. We got a tiny bit, my kids were most disappointed 😆

My thoughts are also with Florenceem.  Thank you Daisy for letting us know.

A fatigue day for me so decided to swap tomorrow’s planned meal for today.  Hopefully I will have energy tomorrow so that can be used to get things done and only need to heat meal through tomorrow instead of cooking.  Uu a bottle of soy sauce plus the rest of a packet of flaxseeds ground up and in fridge ready for use.

I'd love to join in! 
I started last year then lost momentum fairly quickly 🤭 my energy comes in spurts rather than little and often, so here was today's effort from our bedroom and child's bedroom:

- 4 bin bags of clothes 
- big box of recycling
- 1 bag of rubbish
- 2 boxes of toys and items for charity shop
- big bag of books

Also reorganised all the drawers and wardrobes.

Now just need to get it to leave the house which is the bit I find the hardest!

Next I have the bathroom in my sights 🤓

Have been flat out for the last couple of days.
Was very sad to come back to the news of Mr F’s passing, may he finally be pain free and at peace. 🕊️ 
I do hope that Florenceem is being wrapped up in love and support right now and knows that we are all thinking of her, Thank you @daisy_1571 for letting us know. 💗

Shopping done for Ma today and was delighted she had a stack of items ready for me to rehome 🥳
Clothes for the homeless shelter, items for charity and food to be used up/munched by “her growing grandsons” 🤣
Homecare day for me tomorrow so cleaning to be done and also hoping to add more of my own items to the above to leave the house by Thursday ☺️
